Many fixes were implemented in 6.4.5. Please reupdate your game and then do the following after:

1. Go to a Pokemon Center
2. Talk to Help Man (usually 2F of Pokemon Center)
3. Select Fix Game

This will fix many pre 6.4.5 issues.

• If this did not fix your issue, then you need to delete the Data and Graphics folder in your game folder and update again (this doesn't delete your save), and redo the steps above.

However, now it seems that you don't get enough of them (if you play without joining rocket), since now the counter is 45 for it, as opossed to the previous 40. Is there a way to do it without having to go through Union Cave?||

Best place to farm exp before the Elite 4 would be Cool Trainer Alexa on the 3F of Victory Road. They have 2 Hitmon fusions + 1 Blissey fusion that are all lvl 42. If you don't want to walk much, you can also battle Cool Trainer Sofia outside of the League that has a lvl 42 Chansey and lvl 45 fusion.

You should try to read NPC dialogue! They give very good hints on how to continue the game. Sometimes they also give you items! Don't forget to talk to NPC's and read what they say.

Okay. I was hoping to avoid that, since I haven't caught a Minior on my main file yet, but I do have a Minior fusion on another. Testing indicates that the fusion will act the same as a normal Minior, essentially changing to a new Pokemon mid battle, with the same Minior, only with Minior (Core)'s base stats, and the same other Pokemon. This goes as far as changing the sprite mid battle, unlike Aegislash fusions which have no sprite change. This means that there are 3 ways to make Minior fusions (yes, I tested this too): you can go for a Shields Down fusion, which will switch from a defensive form to a speedy, offensive one with more base stats when it's below 50% health, or you can take another ability, in which case you keep the form of the Minior when you fused it. This means that fusing a damaged Minior will actually be something you need to do for certain fusions.

it is an excessively heavy time investment; and also fusing mons can bork things up

ivs and evs aren't really worth investing into for this game, you'd be better off attempting something like that with a game built around difficulty

when you fuse mons, stats [and things like evs, and ivs] get mixed together

if you unfuse them, only the body will retain some of that mix, while the head gets completely rerolled

so by fusing mons, you inheriently just mini wiped all the work you just did

evs and ivs really only make sense for base mons, not so much for fusions

and if you want to mess with it in fusions, you might just want to do that in the showdown that got created using the info from this game

The tl;dr is to use perfect balls from the Amazing Ball Guy in Saffron to catch pokemon with some perfect IVs (Pidgeys and Magikarps have the best catch rates to make up for the awful ball catch rates), then use super splicers to merge them until you get one pokemon with perfect IVs that can be fused onto the pokemon you actually want.

No power items for EVs annoyingly, but the ball guy does let you get Pokerus easily so there's that.

Abra only knows one move, and it makes it go away

you either need to inflict sleep/para/flinch to do damage to it or just throw a ball and pray
