i honestly think Gardevoir (and maybe the Ralts line in general) lends it's design pretty well to be made into a Medusa/gorgon-inspired convergent/regional variant with how many parallels you can draw from the myth, it's almost seamless

designing an entirety new pokemon inspired by it also wouldn't hurt at all but that's an entirely different story

It's a rougher wool you can buy in bulk and use to get a base shape! That way you can just use color as the outer layer and make your colored, softer wool go farther. Core wool also tends to be faster to work with and get nice, dense shapes. Some people use core wool, some people use batting.

either way, the ultra beasts i guess are like alien pokemon from another dimension, so theyve all got this funky otherworldly vibe to them that i think is neat. im still trying to make sprites of the other ultra beasts, but theyve all got long pointy tips thatre hell to make in pixel art 😭

You should probably try adding something else to it or change the base of the creeper to look a bit different. Maybe make it look like some sort of animal with a bigger block of TNT on its back, kinda like the Bulbasaur line or Crustle
