I mean they definitely have their differences. Megas forms change stats, sometimes types and abilities usually where gmax forms just change moves, to very strong moves, and doubles hp, also gmax only last 3 turns where mega is for the whole fight. In romhacks or fan games it might be closer to the same tho, have only encountered it in a few so far.

What I can assume is that probably sometime in the prehistoric era of Pokemon, a procotodon creature did manage to get to prehistoric johto while others stayed behind

The australian Kangaskhan evolved to look more like kangaroos, while the Kangaskhan of Johto only evolved slightly

I think the fun part about Pokemon is that we can theorize on their behavior, their ancestors, and their convergent evolutions

Yeah based on your other team members and the movesets of gallade and lucario, lucario is definitely gonna be the more useful of the 2 mons due to it having a better defensive typing and the better movepool. Cuz you already have coverage for all that you would be fighting using Gallade so it makes Lucario better here.

Am I the only one that thinks Baxcalibur's design was such a tragic waste? Yeah Shedinja or catching a Geodude are probably your best bets, and lving up is also a good idea, Makuhita can be good for the magnemites but only if it's able to survive long enough.

If you can get one with the move spore it makes a decently good support pokemon cuz it has decent speed and spore is 100% accurate sleep on any non-grass type pokemon, and since I think hidden abilities were a thing in gen 4, getting one with poison heal as it's ability is also very helpful but not easy in vanilla no cheat gen 4.

I found Typlosion as a Disappointing Evolution that overshadows a Much better looking version of it's Design in Quilava.

It's just a Bigger Quilava, and hardly has any design differences that differenciates itself enough compared to Meganium.

Raticate is #1 cause I think Raticate is really bad ass for such an Early Game Pokemon, and is Really good at not falling behind, especially in early Gens.

While they weren't associated, A Bit of my Experience with Both Versions of Raticate were responsible, as I'm a Nuzlocker, Raticate has become an MvP in a majority of fights in various runs, Two notable ones are my blind ultra moon run with totem Alolan Rat, and a Challenge Mode Flawless Platinum Nuzlocke, where it consistently was the Only survivor in most second have Gym battles.

It would work like protect, being likely to fail if used repeatedly.
