@tough hazel yeah man
my favourite card is the 2090ti too
I'm gonna buy dual 3090 rtxs
epic gamer time now guys B)
It's garbage
in some cases they're worse than a single 3090
I'll buy dual quadro
they overhyped it
i would like 4 2090tis in sli please
rtxs
I'll do everything
if you're buying dual quadros
to make the ultimate pc
yes 2090ti my favourite quadro
that you need a newer or better gpu to get a video output
might aswell buy a 970
because dual quadros dont support video output
i'll do everything
ok ill wait
epyc cpu
2tb of ram
4 ram coolers
ill wait
go ahead and buy your six 970s
a server motherboard
pair it with some Intel Pentium
the 9 and 0 were in superposition
pair it with some Intel Pentium
@tall cove yeah man
Integrated graphics will do the trick
radeon vega will do just fine
For such an epic gamer
ye can i integrate graphics into my 3090?
ryzen 1 be like
lol
got me my ryzen x today, so happy to test it out
rathee intrestical my freind
ye can i integrate graphics into my 3090?
@fallen escarp to do so, you must launch a crusade on the4 3090
i am saving for a celeron to put in 3090
@fallen escarp to do so, you must launch a crusade on the4 3090
@tall cove thank u good sir
i'll do everything
@tall cove thank u good sir
@fallen escarp of course
which slot does my cpu go in
the 3rd one
i heard it only works in black dimm slots
where does my case go
idk
i forgot how to plug it in
next to the fan
i thought u guys were experts
im going back to the indian man in my pc through teamviewer
no you dont
the ssd slot
yes I do
dont doubt my degree in pc development
did u know u can fix all problem by buying flash player pro
of course
lol
engineers don't engineer motherboards
lol?
Dragon man coming back in a month with his build like:
I'm a pro at tubing
why ask the plebs about the pc, your an engineer
Dragon man coming back in a month with his build like:
@raw marsh lmao
thoes are some hot ram sticks
where did u find photo of my pc
imma upgrade my laptop to another laptop
f
rather f in the chat if u ask me
lol
boys i need an opinion
enginner
LOL
do i use 4 quadro rtx 6000 or do i use 3090
watercooling
finally set up my tubeless water cooling
easy
my pc will look like this
nice
do i use 4 quadro rtx 6000 or do i use 3090
@fallen escarp quadro 8000
hackerman
rgb is for homosexual
Ah yes
lol
Custom build
have fun
have fun getting that much rgb controlllers
and have fun doing the cable management
I'm a pro
@empty gorge kinda looks like a stock image
rgb is for man who like other man from behind
mhm
have fun looking gay
be sure to apply your thermal paste like this
be sure to apply your thermal paste like this
@tall cove yes
your not gay
im too poor to afford those
my pc will look like this
@empty gorge take notes from the verge first
same
im saving up for keyboard
i have never come into contact with a homosexual
@empty gorge kinda looks like a stock image
@lilac dew https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Cases/Software-Control-and-Monitoring-Cases/Obsidian-Series-1000D-Super-Tower-Case/p/CC-9011148-WW from here
The CORSAIR Obsidian Series 1000D is the ultimate super-tower PC case with iconic tempered glass design, smart lighting and fan control and the ability to house two systems simultaneously for the most epic builds. Compatible with CORSAIR iCUE
yes it will look like that
idk man
emporer dragon please do not send me the hiv
corsair must've had like 15 experienced computer builders work on that
I'm a engineer
yes
self proclaimed engineer
self proclaimed pro
ladies and gentleman
give it up
for emperor dragon
say, now dragon, how do you plan to beat corsair's pro builders
who must've had years and years hands on working with pcs
please, the mic is yours.
Because he is pro didn't you listen
I have a sentence to say
ew a sentenc
Ok
gross
Trust me I'm an engineer
no
Where did you study
I installed ram into my imac
nice
that makes me a engineer
no it doesnt
Okayyy
it makes you a weird person
What’s a good monitor
I'm too skilled at building pcs
because you own an imac
you've inserted sticks into slots
you are an engineer
pog
@empty gorge are you secretly linus tech tips
What’s a good monitor
@bold drum odyssey g9
@empty gorge are you secretly linus tech tips
@lilac dew I watch ltt you should shop ltt store
wait
he is
is he ltt under disguise
oh you watch linus tech tips?
name every pc hes built, how much money has he spent in total on pc equipment over the years.
i am Linus
No, I am Linus, poser.
i am wearing the underwear
we are all linus
I can operate a forklift
ok and
Well I have Linus in my basement rn
while you're at it might aswell ram into your 20k build
because its gonna get destroyed while you're building it
so might aswell break it before that happens
anyone can
you just push it in
lmao
i screwed in an nvme ssd
i am a pro engineer
im pretty sure that Geek Squad can at best buy
@empty gorge can you help me i kinda put the extra memory card on my screen
but i wouldnt trust em to do anything
I'm too good at this
mhm
you're becoming more and more of troll
lol
lets talk about cheese
in #💬-general
let me talk truthfully
everyone shush
at first I was
serious
than you guys thought I was a troller
Which at first I wasn't
You clearly are 🤡
than you guys didn't took me seriousley
shhh
so why should I take you seriouslye
Why not a pc building server
true
give me a good one
no
I'm not in any pc building servers
get better discord client and get servers that way
true
ok I'll chat here :D
dragon man
ok lets migrate to general
please go
and talk about cheese
cheese gang rise up
beds are better
you edited that to say "beds are better" when you actually said "yesir"
you covered up your crime
no
I SEE ALL
your eyes deceive you
I need to wait till november 5
Clearly fake
try deleting a message
clearly fake
send something then delete it
so your admitting defeat
Let's stay on topic in here
but was i ever here?
I was on topic here :D
Debatable
I am building a pc
🧢
😂
I'm gonna start building it as soon as I get a rtx 3090
ah yes, completely ignore amd's rx 6000 series and 1st party benchmarks
rtx 3090 better
I will buy the asus version
of the 3090
trust me I'm an engineer
I guess good luck mr engineer
lol
you can just decide the 3090 is better without any 3rd party benchmarks comparing the two
there are many different kinds of engineers
just because you're an engineer doesn't mean you know anything about computers
also, if you were really an engineer, you wouldn't say "trust me, i'm an engineer"
for the business people you need to show them how and why their money is going to a certain process, money talks to them
to other people who understand the process you need to say how the process works, back up your words with science
guys the amd fx 9000 is the best cpu, im in maths
I guess this should be really scientific talk because I didn't understand anything
but lets get back to the pc
I'm going to probably not buy
the 1000d
When do you think the benchmarks for RDNA2 will be out?
nvm I'll go with the 1000d
but lets get back to the pc
@empty gorge how about we don't. Please just keep it to yourself.
our advice is its a waste 😄
Ok, then my final advise is don't build a PC. It wont end well.
but why
also, if you were really an engineer, you wouldn't say "trust me, i'm an engineer"
@crimson scroll it's always the people that say that who know the least about said topic
lmao
I'm an engineer
everybody is telling you that the performance gains from spending so much extra money isn't worth it
that should be pretty easy to understand for an engineer
the job of most engineers is literally to look at something and understand costs and performance
I'm an engineer
@empty gorge yeah fυcking right, as if anyone actually believes that
Trust me I'm an engineer!
what are you doing with 64gb of ram and a 3090?
should I get 124 gigabytes
yaeas
you haven't answered the question
I'm gonna do productive work
an engineer should know that you need to know the desired performance/output of the system in order to design it
what kind of productive work
and sometimes video editing
word and powerpoint and excel
yes
what kind of video editing
plus google docs
4k?
depends
how often is "sometimes"
1 time per 3 months
lmao
Well you say you only use Imovie. So you're most probably an amateur at best
first off, if you're editing a video maybe once every three months, you are NOT a heavy productivity user
yes
my crappy hp laptop from five years ago can run word, powerpoint, excel, and all the google docs suite at the same time
Well he's no more than a troll is all
you don't need any extreme specs
but I need to play csgo
which is cpu limited
Oh lord
.
Well he's no more than a troll is all
@raw marsh 😡
but i need to play csgo
@empty gorge what kind of engineer are you
um
love when an engineer can't answer what they do and the first word is "um"
also the way you talk, you seem young
english isn't my first language sir
even so
Ok what sort of work do you even do
lets not insult him like that
He's looking for attention, I don't think he minds but maybe so.
I got used to it
Melker insulted me like 50 times in the last 5 hours
so I got used to it
hes never gonna think I'm not a troll
because you insist on certain things despite people telling you otherwise
that's what makes you look like a troll
And nobody actually has 20k to spend on a pc while not knowing the first thing about building it.
that's not true
people like that exist
it's just unusual that one might be on this server
and unlikely
Maybe not, but you would have assumed they'd do some research beforehand
enough research to tell you that you need an absurd amount of ram?
I dont have a pc😑
gonna build one?
what kind of video editing
@crimson scroll pretty sure he said 8k earlier
yeah
guys look
Gaming PC Desktop Computer Intel i5 3.10GHz,8GB Ram,1TB Hard Drive,Windows 10 pro,WiFi Ready,Video Card Nvidia GTX 650 1GB, 3 RGB Fans with Remote https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YQCQBJK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oRWMFbF2KX32Z
isn’t it so segsy
intel stock cooler 😍🤤
this is the inside 😮
gtx 650?
yeah lmao
i don’t have this one btw it probably runs siege at 30 fps
a Nokia phone would run games better
runs fortnite 100 fps average on low settings
no way
60 fps on medium settings
gta 5 30 fps
pubg 30 fps
they’re probably lying 🤥
but I need to play csgo
@empty gorge i can run csgo at like 50 fps on my garbage i5-3230m and intel hd graphics 4000, you dont need a 3090 for csgo
on all low ofc
I go super high
I have a gtx 1050 ti so yeah
i can play csgo on max settings with a gtx 1660ti and a 3600
you dont need a 20k pc
just to play cs
lmao
cs was released in like 2012
depends which cs, but yes global offensive got released 2012
require threadripper for cs 1.6
i should upgrade for cs actually... can't hit 1440p 144fps consistently
require threadripper for cs 1.6
@devout wolf yessir
mprt is a different benchmark than gtg
the real answer is, monitor response time is usually a marketing gimmick and real world total latency will be around 10ms
also i'd be very impressed if you could tell the difference between 1ms and 4ms, when playing a game
Hmm, The zotac 3090 is currently in stock. Ive never bought a Zotac product nor do i know much about them. Is it worth canceling my order on the Asus 3090 in favor for a Zotac one
Whats the price difference?
@zinc flume
Actually I wouldn’t. They seem like a Hong Kong Ali Express
is a zotac 1660 super better than a sapphire rx 5600 xt
sapphire 5600xt has more performance, and a better aib
1660 super has the nvenc encoder since everyone and their grandma streams now
lol
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BudWXim0TK4 funny 2080ti and 3070 meme
Today Risitas the Senior Engineer at NVIDIA talks about the RTX 3000 series and the 2080Ti
#RTX3000 #RTXOn #RTX3070 #RTX3080 #RTX3090
fr tho that's a good deal for a 3070, and a big F to all 2080Ti users
=======very important stuff=======
About 96.5% (alot!) of you aren't...
might get zotac then @devout wolf
are you going to be streaming?
'lmao
yea
I think im gonna go for an rtx 3070 honestly
the rx 6800 is similar performance for a slightly higher price
and i like the look of the fe a lot
Posted about 2 weeks ago, but with a different GPU, might go with this one if Big Navi reviews are good:
- Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 6800
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Royal 16GB
- Motherboard: MSI MAG B550M Mortar
- Storage: Corsair Force MP600 1TB
- Case: Thermaltake View 71
- Power Supply: Corsair RM850x
good point
pcie gen 4 ssds have real bad price/performance unless you actually need it
do you do heavy file transfers
no, not really
you're probably not gonna notice the difference then
between 4.0 and 3.0 pcie ssds
and honestly probably not between sata and nvme in general either, but the price gap for those is so small that i just recommend nvme unless you've maxed out your slots already
also i wouldn't get the msi mobo. it's great price/performance, but from a shady company
ight
and of course, wait for benchmarks for the new parts
thanks for the advice, will take it into consideration
Will a 4k monitor that is bigger look less clear cuz the pixels gonna get stretched out of will the pixels just be bigger cuz the bigger the monitor is the less clear it will be right?
no?
define "bigger"
60 feet big diagonally? yes it will be a bit blurry considering the pixel density
27"? go bigger
HAHAHA
My dad is taking me to go see a prebuilt pc and I’m excited
My dad is taking me to go see a prebuilt pc and I’m excited
@astral belfry to buy?
@bold drum you need to consider ppi. something like a 1080p 21" is roughly comparable to 1440p 27", 105 vs 109 ppi. If you look at a 4k 32", that's 138 ppi
so really, even though you're going bigger and bigger, you've added enough pixels between 1440p and 4k to compensate and have a higher PPI
that's what rafee is talking about
Yeah that’s what I was thinking just wondering cuz if it’s a massive screen difference it probably be blurrier
What about an ultra wide monitor
you can run the same calculation for PPI
multiply width by height to get square inches, multiply vertical and horizontal resolutions to get total pixels, divide out
ultimately everyone's comfortable with a different PPI, i think 1080p 27" is too pixelated but others don't
best case is for you to actually have the monitor in person, maybe in a store or something
im using 1080p 27" rn
I'm fine with 1080p on 27in 16:9
but
1440p on 27 at 144+hz is so good
so good looking
but is a lot more expensive
perfect example of why these things need to be tested out per person
My dad is taking me to go see a prebuilt pc and I’m excited
@astral belfry like a store bought one or someone built it for you?
Store bought from Best Buy
Ordered the quad cast S from Best Buy while they were in stock, not as bad as the 30 series cards but crap, usually they go in a few hours to a day
guys us ryzen 5 3600 and a 3070 in a nzxt H1 a good idea?
here is the pcpartpicker list
i have a i5 9600k and a gtx 1060 and cant decide what gpu to upgrade to
what's your budget?

good one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhssMBDvydc&list=UUGJaDZC7PChgd-XMwcbZkiw everyone talkin about randomfrankp and businessinsider but not rocketjumpninja
SteelSeries enters the light weight mouse game with a bang ... giving us a 68g wireless Rival 3, along with a USB Type C soft and flexible braided charging cable.
Very impressive stuff out of the gate. Still a few quality issues, but it's cheaper than the other top tier wirel...
@lusty palm that list is meh, wait for zen 3 release imo
$800 for a 4800h+2060 laptop https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-15-6-laptop-amd-ryzen-7-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-2060-512gb-ssd-fortress-gray/6408464.p?skuId=6408464
8gb memory???
@vague parrot yes that is a good combo if you are looking for an itx build
get the fe for sure cause its a lot smaller
heres the thing
zen 3 5600 is gonna be 100$ more than the 3600
and honestly I am thinking about going for a 3600xt because of higher boost clock and overclocking to 5
a 3600xt vs 3600? still not worth unless you care about OC high scores using exotic cooling
just a big air cooler and the focus on single core performance
and a good airflow case
my problem is that the 5600xt doesn't boost to 5ghz like the r7 and r9 will
its boost is like 4.7 or 4.6
but it does have the cool cache system
which will speed everything up I guess
no core changes
and a slight increase in clock speed
the biggest thing for r5 is the cache change
but I guess it will last longer
why do you care about hitting 5ghz
shouldn't you care more about performance unless, again, you're going for OC scores
and just want to show off numbers
I doubt the stock cooler will allow anything stable over 4.2 ghz?
the stock cooler can handle the boost clock
partially it is because of OC scores for that specific cpu
but its mostly because of single core performance in the games that I play and the performance that I could push out of it for the price point
It’s not going to handle hard core over clocking
your single core performance for the 3600xt vs the 3600 isn't going to matter
you'd be better off buying a better cpu family entirely
lol its on sale rn
for 220
not a bad deal honestly
yeah
im probs gonna wait until intel comes out with their 11th gen cpus or some crap
and then buy the 9700k or 9900k
11th gen might finally be moving from skylake
still 14nm, but they're moving to cypress cove
is there an app that can detect drivers easily because ik windows update doesnt find all of them and idk if i can find all of them
Any good websites for prebuilts that aren’t complete rip offs
Just watch some YT videos like LTTs Secret Shopper series and some videos from GamersNexus and others about pre-built companies. Some are good and some are meh so just do your research before buying one @mellow ferry
Yh it’s not for me, my friend was asking me bcos I have a pc so I might know
Then tell him what I just said lol
Yes
Is that better?
Yes
Is that for £550 good?
that doesnt look too bad but idk
pretty much all prebuilts are ripoffs, save for maybe powerspec and puget labs
also that has a single stick of ram, and it's slow
deffo get 16gb min for gaming of Ram
it really depends on the games and the budget but yes, 16gb is preferred
deffo most AAA games 16gb but stuff like Roblox Minecraft and others 8 will be fine
fps 16gb is worth it
any of you just build the most beastly pc for fun?
most of us here are not made out of money
so...probably not
unless you mean put parts lists together
in which case, yes
apart from that dragon kid 😒
What’s a good amd card for 1440p gaming
normally i would say 5700xt
but with big navi i'd say just wait for 3rd party benchmarks
and then pick one that fits your budget
^
I don’t have a 4k monitor so I don’t think I’ll be able to utilize the full potential of the card do you think it’s worth it
a 5700xt won't necessarily hit 144fps on 1440p
for a 1440p 60hz monitor you'll probably be maxing out though
so is it worth it, depends on the games you play and the framerate you're trying to hit
Most games on medium-high should be able to hit around 144 with a 5700XT
A lot of games are over 100 even with settings maxed out
Really just depends what games you play and whether you want to max out the graphics or not
I play games like warzone siege and rdr2 and I’m planning to get ac Valhalla or cyberpunk
we have no idea what cyberpunk will be like
rdr2
around 80fps for the 1440p high benchmark
Hmmm maybe it will be worth it
I don’t really care about frames as long as they are above 60-70
And I want a really good cpu too so maybe I’ll get Ryzen 5000 convo
Cpu
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/y4Ztp2
300 bucks for building fee, nuts,
This is AMD's 2,000 Build [AMD]
eh
it's closer to 200, and they'd set the retail price of windows at $100 anyways
I doubt they'd actually buy the $100 windows
well of course the cost to any SI is lower than what a consumer will have to pay
but still
you can't say that the cost is $20 or whatever
else you have to say the cost of the 3070 is also lower
and the cost of the ram, and ssd, and everything else
since they buy everything in bulk
Final suggestions needed.
I plan on buying parts soon and would like final suggestions. It is mainly for FPS gaming. The cpu and gpu are place holders because I plan to get the ryzen 9 5900x and Radeon 6800xt.
question
why 1080p 240hz
also the case seems a bit budget for the build. It's a great airflow case, but the tooling is a bit outdated and if we're dropping $2k maybe consider the p500a, unless you think that's too big
i'd also look at the EK aio 360 or Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280/360 over the kraken x73
memory is fine for the price since it's rgb, i would maybe look at 3600cl16 though or higher, we don't know how zen 3 will react/new FLCK
Oh shoot I actually meant to change it to the p500a. And is t 1080p 240hz better for FPS games?
for the SSD i would maybe look at the sx8200 pro, $20 cheaper than the 970 evo
yes, 240hz is better than 144hz for fps, especially competitive
but will you notice? the gap from 60 to 144 is much higher than 144 to 240
and IMO it's nicer to have 1440p 144hz than 1080p 240hz
there's nothing wrong with the latter option, if you are particularly sensitive to framerates then go for it
i think the motherboard choice is just fine though
and as always, wait for benchmarks of the new parts from third party reviewers
so like wil the radeon 6900 XT be better than the rtx 3090?
cause i think they gonna make rtx 3090 TI or SUPER
Practically similar performance
And yeah leaks have it nvidia will be releasing some sort of super or ti variants of 30series cards 1st Quarter next year.
Not sure if specifically a 3090ti/super will be released
I’ve been trying to find parts for a PC. Im more of a casual gamer so I dont think I need the best parts in the world. But I dont know if i should get an RX 560 for my gpu or just save up a little more.
does anyone know a good mechanical keyboard for around $100
Huntsman te, prices change frequently but they're usually in stock and at a fair price of 105? One of the best keyboards in general, laser opto switches I believe
@odd sandal This is 2020 Kyle
1080ti sli is > 3090
Yeah no
about to buy a 6900 when it releases so that I can replace my current 2080ti👍
And what games actually use SLI anymore?
that is why I said "or go for amd cards"
google benchmarks
userbenchmark? lol
... no
mind linking one?
@devout wolf It's bs, Dual 1080's will get the same if not worse min fps then a 3090
i'm aware
You also lose out on all ray tracing features. Not to mention the games that have SLI enabled are enabled to start with
aware of that too
went through 2 benchmarks so far
no overlay, no proof of hardware, no methodology
games that don't even use sli are somehow getting same framerates as 3090
implying that a single 1080ti performs like a 3090... lol
@sly grotto No, they've only said something about the 3060 so far. The 3090 is the finished product of the line until the next generation card's come out. The 3060 will most likely going to be priced at 400? Probably waiting for amd's card's since they like to low ball the prices sometimes, so I'd presume NVidia want's to control the lower end with going cheaper then amd.
@devout wolf It's bs, Dual 1080's will get the same if not worse min fps then a 3090
@gilded frost this logic is flawed as shit. you do know that a 3090 is $500 more than dual 1080ti's. $500 cheaper for the same performance?
you can snag 1080ti's for $400
i'd like to see a benchmark
Yeah I can't believe some random youtuber got their hands on a 3090 a month ago
then feel free to google benchmark tests
do not search for "1080ti sli vs 3090" or whatever
i'd like to see one with at least an msi afterburner overlay
just literally search for sli 1080ti benchmarks
on their own
then do a comparison of 3090 benchmarks
if you're not giving a shit about 4k, then there's no reason to ever go past dual 1080ti's/the new 6900
Okay and what games will you be playing with SLI?
a lot. sli is dead in a lot of opinions, but there's a TON of games that support it. if you don't want to save 2 - $300 by playing with 1080ti's then just get a 6900
Also find me a 1080 card under the price of 799
??
you're trolling surely
if you think there's no 1080's under $800 then idk there's nothing more i can say
I just don't see why you would want a 1080, or SLI to begin with
you save a lot in the long run
people that want the most out of their money's worth. 1080's aren't dead in the slightest like nvidia are trying to say they are. sure, sli may not work with EVERY game, but the fact that $750 can grab you the same performance as something double that price is a joke
Truly
which is $700
every card in the 30xx series is a joke apart from the 3070 atm
amd put them to rest, outside of rt capabilities that is
It's the only card with SLI enabled so they're looking to get some money
absolutely not, the 3080 is easily the best price/product GPU in the new series
comparing it to how they priced the 20 series, sure
if they didn't price the 20 series like that then it'd probably get laughed at
AMD is going to kill the 3070
amd have legitimately took a shit on nvidia's company
yes they will but not yet, not unless they release a lower priced card. 3070 is cheaper and as good as a 2080ti which is what people give a shit about rn so until nvidia/amd change pricing i'd say the 3070 sits perfectly atm. none of the other nvidia 30 series cards can really compare rn
Once they release their new cards, Nvidia can still come out with the 3060, or super versions of existing card's and low ball all of their prices
precisely my point
rly hope they don't though because amd is cool and all, but, i prefer nvidia for their encoder & raytracing performance
Whoever can sell the lowest priced card that will give you the same power as a previous series will win.
Because a lot of the companies revenue comes from those low budget computer players.
@coarse cipher Pretty sure Asus sell's a 240hz/1440p monitor for around $250. Don't mark my word's on it but I would check them out
@ionic forum It doesn't necessarily out preform the 3090 all that much, but for 500 bucks cheaper, that'll be the go to for high end gaming.
lol rn its pretty hard to find a 3070 being sold at 500, and in some cases, a 2080ti can outperform a 3070.
Yeah but it's rare to find a 2080 TI under 1000 . Lol
Wait until AMD's card's drop, it'll balance out the sales, and usually amd is much better with stock and preparation
2080ti outperforming the 3070 is a pretty obsolete claim. Yes, it does outperform the 3070 a lot of the time, but you need to remember the difference in prices. I'm not sure what nvidia were thinking
I was gonna replace my 2080ti but honestly after seeing all the media reviews I'm just considering waiting for the next gen of GPUs. I'm a 1080p gamer currently, and, anything below 144hz kinda hurts my eyes. A lot. So I'm just gonna pray next gen can do 120/4k
Pretty far fetched hope but if it can at least do 100/4k then I'll be satisfied
the 3090 can manage around 50-60 fps in forza horizon at 8k
and can sometimes pass 60fps
I mean first you have to get a 8k monitor
what the hell did i just read
sli is a huge hassle
doesn't work with every game, may not even give you a performance benefit
just get a 3080
also power consumption on the SLI setup is likely higher
not to mention worse cooling when you stack two cards
should i get a ryzen 7 3800x or an intel i7
depends on what you're doing
a gaming PC
what type of games...
shooter games
in general
for pure gaming, intel is winning with currently available chips
however
zen 3 is launching so soon that i would not buy anything unless it is mission critical
and since you're just building a gaming pc, it's not
wait for third party benchmarks, see how new chips compare against what's available, see how that fits into your budget
price range?
uh
and refresh rate
Look at the s2721dgf, non curved, ips 144hz
shares the same panel as the LG 27GL850 series
oh wait that's way underbudget
There's also the asus tuf vg27aq
thanks
there's also the c27jg56 from samsung
VA curved i believe
and the Acer xz272u, also VA curved
oo
the only one i have any personal experience with is the 2719dgf, which should be extremely similar to the 2721dgf in terms of build quality and support
and it's very good, the included stand is fantastic
thank you

it's...a fridge
haah
you could decorate your own and make it look like that
xbox special
Just spray it black and change the bulbs on top to have a neon green ‘accent’
Lol
Blue*
So I'm going to attempt to get a 5900X on Thursday and I think this is the final parts list for it. I do video editing and other content creation/productivity stuff for work +gaming and maybe get into streaming sometime next year idrk rn but that's the reason for the 12 core CPU and PCIe Gen 4 SSD https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4zQtp2
depending on how much you video edit, you may want to go with a 3070
things like davinci resolve prefer cuda over opencl
also i have no clue how that aio performs
I mostly only use Vegas Pro on my machines. Really the only time I use any other software is when I'm editing on another machine lol
Also I spent a couple days researching that AIO and it performs extremely well vs other 360s in it's class and even better than some more expensive 280s
Wow damn
Guys is 3070 in nzxt H1 a good idea?
depends on which model of 3070
i think i've read something somewhere about the FE cooler being bad in the h1 because one of the fans can't push air to properly cool, i'll have to find the source for that though
So i should get a ventus ??
What about founders edition
Reading is hard sometimes lmao
So is listening
hi
Hi
Reading is hard sometimes lmao
@static pecan it be like that
Am I the only one who does this?
Ryzen 5950 [X]- 3090 / 6900XT
Ryzen 5900 [X] - 3080
Ryzen 5700 [X] - 3070 / 6800 XT
Ryzen 5600 [X] - 3060 [When Released]
definitely
no
meh
why are you putting the 6800xt with the 3070
also it's not a hard list
it's like saying you have to put a 3600 with a 2060 and a 3700x with a 2070
you're also missing the 6800
i think im gonna get the tuf 3080 with the new amd proccesor
pogu
i think im gonna get the tuf 3080 with the new amd proccesor
@lusty palm well as long as you can secure a 3080...
^
insert usual spiel about waiting for reviews and buying for what you need
bitwit made a video on 3000 series cards
with tuf, asus, and whatnot
he benchmarked them too
eh pick your poison ig
GN does a lot more thorough testing
bitwit's got nicer builds but his videos seem more targeted at a younger audience
Does anyone know of any large cases that will have enough clearance to support a Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler? (165 mm)
i just one good example
p500a, $130
👍
you should look at other features you want or need though
other than just tower cooler support
uh, no.
it's the same chassis as the p500a with a closed off front
if you take off the front panel cover you get an "airflow fabric" that really just lets a ton of dust through
and at that point just get the p500a
yeah i like the mesh on the p500a
imagine if this is legit
yeah
ha lol new account
i wish i had a pc but since im still in my youth i need to convince my parents to even help me pay for it even if i had to take from my own money id gladly do it
ive worked 8-9 years for 3000 dollars and i could pay for some of the fees
I get that, It takes a lot of convincing for me to spend money on anything, really. I'm only 13 tho, so I run off allowance from doing chores
My PC is only around $400
Damn
I have a deal with my dad since corona started for every hour I work he gives me a certain amount and it goes from there for example if I worked half an hour I get certain amount
Idk how to convince my parents
I built my first PC when I was 15 and I first started with deciding how much I wanted to spend and how long I was willing to wait to save up for that budget then did chores around the house and various other odd jobs like mowing lawns for neighbors and power washing driveways and decks and such then when I had enough money saved I went to my parents and said "I've worked for the last several months (maybe a year. I forget exactly how long it took lol) to save up all this money. I want to spend it on parts to build my own computer." and they basically just said since it was my money that I earned I could spend it how I wanted
I see my parents are like yours except they probably think I’m gonna game a lot even though I’ve stopped for a while
you make my dad seem nice 😅
Lol that's what my mom said too, also my dad but he was more on board with it since he's an electrical engineer and has always been into computer and tech stuff so he basically said it would also be a good learning opportunity for me (plus he wanted to get in on some of the building as well lmao)
Lol
My dad is chill a lot of the times but he’s serious about it so that gives me the fright about it
if it's your first PC, and you're young, maybe don't spend 3k on it
i had to get my dad to help pay for my parts initially since my credit card limit was lower than the total cost so i get needing your parents to help/approve
And if they pay for it I’d obviously pay them back whatever they want me to pay back
ayyo this is a pretty pog desk
50 percent off
so if you get it while its on sale, you just got yourself a really nice table for 130
that weird rounded corner loses out on space
how many people have rounded corners in their rooms
good for wiring i guess but you should really put cable managing channels into the desk for that
can it hold a pc and 2 monitors
@cedar herald yeah i think it can if you mess around with the orientation
..
Changed the motherboard for what?
i think donsta and I would both like to know what the original and new choices are
Do you need a special motherboard for the new ryzen 5000 series
"special"? no
you need an updated bios
when you buy a new motherboard, it may come with that updated bios already
there's a table that notes which chipsets are compatible with zen 3
If you buy a new X570 or B550 board there is a good chance it'll have an updated BIOS. X470 boards will have limited support for Zen 3 through BIOS updates on various boards starting in late December or January
MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI aight maybe this one because i need a good motherboard that is compatible in the further
yuck, msi
are msi products not good
for the most part, on the motherboard side, they're good
the issue is MSI as a company has done a lot of shady stuff recently
like what
Ye
oh damn
😳
yuck, msi
@crimson scroll also a meme x570 board, lol
so speaking of motherboards would u rather have a asus mobo or a msi mobo
you need to pick a specific motherboard
b550
nvm
i dont wanna to be annoying im just new to the pc world but is this good i changed a couple of things and i can get these parts easly cus my country doesnt buyt pcs like a rtx 3070 3080 and 3090 are all in stock https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wGn9NP
so all the other parts for a pc i can get easly
eh. corsair ram is meh, zen 3 is coming out very soon so i'd wait for that
yeye i forgot to change that you told me to wait for it yesterday and im gonna
cus the zen 3 is best with rx 6800
don't forget about a psu
also only 1tb of storage
do you already have another ssd or hard drive that you're planning to put in the build
because 1tb of storage is really small considering how large games are
psu comes with case and i have a 3 tb hard drive
ye
eh. corsair ram is meh, zen 3 is coming out very soon so i'd wait for that
@crimson scroll should i get the hyperx fury kit ?
need to list a specific kit, not sure which one you're talking about
Hyperx Fury Hx432C16Fb3K2/16 Ddr4 (Kit 2X8Gb) 16Gb 3200Mhzcl15 Dimm 1Rx8, Zwart
62 euros
yeah, seems fine
okay and i just realized i tried to go away from msi and in the end i go back to msi
how much do ssd usually cost?
depends on the data transfer protocol, size, and form factor
yo u think my mobo is good for the rx 6800 or should i change?
motherboards and gpus have almost zero issues with compatibility
okay thanks so im set with my pc just waiting for zen 3 and the 6800
and "good" isn't really a way i would describe gpu and mobo interactions
as long as you plug it into a pcie x16 slot (which pretty much all consumer mobos should have), there's no issue
MAYBE you might run into lower performance with pcie 4.0 cards in a pcie 3.0 slot
but so far the performance hits are pretty minimal
however
your mobo is msi so
obligatory yuck
or maybe im gonna get the gigabyte b550I aorus pro ax
We're reviewing the PCB and build quality of the Gigabyte B550i Pro AX mini-ITX motherboard, talking about its capabilities and which Ryzen CPU is the best fit for the VRM.

seems pretty good
so a yes go or no go
uh
seems...pretty...good
i don't want to tell you to buy something explicitly (or not)
no no like if it do the job its good right??
unless the thing is a hazard
