I say try because the download has a cap of how often and how many sprites it can download before it has to stop for a break

yep, its not, i've tried that mode and then resorted to the other modes, still all the basic sprites are missing, like if i tried to change the sprites icons it shows the artist names but no pictures

The only official sources to download the game are here, the game's subreddit or the pokecommunity thread.
To clean out your computer:
- Delete all the save files from the fake files. It's not recommended to keep these, as they have bugs and fake data that the normal game doesn't have.
🔵 Your game folder has a shortcut that you double click namedSavefileto take you to the location to delete all save files. They are namedFile A.rxdata. - Delete any zipped/unzipped folders from there
- Run a virus scan
After doing all the steps, use #downloads to download the real files.

Hi, new player here. Just tried updating the game to version 6.7.2 through the recommended method on Linux Mint (Debian) and the game won't open anymore. When I click on the play icon in Bottles, it opens the game window for a few seconds before closing. I tried replacing the .exe file with a fresh one, but it didn't work. Game files were downloaded through the subreddit link that goes to a Google Docs document.

I download a fresh install using the link in the discord, I extract the zip file in my downloads folder, I run the create shortcut bat, I open the launcher, I click that downloaded the file from discord when it asks. I click install, it opens the command window to install, everything cloeses, the pif launcher then says it's been changed or moved

To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.
Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is not going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:
- Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.
Area:
- Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

- Double click SaveFile
- Delete the save file causing issues.
- If you don't know which it is, you can remove the save 1 by 1 from this folder until you find it

If your game is opening and immediately closing, you likely need to do a full reinstall in a new folder. DO NOT MIX OLD AND NEW FILES!
If you're using the Launcher:
- Reinstall version 1.1.2 of the launcher from HERE (Yes, even if you're already on 1.1.2)
- Open the settings tab
- Click "Reset Config"
NOTE: The original path that the launcher shows will be your old game folder. That folder should be deleted. The new game folder will be inPIFLauncher(#.#.#)/GameFiles/InfiniteFusion - Install/Update the game files.

- If you're on or above 6.6.0 double click
INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.batto update. - If you're below 6.6.0 you must either reinstall in a NEW folder (since the updater won't work due to bugs) or use the New Launcher to update.
- Reinstalling doesn’t remove or require you to move any Save Files.
- If playing on a Randomized save, make sure to reshuffle after updating. Use

Hey @median schooner! To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.
Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:
- Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.
Area:
- Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

Awesome! Keep note your custom sprites might still be loading into the game after the reinstall. But you can take that time to get clothes that have you fighting with or against a glitched mon and my game gave it to me after my own reinstall

Do this first: navigate to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.
Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not download, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.
If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.
Step 4. If that did not fix it: head to a pokecenter > talk to the man in a black suit with sunglasses and navigate to Sprite Settings and select "Reset sprite cache" & "Reset displayed alt sprites".

Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.
Step 4. If that did not fix it: head to a pokecenter > talk to the man in a black suit with sunglasses and navigate to Sprite Settings and select "Reset sprite cache" & "Reset displayed alt sprites".
Step 5. If that did not fix it, delete any game or launcher folders and do a full reinstall.
Step 6. After reinstalling, repeat step 4.

looks to be your device struggling to load the game.
i recommend giving your device a restart. using the actual windows restart option. not turning it off and on again.
then after thats done, launch the game and dont touch it while its starting up.

The error you are having is due to a corrupted save in your save folder conflicting with your current save.
Note: Ensure you know which save file is corrupted before continuing. You can see the save slot on the save selection screen.
- Open your game folder
- Double click SaveFile
- Delete the save file causing issues.
- If you don't know which it is, you can remove the save 1 by 1 from this folder until you find it

To clean out your computer:

For some reason whenever I play PIF it only lasts for maybe 10-15 minutes before it completely freezes and I have to hard reset my laptop. I use performance mode, I don't use the fullscreen, I'm on the latest version, and I have all the party icons as just the DNA and I've tried other stuff in order to keep it running without freezing but I can't seem to fix it... I downloaded the files from here too so I don't think that's the issue.

For never ending loading screens, try turning off WiFi/internet on your device and try again. For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well. For Android users, you may also need to turn off your mobile data.
Note: When you are disconnected from the internet, sprites will not be automatically downloaded resulting in missing sprites. If the game will only work offline for you, you may need to download and import the newest full spritepack from #spritepack-releases. - Uninstall OneDrive (Recommended if you don't need OD for school/work)
- Put the game in C:\Downloads (Or anywhere outside your user profile really since OD doesn't manage anything before user profiles in the C:\ Drive)
- Edit your OneDrive to not manage your PIF folder (Only if you need it for school/work)

The aggression here is unnecessary and will not be tolerated. You are required to agree to the #rules when you join the server. Rules 23 and 24 directly involve modifying your game files. Not to mention, you also downloaded from a fake website and your save was likely bugged anyways due to that. You did not “delete all your stuff” if you still had the save file. We do not support saves from fake files for that exact reason. Taraline was not rude to you by letting mordy know you cheated. What is rude is you getting an attitude with Taraline two hours later because you didn’t read the #rules and broke them.

If you still feel like your sprites are not download, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.
If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:

When I double click the application a smaller black window briefly appears and closes itself and nothing else happens.

I dont know the parameters that are "required". I do know my old pc had a 2070s gpu an I7 5700x cpu and 16gb ram, My new pc is a 5070 gpu, a 9700x cpu, and 32gb ram. It can run elden ring in the background and still play valorant, I dont think my specs are an issue for infinite fusion when the old pc ran it smoothly 100% of the time

the only reason I am not allowing brand new updates is because there have been a large number of reports of windows 11 critical problems with new versions the last month, including one that fried your cpu if you had usb keyboard or mouse plugged in and it went the reboot screen. I am waiting a few days before updating incase the new version comes with any critical issues.
Thank you for the information on restarting the cpu, It was before the new windows version was available that I last reset the pc. I will attempt his again and see if it fixes the issue.
