Because sprites are normally not stored with the game files - but rather on a sever.
The game then pulled whatever sprite it needed to show you from the server, instead of adding all 400.000 files on your device from the start.

Problem is - server died

So we now only provide a partially complete version for android - and a fully complete version for Windows/Linux/Mac

Yeah crossing drives is a thing that can be difficult for some installs, and im assuming your system is just on C, and you changed the downloads path to D (i did the exact same, thats why ;p)

my friend and I both downloaded the exact same 6.2.4 preloaded zip from the google doc
but somehow he ended up without having any of the sprites
and when I launched the version I'd downloaded it wasn't displaying menu sprites for fused pokemon, they were just blank
then I ran the updater bat and it fixed my menu sprites, so that's not an issue or whatever-- but I don't understand how he managed to download the wrong file from the same link I used

If you are having issues with sprites after using our new zip, this means you did not set it up correctly. Reasons it didn't work:

1. You didn't use our 2.6 gb zip download from megaman's post in #downloads
2. You forgot to turn off download sprites and restart your game
3. You extracted it on top of an existing InfiniteFusion folder. These files are your new game folder. Don't mix them with your old files.
4. You are opening it from your old game files or shortcut. You need to open it within the new folder that was extracted with the 2.6 gb zip

If you did ALL above, share a screenshot of you doing step 5 of the guide to show us your game files.

Hey @prime harness! Sprite Server is Down but the guide below has the Semi-Working version for Android. YOU WILL STILL HAVE MISSING SPRITES, but the best we can do until the Sprite Server is back up.

Check our Official Android guide HERE. If you didn't follow this guide, DELETE and UNINSTALL everything.

All Android bugs/workarounds are in the guide. If your issue isn't listed, there's no fix. No dedicated mobile version of IF will be developed in the future.

To resolve the error:
In JoiPlay Long tap on the game icon --> Edit. Set engine type to RPG Maker (mkxp-z)
Reopen the game. After waiting, if you hear audio or the title screen with the version shown, but it is just a black screen, that means your phone is not compatible with this game.We can’t do anything on our end to fix this since this game is not developed for Android.

If you are having issues with sprites after using our new zip, this means you did not set it up correctly. Reasons it didn't work:

1. You didn't use our 2.6 gb zip download from megaman's post in #downloads
2. You forgot to turn off download sprites and restart your game
3. You extracted it on top of an existing InfiniteFusion folder. These files are your new game folder. Don't mix them with your old files.
4. You are opening it from your old game files or shortcut. You need to open it within the new folder that was extracted with the 2.6 gb zip

If you did ALL above, share a screenshot of you doing step 5 of the guide to show us your game files.

Fake files use a diff set of data and files that we use. no telling what they injected in those files but they aren't ours.

When randomizing the game, you can only randomize Trainers and Gym leaders if you are playing Classic or Randomized Mode.

Randomizing trainers on Remix and Expert Mode will crash trainer battlers.

Steps:

1. Go to a Pokemon Center and talk to Help Man (guy in black suit)
2. Select Advanced Settings -> Randomizer Settings -> Turn Trainers/Gyms OFF

It is asking you to update where your files are

Game files though, not the App files which is what you downloaded and extracted

So you need to redownload the game (if you can't find the ones on your computer) from #downloads and follow the guide. Towards the bottom it also shows you how to link the game files to the app

Any new game update, you need to rerandomize the settings you have enabled.

If you have only pokemon randomized, you need to Reshuffle Wild Pokemon

This is done in the Pokemon Center -> Update Man (guy in black suit) -> Click Advanced Settings -> You will see the Reshuffle options

This will fix the issue going forward, but sprites already messed up you might have to fix yourself from the Pokedex.

Old data in your Game folder is crashing or causing issues with your game. To fix:

Lightweight Installer:

1. Open your Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat

App Installer:

1. Open the App -> Click Settings -> Click Open Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Go back to the App -> Installation Menu -> Update Game

Afterwards, reopen the game.

When randomizing the game, you can only randomize Trainers and Gym leaders if you are playing Classic or Randomized Mode.

Randomizing trainers on Remix and Expert Mode will crash trainer battlers.

Steps:

1. Go to a Pokemon Center and talk to Help Man (guy in black suit)
2. Select Advanced Settings -> Randomizer Settings -> Turn Trainers/Gyms OFF
