@bold drum you need to consider ppi. something like a 1080p 21" is roughly comparable to 1440p 27", 105 vs 109 ppi. If you look at a 4k 32", that's 138 ppi
so really, even though you're going bigger and bigger, you've added enough pixels between 1440p and 4k to compensate and have a higher PPI

The 3060 will most likely going to be priced at 400? as long as you plug it into a pcie x16 slot (which pretty much all consumer mobos should have), there's no issue
MAYBE you might run into lower performance with pcie 4.0 cards in a pcie 3.0 slot
but so far the performance hits are pretty minimal
