hey all, I'm trying to run the game on steam deck. I was wondering where I can find a full download of a 5.0+ version of the game.

On the website I only see a link to the full version of 4.9.2 OR a link to an installer for the most recent version. I can't run the install.bat on the steam deck.

Hey @astral glen! Are yo having trouble downloading the game? You can find the download of the game in #downloads! To run it, simple unzip all of the files into a folder, then click the .exe file. Be mindful that the game takes a few minutes to load, don't touch the black window before it does!

Your savefile is corrupted and needs to be restored/deleted. A link to the save folder called Savefile is located in the game folder. Check the first pinned message in ⁠tech-support for details. You may be able to restore it by right clicking your savefile (titled File X.rxdata where X is the save slot) and selecting Properties. In the Previous Versions tab you may have an earlier version available depending on your backup settings and you can restore it. Otherwise, you'll just have to delete the file. Always make backups. (this is in the pinned messages, might help?)

the only way to run the version you have on a [cellular communication device] is to run the files on a windows machine and then send them over (and do all the stuff required to get joiplay to work in the first place)

It seems like the new preloaded launcher doesnt come with the non-costum sprites, so all auto-generated fusions just have a "?" symbol for their sprite.
Is anyone else having a similar problem or is it just a bug i have?

If the mods want to make it even easier they can add a copy of the .sh files after running the sed command to remove the problematic characters and remove the final line and add it to the zip file

If you're getting the "missing Game.ini" error, your game is not finding its necessary folders for some reason. Here's a list of things that may fix the issue:

1. Make sure that you have extracted the files from the ZIP, and aren't running the game straight from the zipped folder.
2. Make sure the game.exe file is in the folder with everything else. You might've moved it while trying to make a shortcut or something.
3. Rename the folder with the extracted files to a name without numbers or special characters, e.g. "PokemonInfiniteFusion".
4. Move the entire folder somewhere else on your computer. Moving it to the desktop seems to work for most people.
5. Redownload and re-extract the game in full.

Hey @sly parrot! Are you having trouble with the Pokéradar? You get it from the scientist in Cerulean City's Pokécenter. She gives you the Exp share as a quest reward there, and then will go to Route 24, where she will give you the radar.
When using it, make sure you have a repel active, or else you may only get regular encounters.

Uh, so. Not tech support per se, but: I am working on a project, ChatMon, that uses sprites from the pokemon game as a companion to gameplay. Right now, the tool automatically downloads the sprites from github when loaded for the first time, for the two pokemon games I am currently supporting.

What do you think is the right way to go about this, that doesn't cause issues for you guys, in terms of.. I don't know.. hosting, influx of confused users (very, very unlikely, but figure if you have seen something before in some other project).
I don't want to go "Hey, we now have support for this awesome project run by volunteers, lets get them banned from megadrive" (again, not exactly likely, lol, you have way more users than I am likely to ever reach in my entire life, especially since the first version isn't releaased yet.

The fix is to run the installation in a map directly in the D drive, not exactly sure how it fixes it, maybe too long path length initially?

We still need to be able to download the game manually or at least fix the auto installer before removing the manual install. Also the preloaded version is missing the auto generated sprites which defeats the purpose of the pre loaded one

So in the battlers folder where the base sprites are kept, normally they would also have the non custom sprites there as well. Right now those folders just have the base sprite

To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.

You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!

Hey @soft kelp! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Hey @sterile pivot! Are yo having trouble downloading the game? You can find the download of the game in #downloads! To run it, simple unzip all of the files into a folder, then click the .exe file. Be mindful that the game takes a few minutes to load, don't touch the black window before it does!

Hey @sterile pivot! Are you having trouble with the Pokéradar? You get it from the scientist in Cerulean City's Pokécenter. She gives you the Exp share as a quest reward there, and then will go to Route 24, where she will give you the radar.
When using it, make sure you have a repel active, or else you may only get regular encounters.

I've run into an issue with wild encounters: on version 5.3 I'm getting no grass encounters point blank period. Tried using a repel and wearing it out, nothing. Switched back over to 5.2 and its working just fine. This is only a problem for a certain quest late game where (as best as I can describe with no spoilers) you need specific pokemon in order to gain an item to progress. Gonna use 5.2 to finish said quest then switch back over to 5.3; mainly wanting the mods to be aware said issue.

My game is taking a very long time to load

Hey @sterile pivot! Are you having trouble starting the game? Here are a few common errors you might be experiencing:

If you're getting the "missing Game.ini" error, your game is not finding its necessary folders for some reason. Here's a list of things that may fix the issue:

1. Make sure that you have extracted the files from the ZIP, and aren't running the game straight from the zipped folder.
2. Make sure the game.exe file is in the folder with everything else. You might've moved it while trying to make a shortcut or something.
3. Rename the folder with the extracted files to a name without numbers or special characters, e.g. "PokemonInfiniteFusion".
4. Move the entire folder somewhere else on your computer. Moving it to the desktop seems to work for most people.
5. Redownload and re-extract the game in full.

If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Do not click on the window during this, otherwise you'll get the error below and the game will close.

had a save file of 11 hours and at the 12 hour or so mark my game crashed and gave me this. now my save files are deleted and cant start another game without this popping up after it asks me if i want to skip the opening cutscene. anyone know how top help, im not very good with computers so if i could have more detailed description on how to fix that would be great. Thanks!
