maybe the arctic is louder?
and like i said, i don't know anything about the mars fans
you're missing the point
now that i think about it, i've never really cared for fan noise
i just put headphones on and leave my fans at 100%
lol
I have the arctic F12 fans in my PC actually
cool
Anybody know what "XC" and "KO" mean in terms of graphics card
PING ME TOO
XC is just EVGA's way of branding stuff. KO means that that specific series of 2060 uses a pared down 2080 chip, the TU104 instead of TU106 @noble oak
XC means triple slot i believe
a larger heatsink
XC and KO aren't necessarily exclusive, EVGA just didn't make a 2060 XC KO model
there's the 2070 XC Black Gaming and the 2070 Black Gaming
it's just an additional modifier if you will
Anyone know how to fix live kernel event 141
How does saucy still have the rookie role he’s always answering our questions 😂
Anyways how my final part list look?
i would get a more airflow focused case
also the sn550 is the same price as the wd blue right now
i'd get that
do you care about rgb @noble oak
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cjY8Dx i would go for something like this, turn off the rgb if you don't like it, and maybe add a 120mm exhaust fan
Oh dude don’t worry about the case it has 2 modes I can remove the top panel and side one to a mesh one for air flow
but RHB isn’t a worry)
*RGB
Oh thanks dude! For sure will check it out
Yea, I’ll switch out my SSD too. It said it has fast boot up times, and really I picked the SSD the fastest
yeah
you won't notice a difference between the wd blue and sn550 in most consumer tasks
but hopefully games start making use of those faster speeds, and at the same price, why not get the better drive, right?
Yea, and the case looks pretty good. Matches my desk color, but I’ll check it out
Thanks again!
np
Saucy, planning on getting the non RGB since the RGB fans really aren’t gonna look good when it’s the only things RGB
Is there any downsides to that?
thank you
XC means triple slot i believe
@crimson scroll all the Ultras are triple slot
XC is just the best founders card
yeah i just learnt about it yesterday lol
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6RjCHB what do you think of this build
no
no what
cpu mainly
ok i will with something better
Personally i'd rather use intel, and get an (internal) SSD instead of a second HDD
there's a lot more wrong with the list
yeah um
that list is...interesting
32gb of ram with a 9th gen i3
what's your budget @gusty torrent
and what are you using the PC for
oh this for the future no rn
gaming
then yeah, this sucks. no offense
@gusty torrent don't get an i3 lol. At the very least get an AMD Ryzen 3 3300 with a B450 ATX motherboard. If you go with an R3 3300 there's no need for a third party CPU cooler as the one boxed with the 3300 will be more than adequate. You only need 16GB of RAM, not 32, and you need at least one small SSD for storage even if you keep an HDD for mass storage of files, games, etc.
but i am thinking of a new one
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6RjCHB alright i made hopefully a better one i am not going to actually build this this is just for show but if you guys like it i will build it in the future
woops let me give you the right one
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6RjQHB alright here you go no one go to it untill i say its the right thing
alright its the right thing
wow the link is only one character different
one, get a cheaper ssd. A p1, sn550, sn750, etc. will be cheaper and pretty much equivalent, especially for gaming
two, a 1660 super will be only like twenty bucks more than the 1660. use the money saved from the SSD for that
sorry wrong thing again i dont know why its not working properley
3, the lian li lancool non mesh is meh for thermals. if you like the looks and can't give it up, whatever, but i recommend the lancool II mesh version or another airflowf ocused case
oh and 4, don't get the 3600x
the regular 3600 is 60 bucks cheaper
beat me to it
and can OC to the same perf, minus maybe like 0.5%
but it's a much better list for gaming
hold on that was the wrong one
Lol k
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ alright let me make sure this will go to the right i will tell you when you can go to the link
alright its the right thing i am sure
so what do you think
Dude
Read what rafee said
That's the link to edit... It's not a unique parts list
It just pulls up everybody's system builder list
We won't see what parts you put
copy the bottom one not the top one
firefox, nice

i was copying that one but it was bringing me to a build that was not mine
i was sure
sure
the tomahawk max is around 120, which brings the total to 890 before the psu gets added in
pretty close to your original list price, with double the storage
and you can always add a hard drive later if you need more
yeah sorry to tell you this but my budget is around 2k usd you dont have to make me a new one if you dont want to but you can if you want to and if you are gonna i will be using the pc for gaming and streaming
oh sorry i wasn't thinking strait i just said yes to what you said without thinking
at a 2k budget we can go 2080super
ok well just send the link
i'd recommend putting in a 2x16gb kit instead of 4x8
32gb of b die memory, one of the top tier liquid coolers, a 2080 super, 1tb of one of the best nvme 1.3 ssds, and a nice rgb case
it's too much stress on the IMC
b die tho
after factoring in the prices that aren't displayed its about 1930
650w is fine for that honestly
i really like it but quick question this is full pc build just the pc i am just wondering
also do you think that the case can change but still compatible just have a price tag on it
there is also some compatibility issues so if you can please fix that
^^
oh ok
yes this will be my pc in the future except for one question is a full build yes or no
by full build you mean if all the parts are in the list?
like all the parts a pc needs to run properly and also give me your rating do you think this is high end or low end or like in the middle
it doesn't have a monitor, wifi card/ethernet cable, mouse, keyboard, headset
and yeah, zero compatibility issues
ok good then this will be my build for the future
if you wanted productivity, it's medium-high
really good gpu for encoding and stuff, but you can do better on the cpu
and for gaming it's top tier, you'd see improvements going to intel but i wouldn't, too expensive
also, i would strongly recommend 1440p 144hz, 4k 60hz, or 4k 120hz monitors for this setup
thank you guys because i was about to by a streaming pc and gaming pc pre built from corsair and it was like gonna be almost 7k usd
streaming yes gaming the a4100
well, this is a single pc setup
thats ok
hi
hi
hru
oh that was my friend
do you need pc help
he has a whole fortnite setup
i'll take that as a no
what you don't believe me its ok if you don't
i don't care if you don't believe me
i didn't say i didn't believe you
read my previous messages
reading comprehension has not been a strong suit of the people in this channel
is it because he shortend how are you to 3 letters
reading comprehension has not been a strong suit of the people in this channel
ooh he might be me
is it because he shortend how are you to 3 letters
he asked if you need pc help
you replied with something else
he took that as a no
np dude
oh @devout wolf i like the pc that was built for me
I assume english isn't your first language?
i'm glad you like it
i am american but i am technally more uk than american
@devout wolf i wonder what the average age of the people who ask for builds in here is
hopefully >12 because otherwise that is not very Discord TOS
I've been in the discord a while, and from what I remember it's mostly been teenagers who've saved up enough money
the grammar and general naivety makes me wonder if they can afford it
Bruh
i definitely couldn't afford my keyboard if i didn't get a great deal on it
Oh yeah saucy muted me :p
well, i can afford it but i wouldn't have money after
Ha
hey @devout wolf show me what pc you have right now with pc part picker or what pc you want in the future
my current list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/RafeeSamith/saved/#view=chLZf7
i don't really have a plan for what i want in the future, when my pc stops serving my purpose, i will upgrade
ok
It's wild that two generations ago the top tier card had 6gb vram
@devout wolf give me your rating do you think its high end gaming low end gaming or in the middle gaming
mine? mid range
ok
Quick question (first build) is it hard plugging in all the fans, and generally just building it altogether?
I’m really nervous about wiring and plugging in the fans, and USB ports in the top of my case
nah
It's not very hard at all imo. The hardest part is planning where you're going to connect each fan to what header so that you can cable manage easier
yeah, that
there's a certain order you follow for most parts
but it depends on your case, what cpu cooler you choose, what fans, etc
if you want, when you're ready to build you can ask us and we can help
That’s gonna be so helpful thank you
My new 144hz Monitor is here
cool
no
why
Userbenchmark is a meme
correct
Big meme
?
^^
what?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HYs4cq that’s my build
uhh guys for this case called:Lian Li Lancool II Mesh ATX Mid Tower Case
does is come with the 3 fans here?
Also do i need fans to be placed here?
Ping to tell me
google is your friend
also, no, you don't NEED fans to be installed at the bottom, but they can help with gpu cooling @noble oak
i literally just searched for the lian li lancool II mesh and went to lian li's page
product pages tell you a lot of what you need to know
this picture, combined with the product info of 2 140mm and 1 120mm fans, should tell you if it comes with the three in the picture you saw
Soooo
soooo....think about it
what fan configurations does the case support in the front
Fans
A lot of em
what sizes
Up to 3
up to 3 of what size
Yes
wrong
well, it's an important life skill
Yes
so we know it can support 3x120mm fans in the front
now, the picture you linked has 3 fans in the front
therefore, they must be what size
2 140mm
no
And 1 120mm
the fans in your picture are all the same size
Oh
so what size are they in the picture
correct
and as you just pointed out, the included fans listed are 2x140 and 1x120
so can that picture be the fans included by default?
Probably
use your brain
think about it
the picture has 3x120mm fans
the included fans are 2x140mm and 1x120mm
this is basic logic
Yes
so you're saying 140mm and 120mm fans are the same size
No I’m not
then how can the 2x140mm and 1x120mm fans included with the case, become 3x120mm fans in the picture
they're all the same size in the picture you linked
the ones that come with the case, are not all the same size
so think about it
Yeah
can that configuration in the picture you linked be created from the stock fans provided?
you're trolling me
No I’m just somehow Braindead
Yes

Stupid question. Can I plug an Ethernet cable directly into my router? Just making sure I don’t need a switch. It’s only for 1 device (my PC).
Wireless is getting to be pretty inconvenient
yes you can
Ok thanks @noble oak lol
Yep. Most routers have at least 4 ethernet ports for connecting multiple devices so you shouldn't have any problems plugging in just your PC
it's interesting that we're at the point where people know wireless more than wired
Yeah. When WiFi 6 goes mainstream that will probably be enough for the vast majority of people, even hardcore gamers. Of course then there's people like me who will take a wired connection over wireless any day lol
i just use wireless because its more convenient for my family
i had no use for ethernet until this point where im streaming and i cut out because of how weak the connection is
Should i get a double monitor mount?
If you don't use a laptop yea
k
Tip #1 watch linus tech tips xd
lel
Don't just order parts and don't know what to do with it xd
True, they make vids for people who already understand it
gonna be honest
i feel like anthony is the only one in ltt that knows what he's doing
and steve
True
yep
hardware unboxed pretty good
can someone check my pcpartpicker list
also do you guys know the difference between the h510i h510 elite and h510
h510i = h510 with an LED strip
h510 elite = h510i with a glass front and rgb fans
which just means they have rgb and a controller
the h510 is...fine, but requires brute airflow
i'm excited for the lian li lancool 215
will be $70 like the h510 except with airflow
2x200 argb fans in the front and 1x120 in the rear
mesh front ofc
p300a competition huh
nice
tbh there's a lot of cases there already, but only coolermaster really messes with 200mm fans
Is the i5 or a Ryzen 5 better combo with the 2060 super?
Someone sexy here
Can build me a pc
For 1500aud?
Preferably for gaming
I’ll pay u 5 dollars PayPal if u do
Should I get a 2060 super still or is there a better card ($400 dollar budget for GPU)
i5 9600k
and which r5
Ryzen 5 6 core thread 12 something
you likely mean the r5 3600, correct?
Yes
the 3600 would be a better choice
you should be comparing the 10400 or 10600k, those are the most recent gen i5
and even then i would still probably pick the 3600, it'll most likely be cheaper, and better for several types of productivity work
while being close enough for gaming
alright. Im really planning to upgrade my PC in the near future to an i7 and a 3000 series card
what are you using your pc for
and if you're gonna upgrade, then why get something now
i will point out that a 10600k will OC to stock 10900k performance
no point in getting an i7
there really isn't apart from name value
if your focus was more on productivity, then you'd choose a 3700x or 3900x instead
if you want to save money, then you pick the 3600, which is usually 10-20fps fewer than the 10600k, but also is cheaper in terms of both the cpu and the cooling solution
150 frames is enough for me so the FPS drop isn’t really a problem, anyways thanks for the advice
np
Saucy which version of the 5700 xt should I buy?
whatever's cheap, and not the evoke
sapphire makes decent ones but they're usually like 50-70 bucks more
the thicc II should be okay now that they've supposedly fixed its issues
basically post it here and i'll let you know if its okay
I see, spent like 30 minutes looking at videos and boy your right about the frames!
40+ more
XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB THICC III Ultra video card
it's fine
Alright thanks dude!
it is pretty bad thermally, but not as bad as the thicc II
and you can mod it to be better
Saw a lot of bad reviews on cooling for the 2060
The only thing I saw bad about this card is the drivers
see if you can find a powercolor red devil or gigabyte card for around the same price as the thicc
@crimson scroll you are spending wayyy to much for that build
you dont really need an nvme
get a 1tb ssd
you dont need a cooler unless you want to do some overclocking which really isnt needed with the r5 3600 (also i would go for a AIO for that price)
c) thats the MOST EXPENSIVE micro ATX board ive seen. not necessary
you know that's in AUD right
australian dollar
the link is au.pcpartpicker
you dont need a cooler unless you want to do some overclocking which really isnt needed with the r5 3600 (also i would go for a AIO for that price)
this is true tho
i was already close to 1500 anyways so i figured might as well throw in the cooler
but yes it's optional
buy apex pro instead of cooler
lol
YEA LMAO

doesn't exist on au pcpp
a d15 is overkill for a 3600 anyways
LMAO not sure why you're saying that when the be quiet you're getting is the same price
at least on US amazon
us dollars =/= aud dollars
its about 1 to 0.7
the d15 is 178 on au amazon, the dark rock i linked is 120
i appreciate the help but next time check what region it's in and recognize that even with conversion rates, prices still may be more or less expensive than the US
you must be new to internet
pls understand us citizens are selfish
only thinks around their country
pepega citizens
i'm a us citizen lmao
exceptions dont break rules
Hey guys I’m new to building, I’m actually in the middle of building my first pc at the moment Rn. I think I did pretty good for the budget I had and I think I wanna upgrade somewhere down the line, just wanted some other thoughts on it
did you mean to post that in #archive-battlestations
nice cable management though
Oooooooof
That was my fault if that’s a problem @crimson scroll I asked them to post that
That’s a really nice build the retshot
Though*
yeah this is more for talking about pc builds and hardware and what to buy, the other one is for posting pretty pictures
all good though
its a i5-9400f so its not like im OC, im snagging an NH-L9i CPU cooler from Nocuta
why low profile
Im not the biggest fan of rgb
the h series of cases support bigger
looks over performance i guess?
Nah it will do what i need it to do plus some
¯_(ツ)_/¯
it fits the budget for this upgrade as well
im a graphic designer, i just need this to run Ai, Ps, and after effects
which one
He knows what I like though
well there are some improvements i would have made, but it's a nice system
Like what?
what price did you buy the 5500xt and mobo at
I mean I spent my budget and I’m getting a better heat sync too
253.94 us for the xt and mobo is 169.99
250 bucks can get you a 1660s which is better than the 5500xt
Huh... where are you looking?
How much did you spend on the gpu
For that?
i would have done this
better first word latency ram, 3200cl16 > 3600cl19
the sn550 is faster than the WD blue Sata, and cheaper
I got my 1660 super for 200
the psu i added doesn't have a price but even the 750w version of it is only 125, as opposed to the 155 you were spending on the rosewill
and the motherboard has great vrms that can handle upgrades to 3700x, 3900x, etc
if you need wifi, i'd get a pcie wifi card instead of built in
I’m honestly not sure what watt my rosewill is it might be 750 tbh
How so
people have run 2080ti and i9-9900k on a 450w system before
obviously not ideal, but
your parts will have much lower power consumption
and the money you save by being more efficient at 50% load won't be more than the straight up money you save by buying a lower wattage psu
so a 550w or 650w psu will serve you just fine while being cheaper
@last fossil did you by chance check other websites and shop around for your parts to make sure you were getting the most bang for your buck?
I did a little but I didn’t really think to check with a group of people like you who have actually built RIGS
Like on discord or forums
Never occurred to me
^
So honestly cuz my pc now that I’m using is a toaster that can’t even toast bread. What do you think I can run with the new build I put together
Whatever you want
Easy 144hz 1080p esports titles
Like I could barely run borderlands 2
Probably 144hz 1440p honestly, I ran a 1060 6gb and the 5500xt is pretty comparable
30frames a sec
BL2 on 60fps ultra for sure
That’s amazing
Legit couldn’t even run Metroid prime with the program I use
That’s how bad
just make sure you have a monitor that can run 144hz
Google the exact tv and then look up its refresh rate
That will cap you to a certain FPS
Hold on I will rn
very unlikely it's a high refresh rate model
even if it was 120hz, it might be one of the ones that inserts a black frame or duplicates frames to make it fake 120hz
Like I have a 24” Samsung that’s max is 60, so I have 60 FPS cap
Which I’m fine with it’s a good monitor and I got it for free
All of my other peripherals are SS tho
Legit can’t find it
Can you find the model #
O
That old
Wow
Take a picture of it
Any tips for cheap monitors
I recommend the sceptre c24 144rn
You can get 1080p 75hz monitors for like 100 on sale
Also is duel monitoring worth it?
No. I would not recommend making your monitors fight to the death
Sauce boss can you please tell saucy raichu to unmute me
Joking aside, if it's worth it depends on what you're doing
For productivity, maybe
And it's nice to have discord/spotify/twitch/etc on a second monitor
But just for gaming, nah
Hey saucy I’m afraid I have to tell you that supreku would like you to unmute them
Not happening
Lol
I trolled once and this is what I get
The more he proxies the message and avoids the block, the more I will ignore it
Hey says not happening
Oh
Stop using random people to relay messages. It defeats the purpose of the block and its annoying
@noble oak I would still switch out the case but I know you've mentioned you'll convert the panels and you like the look anyways
Any particular reason you're going ultra high refresh rate
Yea, I heard "higher the refresh rate the better" but yes no particular reason for it.
That’s really really high
You can get 1440p 144hz for that price which is a better balance imo
You'll notice 144 to 240+ but not as much as 60 to 144
I agree with saucy
1440p? Fine with me, I’ll look into it some more. Thanks again
If you don’t balence out the parts that handle your refresh rate I feel like it puts more strain on your cpu load which I hate
No prob
@last fossil that depends but generally yes, resolution is more gpu bound and refresh rate is more cpu bound, when you try to increase either
That’s why I balance out my stuff and just kinda go the way I went
Or at least try too
Emphases on tried
But is there any place @crimson scroll that you would grab a monitor from
Not Newegg
Their dead pixel policy is garbage
Newegg eBay is okay since eBay makes them actually have cs
Pretty much anywhere is fine, just check their warranty and policy
I have never trusted eBay never will
Ebay is very customer focused
I mean the actual ebay stores
Not the auctions
And they 99% of the time side with customers, that's why so many eBay scams happen to people who try to sell on ebay
I don't mean physical stores
Amazon?
So then what should I be looking for considering I’m not gonna duel monitor I guess and what size do you think
4K
HDR?
Well yea
My pc is perfectly fine for rn imma upgrade my pc down the line
I know
I'm saying your monitor will likely outlive your pc
In terms of when it's obsolete
So you spend more on the monitor now
And it'll still be relevant when we consider the 5500xt a trash tier gpu
True that
Lemme go and check some monitors I’ll be right back and I’ll message you some monitors
if you want image quality, go IPS/VA. if you want speed for esports, go TN
VA will have better contrast, worse ghosting. IPS will have the best colors overall, but IPS glow/bleed. TN has the worst colors, best panel speed
with modern high quality panels, most of the negatives are mitigated though
second two have meh stands
first one is overpriced
last one seems alright if you like ultrawide, but make sure you check the specs on that
"up to 200hz" may mean you need to turn down the res to get 200hz
you should unless you're planning to replace the stand with a vesa mount
but refresh rate, brightness (nits), screen size, resolution, color accuracy, and response time (gtg, input lag) are what you should be looking at
5 milliseconds is the response time (gtg). 200hz refresh rate, brightness is 270 cd/m2, color gamut is 90%, resolution 2560x1080, screen size 30”, couldn’t find the input lag @crimson scroll
Or brightness
But I think I got everything
250 bits
Nits
And the input lag is just below 5ms
@crimson scroll
Since you guys are on the topic of Monitors, im stuck between two different monitors. The first is $180 and the second one is $160
that doesn't link to anything for me
^^
@last fossil seems fine
so im building a computer and dont know which cables i all need. the manual is confusing aswell
all the cables you need should be included with your parts
yes but there is so many
idk what i all need
theres like 3 gpu cables
2 cpu cables
gpu cables will be with the psu
i'd suggest watching a build guide or reading this one by nzxt http://buildapc.nzxt.com/
you only need how many are on your GPU
Gigabyte 2070 super
and they're attached to your power supply/in the box if it's modular
fully modular
yes
sure
wait
im getting white asiahorse cables
should i just wait for them to come tomorrow
And then could you help me out please?
right
oh so i still need to connect the main ones
yep
yeah they're extensions
ight
Alright for aesthetics if none of my parts are RGB, and the case fans are should I get the RGB fans or non RGB? (Just saying if I get RG fans I get 3 with the case and if not I get 2)
it's up to you lol
I dont know tho you see. It'll look ok, but I just want more opinions
i mean if you get more fans with RGB then do that sure
it's not like less RGB looks bad
yep
true yes thank you
you're talking about the p400a drgb right
i would pick the rgb one since you get better airflow, and you'll want to buy another fan for the non rgb anyways
Yes.
Love it when New Egg costs the Non RGB one with 1 less fan at 69.99 and the RGB ones at 89.99
Alright well, RGB ones are out of stock and aren't showing up for compatible products. Non RGB P400A it is! (Hopefully it shows up if it's in stock again, I think thats how it works idk)
lmfao
9 days for a case to arrive what-
that's not too much
ok so this is my current setup
but I really need some help about this disaster
any tips?
cable runways sound good
I might also get a pack of cable managing that has zip ties, and such
witch ever work good for you
good luck
so i live in germany atm and couldnt find any at a reasonable price, and they didnt look good
can you help me out? maybe send a link?
or maybe try to find on on the german amazon amazon.de
Alright
Velcro >zip ties
Reusable
And if you mess up you don't waste them
A 50 pack is like 3 bucks on eBay to the US, free shipping
Is the Aus Tuf Gaming B550 M Plus Wifi better than my originally planned MSI B450 Tomohawk Max with an Wifi card?
nah
unless you really need next gen pcie i guess
why the hell wont my gpu and case arrive yet
they said it would ship today
yet it didnt even ship
shipping services are delayed
there's this tiny little thing called covid
kinda messing everything up
Hi
I just checked the wattage of my pc and it’s 500. I’m looking to upgrade to an rtx 2070 but idk if it’s enough. My cpu right now is an i7 8700, 16 gb 3600 ram
The gpu I have rn is a gtx 1060
its enough
yeah, it's fine
who is the covid and why is he 19
bad joke
yep
um guys
I was told I need to hotwire my computer
because i test built it outside
how do I do that
hi how can i tell if my parts are compatible
would it be dumb to OC a laptop temps in reason 66c
+135 Core clock
+180 on memory
but i cant control Volt ( not like i would add any, V is locked in BIOS and i cant control it
@little igloo you can use pcpartpicker.com to create your list of parts and it will tell you if everything is compatible or if you need to change something
@autumn cairn do you mean you put the components together outside of a case? If your mobo doesn't have an onboard switch to turn it on you'll need to jump start the power switch using something small and metal. There's tutorials online that will have better explanations
Ehm maybe a 2070 or a 2070 super
ok, ill look it up
But I would wait till the 3000 series are coming
^^
maybe thats a smart idea
what cpu do you have?
bro its you!
If you want to save $100 go with an RX5700XT over a 2070 Super. Same performance just way cheaper unless you're willing to pay a premium for Raytracing @ashen tusk
my car pfp fella
ayyy

@static pecan sounds good
things you get with nvidia:
-ray tracing
-DLSS
-NVENC encoder (useful for streaming)
-CUDA (for machine learning and stuff)
if you don't need any of these go with a 5700xt, or don't since rtx 30 series is right around the corner
and stable drivers for the most part
Guys I need help I am trying to build a good gaming and work pc but I can’t find a good motherboard. My budget is $800-$950.
I would change the kraken x53 for an EK aio or arctic liquid freeze II; also get a SN550 or crucial p1 for the same price as that WD blue
also, why the double triple packs of LL fans and then the single p12?
@light raptor https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Qw9RrV
after adding about 95 for the case and 100 for the psu, that'll come out to roughly 920
how much of a difference is there from the 2060 super to the 2070 super & is it worth $100
2080ti or bust
my question still isnt answered pls
one say's 70 and one says 60
User does the job
im fine with spending $500, id just prefer if i didnt have to lol
what res and refresh rate is your monitor klexos
a 2060 super should be able to handle 1080p 144fps for most titles, a 2070 super can do 4k 60fps
alternatively, a 5700xt is slightly worse than a 2070 super, and will cost about $400ish
welp rip, two of my gpu fans killed themselves
Hello, I need a budget pc. The best pc for max 500 Pounds
Someone please check that but I think that will be decent build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Fy8y6R
remember 500 pounds = like 650usd
pog?
I want to steal that kraken
I'm getting myself new PSU when I get money
and probably new keyboard :D
the pc i have right now is good enough for what i do, but if my streaming kicks off, i want to build a really decked out computer and idk if i should do water cooling or keep it regular
i got a water cooler (kraken x73) for my cpu (3800x). it was getting kinda toasty so direct rather than fan cool i found to be a little bit more effective
i do be liking that gpu @noble oak
hey, any help? i got 1500$ CAD which i think is about 1100$ USD and im trying to build a good PC here
You can easily smash a good set up together with that budget.
My PC all in was 1200 gbp
Which is 2096 cad? Wow
Thought it was similar ratio
😅
Yeah but UK is bad so it'll still probably be about 1500cad
Well 1200, is 2096 CAD apparently. Which is surprising but you can get a decent kit for 1500 anyway! Just use pc builder and you'll be able to find builds for your budget
@balmy grail So how are the temperatures now with kraken? Is is worth ? 😄
lemme pull up the tracker graphs and stuff
imma put it on 100% load for a sec and show you how stable it is
i can have my cpu at full load and its stable between 65-70c
before i was using the base prism cooler that came with it and at less loads was hitting 85c+
20% load and hover at 50-55c, but you see the biggest improvements in the upper extremes
I'm at about 70c with an i9-9900k at full load with a Noctua air cooler
Drawing in 210W of power ish
At 4,7 GHz
I could prob OC a bit
Stuff just arrived poggers
nice
I want
No
Why
@sick sail which ryzen 5? and what speed and cl is the ram?
Yes @sick sail
assuming you mean the r5 3600, yes
a 2600, still yes
a 1600, meh
and the locked oem/non us chips, it depends
inb4 1400
people need to learn to be specific when talking about hardware
or anything, really
Hi guys new to chat. Here’s my new build
Looks sweet
Thank you
In my dreams I have that
But is that a Razer mouse 😡
Yes I’ve just ordered the new steelseries keyboard and mouse
Chairs being replaced I’ve had it nine months
Secret labs Titan
A decent chair
Seen so many streamers using them so I had to ... cannot wait for the steel series to arrive though 💯💯
marketing is working then
Lol.
🤣🤣
more questions for you guys, whats the best/your go to 144+ hz monitor preferably below $250 but up to $300
i got this one for 80 usd on black friday https://pcpartpicker.com/product/HBRzK8/aoc-c24g1-240-1920x1080-144-hz-monitor-c24g1
yeah a lot of those got sold at microcenter when i worked there
might not be a good monitor, but at entry level, i couldnt argue with the price
fair enough
the only thing i hate about it is when the screen is dark, theres these white "ghosts" on the screen
thats kind of why ive given so much of my budget for the monitor, i already have 2 60hz that im going to use on the side so i want a really high quality monitor for my main one
This is what I'm doing for my PC, if anyone has any suggestions https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gWBYvW
already have a 500gb SSD & a 2 tb hard drive, which is why I'm only buying the one extra NVME SSD
Klex maybe see what it’s like with Corsair vengeance tam
Ram*
Also
Screw the fans and get bean cooled pc
LOL
its about the same price with corsair ram because i want 32 gb
as long as everything is below 2k im fine, it can go a little over but ill be sad about it
Hmmm
You want to stream with that right?
Maybe 2080 super instead of 2060? Would be pushing it but definitely worth it
streaming would be on my current pc, games only on the new one
need to eventually have a monitor in the price of the pc parts too otherwise i would lol
Ahh ok
Maybe little bit weaker CPU and better GPU then?
i want to do a dual pc set up but i want the new one to not need to be upgraded for a while
would it be worth it to go for the 2070 super?
i know stuff about like mid tier parts but this stuff is over my head LMAO
xD
2060 2070 2080 are all good
What do you have in your current pc
For graphics card
Hmmmmm
Maybe lower the quality of the gpu and cpu on the one you wanna build. Get a 2070 and a good 240hz monitor
Would be pushing It though
the only reason i want to stay under 2k is because i want to use the remaining $400 of my budget to buy a secretlabs lmao
but i have like a month or so before im going to buy anything so ill have more savings
Actually
ill probably just get a 240 hz & the 2070 super and cry about not having any money
Maybe just wait for prices to drop?
Everything expensive af atm cuz of the pandemic
Just wait for everything to calm down
And then everything will be cheaper
maybe yeah but ive already waited an unbelievable amount of time to upgrade so my pc is uh 😅
Also, maybe wait for 30xx series
Aight just go for it then I guess.
Oh wait no nvm, they only show high-end stuff on beginning
i have the money to so ive just kind of accepted paying higher prices
plus itll be a nice birthday present to myself
PC upgrade is always nice present
Then go fir it.
Get a 2070 maybe a 2080 if your willing
And get a capture card unless you already have one
From what I've read 2070 is not a good deal and 2070S is WAAAAY better
Just ask for a fee headset from steelseries then sell it. Free money
Jk
Lol..... unless?
Why do you need 2 headsets :o
ones for my ps4 & switch & the other is for my pc
i dont want to set up my arctis pro wireless each time i want to go from pc to ps4
And you don’t wanna be that person that uses tv sound
I didn't get free one but it was aaaalmost free. 200$ for arctis pro with gamedac is almost free
i mean i do sometimes
i have a 65" samsung qled
its a nice tv
lol
i need to get a soundbar for it tho
That always confuses me why pc players want speakers? They use headsets to listen so what are the speakers for? Astheitic?
Well depends
Before I got arctis pro I had to plug my headphones via jack trough speakers
You play on pc?
Yes
So your pc case didn’t have an audio jack?
It had, but cable was too short
Ahh ok
also if you are watching a movie or something with someone
But on a. Monitor?
Also sometimes I had a vibe where I just took off headphones and listened to music lol
Just get a tv if your willing to spend a grand on speakers
i never ever use my monitors speakers
my old roommate would only use his headset if he was gaming & would play his youtube videos so loud that you could hear it across the entire apartment
dont understand them
i got cheap monitors so they dont even have speakers lmao
ok so real talk monitor brands which should i be looking at are there any that are actually bad
they were lioke £60 each
are LG monitors ok?
Kinda off topic but, is there a steelseries cable for gamedac that is longer than one we get in box?
Yes LG monitors are okay
Klex LG are good ASU’s are good.
200 dollar
i could also pay for half of my chair with it
Ya
if i really wanted to slim down the cost i could switch my AIO & get a cheaper case but
i want the fractal design define 7 :(
Are there any good 120$ mechanical keyboards worth getting? Would love to go with steelseries but apex 5 is not fully mechanical and apex 7 is little bit too expensive.
are you using the 12% off codes when youre determining price?
our partnered streamer codes
are they the ones on honey?
