Your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)

Git has locked your game folder from installing/updating. To fix:

1. Open your game folder.
2. Enable the setting to view hidden files. Screenshot below shows how to see that.
3. Open the .git folder you will see in your folder now
4. Delete the file named shallow.lock
5. Update Again by double clicking on INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat or using the Launcher to Install/Update

Hey guys, having a weird issue where sprites aren't showing up for some pokemon. both base sprites and custom sprites are shown as a ? symbol and when going to change sprites, you can see sprite authors but all the sprites are blank

ok so it seems like after waiting on the pokedex page for about 5 minutes the sprites load in but i still have to switch them to get rid of the ? symbol

The only official sources to download the game are here, the game's subreddit or the pokecommunity thread.

To clean out your computer:

1. Delete all the save files from the fake files. It's not recommended to keep these, as they have bugs and fake data that the normal game doesn't have.
   🔵 Your game folder has a shortcut that you double click named Savefile to take you to the location to delete all save files. They are named File A.rxdata.
2. Delete any zipped/unzipped folders from there
3. Run a virus scan

After doing all the steps, use #downloads to download the real files.

Hey, so I know the sprites are now using sprite sheets to determine what fusions and base sprites go to which pokemon in which slot in-game
Would it be possible to just compile those sprites we have in the full sprite pack, to the spritesheet folder directly?

as a temp fix on those blank sprites and to prevent the "imported sprite" icons overlapping with where sprites should be

This seems to be a common issue for steamdeck users. I saw on the Megaman video for 6.6.2 that there are 2 other users that updated to 6.7 this week and now the game won't launch. mine isn't either. and it seems to be your problem now too.

Update: Just did this for Bulbasaur, it works perfectly. Everything is in the right order and I should be able to delete the imported sprites.

Now I gotta do this for every single other pokemon in the game, unless someone else can provide the entire pokedex worth of base sprite sheets

Just a heads up I'm doing this because the base sprites are blank for every base pokemon, even after importing - I have to manually select the sprite for every pokemon which is a pain in the arse, or I can convert each of the base sprites to a spritesheet and I won't get that ugly "bunch of blank sprites, plus a bunch of 'Imported Sprites'" with no artist credit

I've been told to ask one of y'all about this so @chilly kayak or @earnest oracle , do either of you happen to have a sprite pack or folder with all of the pokemon compiled into sprite sheets?
I believe putting the spritesheets into the folder directly rather than importing the individual sprites fixes that issue where every base mon needs their sprite picked after encountering them once

Hey there! Okay so there is a reason they aren't included in sprite packs. Having them in the full pack zip makes the file size very large and difficult for some people to download, and also even if you were to replace the sprite sheets within your game, it wouldn't change anything. From my understanding of the sprite sheets, it's based on what's in the repo. I feel like it should be accessible via game files, but I remember hearing it wasn't in there. It's a little hard for me to check since I have the dev build of the game lol. The head boss could answer much better

So like Paya said, putting the spritesheets manually won't do anything because the game will still consider them to be undownloaded. What you can do is find the update man and select the "Sprite Options/Update sprites manually options" to force the game to redownload everything with the latest version.

Howdy I noticed that the sprite pack in the announcements is from February and that some of the sprites when in offline mod are not properly appearing, I would assume this is due to the sprites not being in the sprite pack and was wondering when that would be updated.

1. Ensure your sprite meets the criteria above.

NOTE: If you are offline and cannot play the game online, download the newest spritepack from #spritepack-releases (NOT APPLICABLE FOR ANDROID)

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not download, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.
Step 4. If that did not fix it: head to a pokecenter > talk to the man in a black suit with sunglasses and navigate to Sprite Settings and select "Reset sprite cache" & "Reset displayed alt sprites".
Step 5. If that did not fix it, delete any game or launcher folders and do a full reinstall.
Step 6. After reinstalling, repeat step 4.

This only works if you had Auto Save turned on and using 6.4+

1. Open your game folder
2. Double click SaveFile
3. Double click the folder named backups
4. Double click the folder of the save slot you’re reverting. Ex: File A
5. Rename the most recent file to File A.rxdata (The letter will be different if you’re reverting a different save slot)
6. Copy the newly renamed file and paste it into the previous folder. (This will be the folder you had open after step 2) When asked to replace, click yes.

Note: If you don't feel comfortable overriding the save, you can rename it to a different letter on step 5. Ex: File B.rxdata instead of File A.rxdata

Lmao, okay, so it's just Bonsly that's the issue I guess. Every other sprite came back when running 'Reset Sprite Cache' from the Help Man and a restart. All Bonsly sprites are blank in the menu when scrolling them, but everything else is there. Idc, it's just Bonsly, he's not getting used, but I got Gengar back, which is far more important :p. I compiled all of the pokemon's base sprites into sheets, tossed 'em in the folder, AND IT WORKED! I can see pokemon on the title screen now!

Hey @vague pivot! To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

• Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

• Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

I did everything including importing sprites, using the help man, and using the alt download -- it's a problem with this specific update -- you need to have change the sprites on base mons if you have auto download off/imported sprites, or compile all the base mons into spritesheets yourself. The latter of which I did today.

I had to downsize that to 960px^2 (the size PIF uses) and drop them into the spritesheets folder in custombattler after naming them to their respective dex numbers

The error you are having is due to a corrupted save in your save folder conflicting with your current save.

2. Double click SaveFile

Onedrive causes many issues in and out of the game. If you see a status column in your game folder or your path has onedrive, that means your game folder is synching to OneDrive and will cause many issues.

To Fix:

1. Move your InfiniteFusion folder to your C:\Users\Your Name\Downloads folder
2. Open the .git folder (use screenshot below if you don't see it) and delete the file named shallow.lock

For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well. When randomizing the game, you can only randomize Trainers and Gym leaders if you are playing Classic or Randomized Mode.

Randomizing trainers on Remix and Expert Mode will crash trainer battlers.

Steps to fix:

1. Go to a Pokemon Center and talk to Help Man (guy in black suit)
2. Select Advanced Settings -> Randomizer Settings -> Turn Trainers/Gyms OFF
   Note: If you are on Expert Mode, you can go to the help man and switch back to Classic rather than turning off random trainers.

I’m a fresh person to pokemon. While I played some of the ds games and watched a bit of the show as a kid, always collected cards over the years

If your game is opening and immediately closing, you likely need to do a full reinstall in a new folder. DO NOT MIX OLD AND NEW FILES!

If you're using the Launcher:

1. Reinstall version 1.1.2 of the launcher from HERE (Yes, even if you're already on 1.1.2)
2. Open the settings tab
3. Click "Reset Config"
   NOTE: The original path that the launcher shows will be your old game folder. That folder should be deleted. The new game folder will be in PIFLauncher(#.#.#)/GameFiles/InfiniteFusion
4. Install/Update the game files.

If you're not using the Launcher:

Reinstall the Lightweight installer in a NEW folder from Here

If you are on a non-Windows device, follow the [guide](#tech-support message) for your device to reinstall.

So I encountered a bug where if a pokemon that uses dragon-tail on my mon gets knocked out in the process (my mon had rocky helmet on which proceeded to knock out the already-weakened enemy mon that used dragon-tail), then my mon ends up not being switched out like the move ought and the sprite being invisible until I use my next move.

For never ending loading screens, try turning off WiFi/internet on your device and try again. For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well. For Android users, you may also need to turn off your mobile data.

Note: When you are disconnected from the internet, sprites will not be automatically downloaded resulting in missing sprites. If the game will only work offline for you, you may need to download and import the newest full spritepack from #spritepack-releases. Do NOT download the pack if you plan on also playing while connected to the internet.

REGARDING SPRITE ISSUES:

NOTE: If you are offline and cannot play the game online, download the newest spritepack from #spritepack-releases (NOT APPLICABLE FOR ANDROID)

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not download, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.
Step 4. If that did not fix it: head to a pokecenter > talk to the man in a black suit with sunglasses and navigate to Sprite Settings and select "Reset sprite cache" & "Reset displayed alt sprites".
Step 5. If that did not fix it, delete any game or launcher folders and do a full reinstall.
Step 6. After reinstalling, repeat step 4.

If for some reason none of this works, type ?tag altdownload in #ask-a-bot and reinstall using those files (NOT APPLICABLE FOR ANDROID)
