I’m considering giving Loni a trophy for her first solo kill. Can explain it as a sailor tradition.
I think it should be the Maloch Vaas’s wings since those were how she spotted it, so it has significance.
Also considering the Monster Hunter approach and having Safya sew her an outfit out of it given they have 4 pairs of wings (2 per creature) at their disposal to use. Like, maybe a waterproof chest piece or something. With webbing from the wings to help aid in aquatic maneuverability.

For context: this is the female main character in my sci-fi story. The Autumn Fae Princess Lonicera Quercus, who is currently apprenticed to the male main character Callian.

His ex asked for his help getting her ship and crew back from pirates, and just before the voyage, he got arrested. So this is sort of a trial by fire for her as a solo outing.

Way I see it would essentially be either an extra layer of clothing under the vest, like an undershirt, or sewing the parts directly onto the vest. Then I can add the wing portions as sorta chest armor, while giving her a kind of underarm webbing, and possibly some neck/lower face protection she can pull up like a mask
