The original ets was released in 2008 I think, I played it on my laptop with a PS3 controller and the map was tiny compared to now. I think they changed because there was big changes in the game and now just keep releasing DLC
Also ETS2 was initially sold through SCS store and in stores but that's referred to legacy version now and I think they have announced that they won't be supporting it anymore. It's all steam now

The first TSW, the CSX heavy haul, was really cool, but there was only about 15-20 hours of real gameplay there.
Then to expand on it, it's $40 bucks a pop.
Look at Dovetail's Train Simulator. It was like $40-$50 bucks to start, and then the had hundreds of DLCs. I think to buy them all it is several thousand dollars.

But here’s my example. I looked at the charts of farming simulator and I’ve noticed that all the previous game was abandoned and got less and less of people as time continued. Just like fs17 will vanish from the spotlight on November 20 and fs19 will vanish in 2021. That’s just the way it works in my opinion. I think If TSW was successful then TS would ultimately begin to fail and TSW would rise.

FS19 and FS17 will be similar, but FS13 by comparison is much different.
In the screenshots and video I've seen so far of FS19, the field textures look very similar to FS17, but I think the new lightning system will give them a LOT more visual depth, and that will really enhance their look.
