Now I know that anyone that has read the name of this forum and knows what ACRE 2 is are gonna be like that cool but too "complicated" for karma lib server, and maybe you are right but allow me to explain myself.

for the last 2 years I have been with 2 primary groups for arma first it was Section 7, and as of the last month here in karmakut. I have spent every day since the 2nd day of the Chernaures winter lib to the final day and hour of Florida key doing what I can to help and have fun, but the reason I say this is that I notice that in both groups I have played with, both use TFAR. Now TFAR is not bad it's great but it lacks things like how radios actually work, you can't just use a short-range radio at 4k in a somewhat mountainous area your just gonna hear -static- all day long, or like how you cant hear a man through an entire 20inch thick wall of steel, but also radio interrupting, when talking on a radio another person cant just talk on the same freq you are and say something over you it just cancels each other out and only the strongest signal will be heard or none at all. I bring this point up most importantly cause I heard many times in any comms 31,82,110 you name it just talking at the same time which leads to just noises being heard not words cause TFAR doesn't simulate that, it doesn't give people a reason to only talk on comms when needed instead of speaking in person like yelling at a teammate about stuff, but ACRE changes that for good. Now your gonna need to try contacting your squad or others with local chat if possible to not clog up the radio channels.

Now before ending this, I wanna make this clear, am not saying remove TFAR for good go all ACRE, no instead try using ACRE on a small lib campaign for example Florida keys to see how people adapt to it, and if it not good put back TFAR simple, Dasvidanya.

Not to stunt the idea or anything but people could just be more respectful and have proper radio etiquette

That true

#

If I remember Jackmc was doing a radio etiquette class but let see if people actually learn from what hey say and use that knowledge properly

#

Again am just suggesting. All the thing am saying may be against the way karmakut lib are ment to be and that okay

Since the nature of this server is meant to be milsim-lite, and available for everyone, i think TFAR is the better fit

There only one way to find out

I think it would be great for KOG events

Never been to a KOG events so I wouldn't know if it good for it

Acre can simulate faction/player specific languages, meaning if a player is speaking and they're designated English they'll sound like they're speaking gibberish to someone set to any other language making it an interesting option for pvp or role play type missions

I personally prefer acre for public stuff as the anprc343 is insanely simple, and the plugin installs itself into TeamSpeak, which helps a ton as most of my generation doesn't know how to use a file browser for some reason

Doesnt TFAR work the exact same? A plugin in Teamspeak?

solemn trench
#

am pretty sure it does

#

Gray you mind explaining a bit more

Acre installs itself into your ts folder so all you have to do is enable the plug in under your settings in ts

#

While with tfar you have to install it in your ts folder yourself and then enable it in your plugins

#

The extra step is apparently intimidating to people who aren't used to using pcs for anything other than playing library/launcher based games

Ye I can kinda see how it can be a little "intimidating" to older people or just people with no basic computer know how

Actually, younger folks who grew up with the public school chromebook seem to really struggle with the concept of 'files' or a local filesystem and browser

#

Not a big deal obviously, just a relevant anwcdote
