With the release of the French Translation, I can confidently say that there will no longer be any major story/features added

since the main reason why Frog didn't want translations in the first place was someone going through the translation project, only to throw it out with the next major story replacing/removing other sections of the game

at the very least, PIF will get an update to allow the Hoenn mons to show up in randomizer, but thats about it

new features that will appear in Hoenn like Secret Bases, dynamic weather and overworld encounters are a. "This could happen, but don't expect it" type of deal

so yeah, any updates to PIF from now on would probably be just bug fixes/QoL patches.
