@rain isle if your cable will reach the back panel connectors I'd definitely recommend plugging it in there. Front panel audio doesn't use the higher quality audio components on most most motherboards.

@vital pelican yeah no luck on Amazon US either. They have just the cable that goes between the headset and the chatmix dial or one the has the proprietary micro usb like plug on the headset end and a 3.5mm on the other end.

I would just look for a 4 pole 3.5mm male to male cable probably. By the time you buy the chatmix dial and the cable to connect the headset to it you're probably close to the cost of a brand new arctis 5 with whatever you paid for the headset you have.

No there was a problem with Spotify awhile back that caused it to bug out with SSE so they had to remove support for it and it hasn't been added back yet

I got my arctis Pro Wireless about a month ago and out of the box it had an issue with one of the plastic covers popping off when I put on the headset. I didn't think much of it until I just noticed a crack that has been causing the issue. Does anyone know if this would be covered under warranty?

If you're connected over a cable and adapter then it's possible there's something wrong with the adapter. If you use the same cable when listening on your PC then it wouldn't be the cable or the headset itself. It's most likely the adapter

I just got a Rival and Apex 3 and when I was in steelseries engine i saw that it said "Critical update: Click to install new firmware." And when I did it for the Apex 3 it was fine but then I did it for the Rival 3 and it says "an error occurred that prevented the successful completion of the firmware update." And now my mouse doesnt respond on the screen when i move it and the RGB is flashing. It said not to unplug the mouse or keyboard when updating. What should I do? Is it safe to plug in another mouse to use as a placeholder?

Alright genuine issue at the moment, have been googling for about 2 hours now and getting very frustrated.
Got the Arctis Pro Wireless connected to macbook with bluetooth and it sounds great playing music or any video content but as soon as I join a voice channel or call in Discord or join a Zoom call I get the bluetooth connection beep, the macOS volume goes to 0%, then goes back up to 53% (regardless of what it was before), and the audio quality sounds like a tin can.
As soon as I leave the voice channel or call in Discord or leave the Zoom call I get another bluetooth connection beep, volume returns to what it was before, and audio quality returns to perfect.
I had this issue when I first got the headset and was very angry as it's an expensive headset, but after a few days it seemed to fix itself (or I did it by accident). Now it's back and I can't figure out what the problem is.

Hello guys, so i have had a issue for like 3 months now where if i play any fps game i cant shoot. I am currently using the Rival 600 and i have found no fix. It is very annoying as i am a big fan of fps games and there is this problem which prevents me from playing it. Take CS for an example, when ever i see an enemy and i hold down M1 (Left click) no matter how hard or how soft, or where i click i shoot once and then i cant shoot before i die, and that goes for stuff like gta, cod, cs, etc. And in Dead By Daylight i can't lunge, so i can only to short ranged attacks and not long ranged attacks when i am behind a survivor, and same goes for trying to use my ability behind a survivor. I have searched and search on the internet and looked through the Steelseries Engine, aswell as trying to re-install the games which it happends on. And nothing works so please if you have any idea on this issue or how to fix it please let me know. Thanks.

Theirs just tons of issues with my arctis pro wireless that I needed help with. Their is a loud static I can hear over videos and talking whilst using the headset - yes I have seen this is common but it's really loud. The mic mute button gets stuck when pressing in, the sound feels washed out and distant and the microphone is muffled. @tulip totem

If you've only had the board a week I'd recommend contacting official support through the SteelSeries website and see what they can do for you. Since the board will still be under warranty (assuming you bought it new) they'll most likely be able to get you a replacement

@abstract wasp I wouldn't recommend plugging the adapter into two computers since 1) it won't work and 2) you'll probably damage the dongle. the headset can only do one input at a time.

My arctis 7 2019 has started to flash red on the power LED every time for the past 2-3days, even tho I charge it, engine shows the battery as empty. Been charging it from my usb3 port on the pc when the pc is off because it still puts current out while off. Can this be fixed by charging it with a stronger current, like my phone charger brick with the included micro-b cable?

Heya! Anyone have an issue where GameDAC defaults system audio to 'Headset Earphone (GameDAC Chat)' instead of 'Speakers (GameDAC Game)' after a system reboot? Have to change system audio output manually every time I turn on my PC by resetting the output of the GameDAC, as it doesn't output via the 'Speakers (GameDAC Game)' device at all unless I switch it to Hi-Res Audio and then back to PC.

@weak geyser It is, yeah - but when I boot up, the device is no longer listed, so Windows just uses the next available one which is 'Headset Earphone (GameDAC Chat)'. Switching the DAC to another output mode and then back to PC reactivates 'Speakers (GameDAC Game)', and then Windows re-defaults to it.

if you are doing a RMA its a way of replacing the device, instead of sending it back they get you to destroy and photograph it, other companies also do this. its one of the standard RMA methods

You'd be much better off just waiting until the switches you want are in stock and not marked up. The money and time you'd spend on the necessary equipment to replace the Apex 7 switches, not to mention the very high risk of destroying the board completely wouldn't be worth it in the end

Make sure to load the profiles you want onto the on board memory though. I accidentally deleted all mine forgetting that it was software side.

yeah updating drivers gfx and directx, you already said you did gfx, changing video resolution mode and testing in another game is what i'd suggest to do. which it may then fix your issue, Most games can go in windowed, full screen and full screen borderless.

I wanted to report a problem. I'm using an artics 5 and I set google to the chat audio channel and set my game to the game channel. I could not hear my game at all even if my windows audio was set to artics 5 game.

Do you mean PrismSync won't activate at all or it just won't apply to your gear? If you haven't already done so try restarting SSE or restarting your whole computer. I sometimes have trouble getting the sync to work across my mouse, kb, and headset but a restart usually fixes the problem

In the PrismSync settings do you have the mouse and pad set to on with everything else turned off?
With PrismSync enabled you won't be able to use any of the other apps like sound effects and whatnot

Been having this issue for a while now. For some reason after a while of gaming my computer will stop recognizing the "GameDAC Game" playback option and will default to unsplit audio under "GameDAC Chat" housing both communication and game audio.

It's also possible you accidentally selected only one key when setting up the colors, and that it just so happened to be in sync this whole time, until it wasn't.

so i thought i was using the headset earphone (2- arctis pro wireless chat) before and the audio switching was working. but now looks like after this windows update, it only seems to be working on just the headphone mode
i use the headset and speakers, when the headset is on sound comes out of the headset. when the headset is off sound was coming out of the speakers. the headset still works, but no sound comes out of the speakers.

Hey, is there any chance Steelseries staff will update firmware of Apex M500, which is not their main product right now? Illumination of this keyboard is too bright for most users, and we have to live without it. I even heard the opinion that it is "damn bright".
Of course, I asked support, but I got the information that I can choose the backlight level from the ones offered by StealSeries Engine (too bright).

I have a feeling they're done supporting/updating the M series keyboard lineup @upbeat axle. Does the M500 not have a macro key for adjusting the backlight? There's one on my M750 TKL. Regardless, I would think the brightness slider in SSE would be able to get it low enough for you, but I guess that's personal preference. I usually keep my M750 at 50%-75% brightness

Yes, the Apex M500 has a brightness level switch. I can choose from 3 brightness modes + off mode. Still, the lowest brightness level is too bright. The only advantage of this backlight is that we can take a nice photo, but if we want to work on it, we either turn it off or we will endure a large amount of light from below + the light of the monitor on the front.

I have a quick question, my arctis wireless pro have been delivered today, I've set everything up. Just having a little issue. So basically my mic seems to be pretty quiet everywhere, like discord ect. But this is weird because when I test mic on the steel series engine, it's really loud. So I'm confused why this is happening. Any ideas? I've already set my audio in windows sounds to 100, as well as on discord.

I use the Arctis Pros Wireless Headset. When I use Nvidia's shadow play software to clip my gameplay, it doesnt pick up the audio coming from the chat audio track. hi im having a problem where my arctis pro wireless is only working out of one ear i had this problem and got a replacement with my warranty but i got it again with the new headset and i dont know what to do

@sleek dagger some batches of the Rival 600 had issues with the side grips. If the mouse is still in warranty you can make a support ticket and request a set of replacement grips that use a different glue. If not then looking up a YouTube tutorial on how to reglue the grip is your best bet
@mental atlas do you have side tone enabled? If so turn that off. Otherwise if the problem still persists I also recommend what Modep said and try the headset on a different PC if you have one available just to make sure it's actually the headset that's causing the issue. Other than that I can't offer anymore help, sorry

If it's a powered USB 3.0 hub then no, if it's a USB 2.0 hub with most or all of the ports filled up then possibly yes. I used to have my mouse, headset, keyboard, and mic plugged into a four port USB 2.0 hub and every once in awhile either my mouse or keyboard would stop responding and I'd have to replug it. I switched all my peripherals to a USB 3.0 hub and have never had any of them drop out

so, i've had really bad luck with my steelseries products
i did the mistake of ordering a Rival 600 last year, and after 5 replacements of the sidegrips i had enough and basically stronghanded SS into providing a free exchange - I chose the new Sensei Ten
it's been... About 2 months? And now the mouse wheel is squeaking
has anyone with a Sensei Ten experienced mouse wheel issues?
if 2 months in it's already squeaking, I'm worried that it's going to end up failing at some point

hmm wasn’t it a very common issue with 600 sidegrips?

yeah it was an issue, but from my "research" i had seen probably ~50%/50% about bad grips
some people saying they had theirs for a few years and it was fine
and i liked the mouse - the adjustable weight was great, it fit really nice in my hand too
but in under 18 months i went through 5 free replacement sets of grips and a 6th that I bought myself (in the hopes that the ones I was being sent for free were from the bad batches, and by buying a new one at full price I would maybe have a better batch - but no luck there)
all my peripherals are steelseries, and overall im happy with them - i have arctis pro + gamedac, but the gamedac's got screen burn; had the rival 600 but that was the fiasco already described; got an apex m750 and for a while i seemed to have a couple of faulty LEDs which would not glow in a couple of colours, but that apparently sorted itself out
and i got the prism dual sided mousepad (cloth one side, polymer the other)
and now the sensei 10

@low patio you might contact support ( https://support.steelseries.com/hc/en-us ) to see if they’d know anything because I haven’t seen this problem yet. Hey be has my Apex 3 for a couple months now and it still works perfectly fine. It may be a manufacturing issue. If support doesn’t resolve the problem, then I’d say go to wherever seller you got it from and see if you can exchange it for a new one.
