Randomized Mode:
Randomized mode is only offered if you already have a save file, so that people will play classic mode for their first playthrough.
You can start a game, save, quit, and start a new game if you want to play random, but it's not recommended to randomize trainers for your first time.

Area: Wild Pokémon are replaced randomly for each route.

Global: Wild Pokémon are replaced with other Pokémon on a species per species basis, so if Sunkern replaces Rattata in route 1, it will replace Rattata everywhere else.

you can catch them all on any mode, but can't get discord rewards for completing the dex on randomizer modes

yeah randomizer is for fun, not to collect all mons but you don't get locked out of mons regardless. Just you have no idea where mons will be randomized to.

With global you can kinda of get a strat going if you personally wanted to catch all mons in randomizer, but as mentioned above. You dont get in game rewards for catching mons in randomized modes. It would be just for your own personal achievement I suppose

Gym wise, they don’t get randomized unless you specifically set it to randomize. The only reason it would seem randomized is if you selected remix mode and randomized. Remix has different gym battles than normal mode regardless so it wasn’t randomized but just using the new Pokemon in that mode

Randomizing trainers/gyms in remix or expert mode crashes battles anyways so recommend not to touch those.

I have nothing against any developer of the game, however trying to claim yourself (Ymirbot) to be the power that mans that developer's ship as an inexperienced error message reader, and talking down players simply trying to play his game the way they find it most entertaining, is not "defending them and their wishes". If they do not want to implement a nuzlocke mode, they shouldn't. Simply put, any "rules" they want to make pertaining to the discord server is fully up to them, berating new players trying to ask a simple question, that would technically be against those rules. Hey @small light! Are you looking for Surf? The Surf HM can be found in Fuschia City's Safari Zone, Area 4! You can follow the path in the image above to get to a house. In there, a scientist will give you the Surf HM!
You can also get its replacement item, the Surfboard, on Route 19, after getting 6 badges (and have the HM already).

Hey @dawn lance! Are you having trouble with the Pokéradar? You get it from the scientist in Cerulean City's Pokécenter. She gives you the Exp share as a quest reward there, and then will go to Route 24, where she will give you the radar.
When using it, make sure you have a repel active, or else you may only get regular encounters.
