my steelseries arctis 7 keeps disconnecting when playing sound, without sound it doesn't. On my laptop i don't have problems, only on my pc. It works fine for a week (bought them a week ago), but since yesterday it doesn't 😦 anyone knows a solution? i already uninstalled/re-installed the engine, but also without engine i have problems. i also reset the headset and paired it with the transmitter a few times

I think the optical is there since it's the only way to do chatmix on PS4, otherwise I think USB is good enough for most users. i'm sure in time it'll be changed to USB-C but otherwise it is marketed at games and game consoles so what it has now is good enough
@tulip totem the gamedac is a nice piece of equipment that can be worked on extensively, and that optical port can work for many other things other than PS4, making it universal would be really sweet tbh

I have my sound output set to "Headphones (SteelSeries Arctis 5 Game)" and for a while the sound works fine.

I don't know what causes the issue, but after a while the sound stops working and things like Spotify or streaming videos via YouTube stop working too (I assume as they can't play sound). If I switch the default sound device to "Headphones (SteelSeries 5 Chat)", the sound starts working again. Then after a certain amount of time, the sound stops working again and I have to switch back and forth.

I already have that, but it's still not changing anything. It doesn't sound any different. From my experience, when you switch to 7.1 any audio playing will stop for a moment while it switches, but that's not even happening

@thin stream It's because Windows changes from MME sound system to WDM. suddenly because it cannot cope with stream resolution and audio buffer overflows. I suspect you are trying to HD stream with max 24 -bit depth and Windows sucks a big time and simply downgrades sound what causes tream to stop.

@hot kelp You need to configure codecs not the sound output! Install K-Lite pack and CodecTweaks and set the prefferred codecs to LaV Audio.

@thin stream The problem is not NVidia or SteelSeries but DirtectX - DirectSound. My recommendation: download FFshow codec ck and CodecTwekTools and change reccomended codecs To "USSE MERIT" option. It will solve your problem

Depends what kind of headphones you have. If you have an Arctis 5 or higher use SSE for DTX surround sound, but if you have an Arctis 3 then use Windows Sonic for surround sound

Like I said, it depends what headphones you have. If you have a headset compatible with SSE then I would use the DTX 7.1 feature over Windows Sonic, but if you have an Arctis 3 Windows Sonic is the only way to get surround sound

Of course, some people prefer to just have regular stereo audio through their headphones, in which case don't use Windows Sonic

@brazen shuttle Surround sound is artificial from nature. Dolby Lab. have developed it and translated the signal so stereo can render it. So in fact if you listen to headset it is artificial. The only non artificial surround is listening to live music.

The data flow between those 3 is called Sound Routing.Get a freeware small app called GraphStudio Next and you may check what is your sound routing

They work normally even if not shown in the engine but i can't change any of the preset modes or change any settings. I have also done a clean reinstall of both steelseries engine 3 and the headphones drivers

@brazen shuttle Buzzling noise is caused mostly by interference from another devices. Try to switch cable position and make more room between the cables especially the computer power switches. If that doesn't help the reason ma be: faulty sockets or cable isolation physical damage.

@idle solstice That is in most cases caused by improper USB drivers configuration. Please try to re-install USB HUB Drivers of your computer manufacturer or OEM brand (i.e, intel) That problem is very commen in Windows 10)

@idle solstice No. In case of USB drivers you cannot do it wrong. If the drivers are not appropriate Windows automaticcally swaps them for their default.

again, everything should work without installing anything that Engine doesn't already install. if there's a bug that DTS isn't working, it's best to figure out why it's not working within Engine, or bumping it up to #official-support when we can't figure it out. third party stuff is fine when it's a bandaid to a problem or it's something that Engine outright can't do, but otherwise it really shouldn't be a primary solution

People! You must realize that the Engine is only a final piece of the audio system. The 90% of problems is caused by windows sound management and DirectAudio Windows components which build so called Graphs. To produce a sound you need coding software, decoding software, input software, output software splitter software, sound rendering software, signal flow software and device management software. The Engine is the device contol software... hence all the mess

Hi there. I have a new MSI laptop with per-key rgb, which can be changed with the Steelseries Engine 3 program. I was looking at the custom keyboard effects for different games/programs, but the on/off toggle does not work for most of them. Discord works fine, and the prismsync and audiovisualizer work too, but when I change the toggle for league, csgo or dota2 it won't do anything. Yes, I installed the games. Yes, I redownloaded SE3 and the games. Yes, I restarted the laptop. Nothing works. Can someone please help and explain what I'm doing wrong...?

step 2 : delay setting is (no delay , 1ms( doesnt matter that much))
step 3 : go back to button side then make it (Repeat While Pressed)
step 4 : make the delay 1ms for "Repeat While Pressed"
step 5 : try that macro on any click test web and lemme know the results(please as DPS)

This may have been asked before, but every time I restart my PC, my Apex Pro fails to load my custom RGB profile. My Prism Cloth loads the correct profile, but the keyboard just resorts to default when restarted. I can close the SteelSeries app and reopen it to load the correct the profile, but I can't seem to get it to stay.

I'd still recommend the Arctis 5s. I use them in stereo on my laptop when I travel with the included 3.5mm adapter and they still ground great. Honestly, surround sound is a nice to have but definitely not necessary for gaming

@radiant wave all acrtis headsets have the same drivers (except for the Arctis Pros with Hi-Res) so the sound will be similar on the Arctis 1s compared to the 5s. Not sure about mic quality since I haven't actually tried the Arctis 1 personally but it'll still be good

Check that mic is properly connected to the headset (I'm p sure the A1 mic is removable so make sure it's plugged all the way into the proper port on the headset), go into Windows hardware and sound settings through the control panel and bump up the gain on the mic and make sure no audio effects are being applied to it. Also have you messed with Discord settings at all to see if that is the issue?

Gain is basically the noise level your mic picks up at. If your friends are saying you're too quiet then that means the mic gain is too low for how loud you talk and needs to be turned up

When you listen to the mic yourself and there's no issue then I don't see how it could be the fault of the mic. Have you tried recording your voice through it with audacity to see if it shows the same problem? If the mic is still cutting out even through the voice recording then you can contact SteelSeries support and get a replacement mic for the Arctis 1

Hello, I'm having problems with my rival 600 I got a month ago. My mouse does not light up and the mouse cursor is stuck/doesn't work when it is plugged in to the pc. @ruby marlin can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks so just be patient. If you spam them with emails tho your place in their response que gets reset back to the bottom so just gotta wait it out. Also they don't work weekend so if you sent it Friday or anytime over the last few days you'll prob get a response sometime this week

@signal shadow dumb question but have you tried restarting your PC then launching SSE? You can also try completely wiping the program and installer from the PC then redownloading it, though another user was having the same type of issue with an older version of Windows 10 so it might also be that the latest version of SSE just doesn't like to play well with an old OS

There is an Xbox specific version of the A1 wireless. Otherwise the wireless won't work on the PC/PS4 compatible version and you'll have to use the 3.5mm port from the controller to the headset @radiant wave

Hello, for some reason Bluetooth stopped working on my pc today, it has almost always worked and I've only had an issue with it once which was similar to this. After a little bit of digging i found out that my pc doesn't see my bluetooth device as connected and im not sure what to do. i haven't touched anything on the inside of my pc for a while now and i don't see a reason as to why it would show this. downloading the drivers from the pc manufacturer didn't help either and i have simply no clue as to what i should do

Heya. For some reason, my headphones randomly shut off whenever i connect to a discord call.

I can always hear my call, but whenever im in a game, the 'Game' headphones settings goes mute, but whenever I switch over to 'Chat' I can hear it

I obviously want Discord on Chat, and the game on.. well... Game, so that I can make chat, or the game quieter depending on how loud one or the other is.
