But I intentionally did other lycan sprites I wasn't going to submit so I could potentially save one for this contest! Yes, now Uh… 95% of the time references usually score like 0 points in the contest, unless the sprite is really good, fits with the 2 mons it’s being fused, and it doesn’t give the impression of being a reference, like when Soreile won a contest with their Deoxys/Onyx

But tl;dr: if you want to win, don’t make a reference fusion, but if it’s your for fun, go ahead

I think the actual cap is 32, but you want to keep your palette as limited as possible. Most Pokemon sprites use 16 colors or less
