I had an idea for the contest but turns out I’m no good at printing ha and not really for the time this round. If anyone wants to give it a go it was a Mimikyu/Tangela where Tangela’s vines “exploded” from Mimikyu’s costume. Maybe the vibes are also Mimikyus claws? Idea there for anyone to run with

My problem is it's a different medium entirely. Someone could have a mediocre sprite that gets elevated because it's animated, putting it above a really cool. I tend to only vote for animated ones if I really like the design, like Tene's Hoenn fusion a while back (and even then I think I voted for Knuckles' in the finals). 😦
If it becomes the 'meta' it's just "who can make the best animation" rather than "who can make the best fusion" and that's pretty disappointing. 😢

Its based on the idea that mimikyu is a ghost or a fairy under its costume. And someone said that it would be interesting to use the actual body for mimikyu instead of the costume colours and i thought something like gastly was the most fitting choice

This week had many strong entries, and I honestly liked damn near every sprite here. But from the start, one was just my favourite because of how different and interesting it was, how well it encapsulated the Pokémon subject of the week, and for how good a sprite I feel it is on top of those facts.
For that reason I am happy to announce that the winner of this week's Isaac's Choice Awards is @thick atlas for his Dugtrio/Mimikyu.
The fantastic use of household objects to create something that still resembles a Pokémon is everything I feel Mimikyu stands for, and it was fascinating seeing something so unconventional.
