@grim zealot you should be able to leave the app switched to on and then close SSE and it'll run in the background. Click the little up arrow on your taskbar and see if there's a steelseries icon there when you have the program closed

@grim zealot it should be universal. I use it to sync the lighting between my KB, mouse, and headset. It occasionally bugs out and I have to open the engine to fix it, but 95% of the time it works fine for me. Maybe try reinstalling SSE and see if that fixes things
Also, how many devices are you trying to sync? It might be bugging out if it's just one

There's really no point in using it for one device, you can set the same effects in the Arctis 5 settings lol
Try that and see if it works better
PrismSync is really only for syncing lighting across multiple devices

Probably the lack of macro capability on the 3, it is a budget mouse after all @frank hawk If you don't see a way to do it through the macro settings in SSE then it's safe to assume the mouse just doesn't have that function

@weak geyser I can set the macro to any other button, also to the CPI button. But only the "Play Once" option works for me there, while Toggle Auto Repeat works normally on other buttons.

Hello, i’ve got very strange question. I am looking for buying Arctis 9. But the purpose for them are very specific – i am playin tabletop rpg via discord. The main problem with Bluetooth headsets are problems with talking – the pressure on my skull is very uncomfortable for long playing and i don’t know how i modulate my voice properly. Not sure what I have done with my Apex 7 but somehow I have inverted the modes. When I disable the PC application it switches to my custom modes. When I enable the PC application it switches to the default configs.

Yes, but it'll automatically run in the background if you close out of it, just make sure the SS logo is in the "Show hidden icons" box on the taskbar

Hey guys, I've recently had a problem where my UGREEN 7 Port USB 3.0 Hub has been playing up and not powering my Apex Pro, They keyboard it's self nor it's Passthrough. Which My Rival 650 Wireless is plugged into, and I plan to keep it that way as my laptop doesn't have loads of ports and I use flash drives quite a lot! So it isn't powering my components, and the QCK Prism XL is affected as well, I'm not sure if you guys know how to fix this. I seem to be able to fix it for half an hour maybe less if I turn said Hub on and off again. But the Problem Re-Occurs, then. When I open SSE (Latest Version, always is) it seems to do this and its unfixable unless I were to close SSE, Not sure if it's Windows, The Hub, or me being an idiot and not setting it up correctly. I'm not gonna blame it on the products. Their to good to have this big of a fault lmao, Thanks!

Hi, having one anoying issue with steelseries engine...
On Arctis 9, headset is connected via bluetooth to phone and wifi to PC, and when headset automatically turn off, bluetooth connection stays active and connected.
And when you want again to power on headset, you need to turn it off by button and then turn it on again.
So like we have option to turn on bluetooth automatically when you power on headset, it would be great that when headset turn off automatically due to inactivity, you have option to turn off bluetooth module also automatically.
Basically, when headphone turn off, they should completely shut down, and not stay connected to bluetooth device, or you should have at least option to choose.
Is this a bug or a feature? 🙂

Hello, I am having some annoying issues here... (Apex Pro Keyboard with Omnipoint switches)
When I push my finger slightly forward on the 'o' key and I press it, it makes a weird sound and a weird unsmooth feeling.
I am also having trouble with spacebar rattling and other big keys (Shift, Delete etc.) When my friend got a Apex pro TKL keyboard, there was no rattling on his space bar. (Ur thinking I should put O rings on my keys), but there should be some other way to fix rattling.
If somebody could help me with these issues, it would be great 🙂

how to solve the other tabs going mute while on a discord call:

once in a call go to your bluetooth settings.

disconnect your headphones from the list

replug your connection device in while on the 'game' tab (discord automatically mutes the 'game' part of your headphones, but chat still works... which is annoying...)

after that, wait until your headphones reconnect, and boom it's fixed
you literally have to do this every time
and it's so annoying
oh and when ur finished
go back to discord and switch ur settings back to 'arctis';

@sleek socket Have you tried resetting the headset? There should be a pinhole on the side somewhere that you can push with a bent paperclip that reset the headset back to factory settings. That might fix the battery level reporting issue. For future reference, leaving lithium ion batteries (like the one in the Arctis 1) plugged in all the time is horrible for the battery life so when you're not using it it's better to leave them off the charger until the battery is drained
@calm tartan go into the "Apps" section of SteelSeries engine, turn off Discord integration and turn on PrismSync. From there you can set the colors and effects that span across all your devices

Hello, I am having a small issue .. (I am using Arctis Pro + GameDac)
I was uninstalling the regular Voicemeeter, to later install Voicemeeter Banana, as I wanted to split my Discord, Spotify and Google (Youtube mainly**) sound. But as I was installing Voicemeeter (Banana) and I was setting A1 as my GameDac Game sound, it doesn't appear. Only GameDac Chat. I have 2 playback devices for my headset (i dunno why), "Chat" and "Game".

Okay, based on @weak geyser , I was able to locate the little pinhole [under the left cushion] and using a paper clip, I did a factory reset. [I think..] , but I am still hearing the beep about every 10mins and the batter levels are fine.

Well, the only software that would troubleshoot that is SSE 3. But it wouldn't help as it's made for troubleshooting software rather than problems like this in said product. :).

Okay.. I have a technical question...for about 6 months. [before I got the Arctis 1] , I have been using charging cables from a company called Dope-gadget. They have all the adapters, [iphone, micro usb, usb c, etc.] that have a magnetic tip that connects to the cable. I use them with my mouse, tablet, phone. The "adapter" stays plugged into the device and then you connect the wire via the magnet end.
Could the Arctis 1, think that there is a charging cable plugged in and since there is no cable hooked up and no charge going to it, this is confusing it and is beeping every 10mins? [I think it is every 10mins]

@sleek socket I had the same problem with my friends wireless Steelseries headphones (I don't remember the exact model) I borrowed to see if I like them, lots of manufacturers are lazy and just detect if something is plugged in rather than receiving current at the correct voltage and amperage.
I tried the charging wire for my tablet, It beeped at me and I thought it was charging.. but it wasn't because when I unplugged them again it was still the same battery level. Using the correct steel series wire at my friends house charged them up fine again.
Edit because I missed like 4 words.
So I bought the wired ones instead.

well on the current Xbox One, Microsoft used their own soundcard technology which didn't support USB voice + audio unless it was made specifically with Xbox Wireless technology
but the new Xbox Series X is different, they are working with the headset partners to support USB chat + audio

I recently purchased the Artic 9x and a few weeks after, they came out with a newer model. Any idea how different it is? Did they solve the Bluetooth disconnect issues? I also can't get the 9x to remember the two XBox solutions it talkes to (XBOX One X and XBOX adapter for Windows).

On the USB-C dongle there is a switch that toggles between two different modes: one mode for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, the other mode for all other devices. @tender rapids restarting the PC should fix it, but you can also try resetting the headset through the pinhole switch. I'm not exactly sure where the reset hole is on the 7s so just look around the device to find it, if you can't then look it up on google

@tender rapids The Artcis 1 Wired plugs into the 3.5mm jack on your PC, so it will show up as whatever your default speaker name is such as " Speakers (Realtek Audio)" or something similar

So I've had my Arctis Pro's for almost 2 years, the left joint however is causing severe cracks to appear in the headphones. It's only a matter of time until two cracks converge and cause a piece to break off. I'm also hearing faint clicking or cracking noises from the left speaker when I wear it.

ive asked this question before and all i got for an answer is that the only thing i could do is wait. my problem is that my arctis 5 plays louder in one ear cuff then the other, its more consistent to do it in the left earcup but there have been some instances it happened in the right earcup, does anybody know a solution or if i should return with warranty?

Go into hardware and sound settings through control panel and open the balance dialogue box under the levels tab and see if one channel is coming out louder than the other. If so just set them both to 100 and that should solve it. If that doesn't work then I'd contact support if the headset is still under warranty @tribal scarab

So I have a Arctis Pro without gamedac (chatmix dial instead). The chatmix dial broke early, and I received a replacement today. However, all my programs are reading the Arctis Pro as an Arctis 5 due to the replacement dial

It should still give you the same functionality with the mixing control and dual Game and Chat audio outputs. The ChatMix is meant to work with the Arctis 5s so that's why it reads like that. I don't know of a way to make it read as the Pro instead

Guys, I'm interested in the Arctis 9X. Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of? Use-case would be a mix of PC gaming/music and usage on the XSX. The 7X should have all the same chat functions as the 9X as far as I know. From what I can tell the only perk to the 9X is simultaneous Xbox connectivity and Bluetooth but that's a pretty niche feature honestly.

@next bolt If the mouse is still under warranty (which it should be since you've only had it for 3 months) contact support and they should provide you with a set of replacement grips.
@autumn torrent Can you hear the mic when listening through sidetone? Go into hardware and sound settings through control panel and check that Windows hasn't muted the mic under the levels tab. Next to the volume level number there will be a small speaker icon, if that's red that means the mic is muted so just click the icon and it'll unmute. WIndows sometimes like to do that with my Yeti at random times. If that's not the issue do you have another PC you can test the mic on?

Update: I installed engine on another oc and configured the Arctis 7. It worked there. I then replugged it into my pc, it's working again here.
No problems anymore, but I'm not sure what fixed it.

If you have other wireless peripherals it's possible the mouse is getting interference from those. Trying a different USB port for the receiver might also solve the issue. If you have access to another PC I would test the mouse on it to see if it's truly the mouse causing the issue or something else @hard holly

Like I said earlier, try different USB ports. If you have both receivers plugged into USB 2.0 or 3.0 ports, plug one into the USB 2 and the other into the USB 3 or leave one plugged into the motherboard and plug one into a port on the front panel and see if that works

I Filed a support ticket due to issues with my headsets, i replied to their suggestions of how to fix it after none of them working. Its been 3 days and no response. My warranty ends end of this month.. i don't want to be pushed back with ''back and forth'' tickets till the the warranty ends and then they tell me tough luck because the ''warranty'' is over. Any suggestions?

@normal oasis support tickets take time to get fully resolved. Since you created the ticket before the exportation of the warranty, I would think they would still honor that warranty if you need to get the headset RMAd. As long as you have an active ticket it should be fine, but then again I don't work for SteelSeries so I don't know for sure. Unless one of the staff in here can answer the question the best thing you can do is just wait for the next response to you ticket

just replaced my rival 600 (adhesive issues with the side panels) and when i plugged in the new one steelseries engine 3 told me i had a critical firmware update. it seems it won't install correctly
when it runs the process, i can't use the mouse after. holding the 4, 5, and cpi buttons on plugging it in are the only ways i can get the thing to work

If you right click the Rival 600 and go to properties there should be an option to uninstall just the drivers. Once you've done that start the firmware download through SSE

it's just listed in the device manager as 4 instances of "HID-compliant mouse". if i right click, my options are Update driver, disable device, uninstall device, scan for hardware changes, and properties.
i've uninstalled every one of them, reinstalled SSE, and it still states: "The last firmware update for your Rivall 600 failed..."

Exit SSE and shut down the PC, unplug the mouse and turn the PC on then plug the mouse back in and see if it comes back reading as a Rival 600

@wise beacon There's some kind of software glitch with the GameDac that some people experience which causes the mic to only kind of be muted. I think someone else fixed this in the past by jsut unplugging the dac, restarting the PC< and plugging the dac back in. If that doesn't work maybe someone else will be able to give you some more help because that's all I've got lol. Also try Googling to see if you can find a faster solution that waiting around in here

I can't remember right off hand whether the Arctis 1 Xbox uses the same Xbox exclusive wireless pairing like the 9X does. Basically, if you want a simple solution for wireless on PC go with the PC version of the Arctis 1 or the Arctis 3 Bluetooth

I know probably nobody is going to be able to help this late at night, but I just got my Arctis 5s and the sidetone is incredibly quiet and comes back robotic.

Have you turned the mic volume all the way up through windows settings? What about the audio quality settings for the Chat output? Sometimes the ChatMix has issues playing the "DVD Quality" option correctly through Chat without sounding crackly so set it to "CD Quality" and that should solve that

I've turned the volume up as high as it can go, both in Engine, on my headset and in Windows, especially for the sidetone option. I just changed the audio quality to CD, and it is still robotic. So, my issue still stands with it being too quiet+robotic.
I've had this issue now with pretty much any headset that wasn't the Logitech G430s, but those are built so poorly and I've burned through three of them. I just want a set that has sidetone similar to it, because it worked perfectly.
So, I fixed the quiet issue by going and changing the sidetone volume in Windows, so its a lot louder now, but the issue of it being robotic is still present. Anyone have any ideas?
And now its back to how it was before.
