The only problems are online contracts, they have a real time limit and I have seen plenty with over 24 hours cut off. You can still do the delivery after the time but you will be fined for late delivery.
Iirc 1 hour in game is only a couple of minutes

I mean, telling people their opinions are wrong isn't really a great plan. I haven't played myself, but going off the opinions of people I know who have played it and I trust their opinions, there are some flaws. Long drawn out and slow paced story, excessive attention to "realism" detail that detracts from fun gameplay, lack of replayability, and less appealing locations than the first(second?) game. Plus being a prequel you already know which characters are going to survive so there's less of an end-game impact than the first game.

I started on FS2004, upgraded to Flight Simulator X. Now i'm using Prepar3d from Lockheed Martin
it's the same Flight Simulator X engine, but actually optimized and updated with PBR, 64 bit etc. Unfortunatly you don't get the same aircraft package/Missions etc as in FSX since it's "strictly for training/simulation purposes" and not entertainment.
so everything is pretty much payware 👀 - so anyone looking getting into flight sims, for a great out of the box experience I'd strongly reccomend X-Plane 11.
but if your pretty serious about your hobby, and have money to invest. P3D 😉

You can make it so it's ultra-realastic and your plane has random or event set failures. However, it's on payware aircraft.. PMDG for example.
Which is like all licensed from boeing, and is a training level sim (i believe?)

I do it for long hauls Lincs, although it's common most people don't choose to have a event happen 😛
I plan the flight for a over-nighter, take her to cruise level. sleep. have the option of 'pause sim at top of decent on' (which means it'll pause when it's time to start decending) wake up, decend, and laand.
or if you want to be ultra realistic. go onto a server with live air traffic controller positions, that way you have to mainly stay awake to be contacted.

Yeah, for some it's boring, and that's fair enough (could be the same said for type of simulator game) but I've really enjoyed all the technical aspects, details and operations of the aicraft.

Really I use the keyboard not much during flight, most of it is using mouse controls. I use it look around the cockpit, click on the buttons and FMC as I need to.
I also use the option of a Mouse Yoke to fly the aicraft manually.
which yeah, is tricky.. but i'm used to it.

and after all those years, i'm still on the same game engine on P3D 😂 just optimized a little more, and made a bit prettier (but at a cost)
