Stuck in space?
They had entered the atmosfere again before the shuttle disintegrated.... (wouldn't get the heat from reentry if they still was in space..)
And, unfortanley they all died in that accident.
That clip uses a whole mix of different clips, including from movies, and is rather shallow in how they present the case....

(and Laika was used by the ussr, not Nasa...)
