No I'm not here asking for tanks, however much I want them. I want to talk about our currant layout for crewman rolls. I think having strikers being a squad lvl asset is great and should stay that way and I'm even leaning towards liking the driver/gunner slots, but I think we should keep at least two three man teems open for dedicated armor/CAAT if that's a thing you want to implement.
IFV's operating with a two man crew are at a significant disadvantage in terms of, communication, visibility, and maneuver warfare strategy. giving us the ability to run an IFV not tethered (physically, I will amend with past SOP's at the end) to a squad and squad leader will allow us to better position around the battle space with better eyes and ears, and be able to better destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver. also playing a vehicle commander is fun.
CAAT stands for Combat Anti Armor Team. The idea is that early on in a campaign when we don't have heavy vehicle assets, we could run the three man crews in TOW HMWWV's/M-ATV's (if they exist in the midlist) to provide anti armor support till more resources can be allocated to IFV's. The driver/gunner would do their perspective roles and the commander would be able to step outside the vic with binos to be able to better observe the battle space.
SOP's both CAAT and the IFV's would run under the same SOP's, obviously infantry first, they would return to old butcher sops and would have to stay within 500m of an inf squad or at least be on the same objective with one I.e. 1-4 is in a blocking position for a battlegroup and CAAT 2 is up the hill 200m behind them waiting to support.
