from my several runs, i usually bring a fairy with me to beat up lance. was really funny in my ghost run when he dragon tail switch out my pokemon for my chandelure gardevoir to pop out. his typhlosion/dragonair couldn't do anything due to fairy type and flash fire.
(giratina meloetta, espeon spiritomb, mismagnius volcarona, chandelure gardevoir, rotom milotic, gengar snorlax in case you're curious)

another ghost type i usually get, mostly for giovanni, is trevenant. don't remember what i fused it with in the ghost run.
