#Ships fused when loading a save

Playtime: 4 hours
Build: 0.10.1.2.

I made a save and stopped playing for a couple hours, then resumed. When I saved, I was docked at a ship that was the exact same model as mine, intending to salvage it when I resumed playing. I loaded the save, and upon looking at the nav map, I discovered that our ships were overlaid atop each other on the map, yet docked normally in gameplay. An NPC ship came along and banged into my ship. I think this propelled us forward, causing an inevitable collision with a nearby wreck. Either that, or the game thinks that in the fusion of the two docked ships, there should be motion.

So you had a collisions and then found you'd drifted away? Sounds like intended behaviour.
Getting crashed into whilst docked is sort of a bug though.
Recent patch should have made the NPCs a lot less likely to bump into you now though, so that should mean this occurs less often!

sure this is resolved? currently on 0.14.2.7 and i just fused with a hauler that docked the same derelict i was currently docked to and in the act of salvaging. so i wasnt even loading a save it must have happened "realtime" while i was cutting up the derelict at 16x speed they definitely should not target docking ports on derelicts that are already occupied

Ship tilemaps that overlap are a sign that one of the ships hit an error before it finished loading.

So while the above issue could be resolved, your issue might be a different cause of a similar symptom.

Whatever the case, a hauler docking to any ship that is already docked sounds like a bug! They're supposed to avoid doing that, but there may be an edge case that trips-up the code.

Do you happen to have a save file from before this happens? Ideally, so we can watch the code as the hauler attempts to dock?

(Some haulers can travel a long distance before docking, so the save might be usable even if its several minutes before the hauler arrives.)
