Where's the battery

#

Anyone know ?

clear jacinth
#

which battery?

#

from the motherboard?

low vigil
#

Apparently it's under the gpu

#

So I have to do the other way

#

Clr_cmos

clear jacinth
#

take the gpu out

low vigil
#

Clr_cmos didn't fix it either :(

#

I guess I have to send it in for repair

naive dagger
#

Uh oh

low vigil
#

Unless a genius here can help me

naive dagger
#

Not me lol

unborn kiln
#

Unless a genius here can help me
@low vigil I am no genius but can you tell me the issue?

low vigil
#

@unborn kiln pc starts but no info on monitor, problem arised yesterday

crimson scroll
#

I forgot if you said this but you just reseated the ram, right

#

Didn't unplug anything else

low vigil
#

@crimson scroll I just released them, cleaned and put it back into its place

#

I've got 3 new cables now

crimson scroll
#

How exactly did you clean them

low vigil
#

Dp hdmi and VGA

crimson scroll
#

Apart from heatsinks getting dusty maybe they shouldn't need cleaning

low vigil
#

With an earwax cleaner

#

Im gonna try these now

#

The monitor works if you're asking that

crimson scroll
#

with...an earwax cleaner???

#

you mean a q tip?

elfin zealot
#

a cotton bud

crimson scroll
#

well, if that's the case, make sure none of the fibers got caught on the contacts i guess

#

for future reference, you generally want to use compressed air because you're not touching anything and there's a lower risk of you leaving cloth or paper fibers somewhere

low vigil
#

I've tried HDMI now

#

Tried connecting to both graphics card and Motherboard

#

No result

#

Let's try the brand new dp cable now

#

Nope didnt work

#

Must be something wrong with the motherboard

#

@crimson scroll what do u reckon

#

Bricked motherboard ?

crimson scroll
#

maybe

crimson scroll
#

have you tried testing different sticks and in different slots

low vigil
#

@crimson scroll yep

#

Tried all slots available

#

I'm taking to service tomorrow

crimson scroll
#

k

low vigil
#

İ love you

#

😂

crimson scroll
#

no need to be rude

low vigil
#

@crimson scroll sorry

rich sedge
#

any advice for cable management?

rich sedge
#

(im going to overclock the cpu)

hexed grove
#

Seems good 👍

#

Is this your first PC?

#

Man, everything has gone to shit in price

#

Which sucks

#

Compel

#

Change your SSD to the Sabrent Rocket Q 1TB NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 Internal SSD High Performance Solid State Drive R/W 3200/2000MB/s (SB-RKTQ-1TB)

#

@rich sedge

#

Cheaper

crimson scroll
#

@rich sedge zip ties or velcro straps help a lot

#

also, a 3600 and motherboard would probably be cheaper than the intel i5 you picked. with a 1660 super, you're not going to be hitting the points where you'd see meaningful fps differences

hexed grove
#

since the other one has hecka tons of bad reviewsw

#

this one has more features

#

and it fits well with my build, since my build is black

crimson scroll
#

it'll go on sale frequently for around 130

#

the non heatsink version

#

you won't really need the heatsink unless you're constantly transferring very large files

pulsar fossil
#

So there's lots of ways of doing it

lament sand
#

I just want to put it on a shelf on the wall and I already have precise ideas, I only need a wireless mouse and keyboar

pulsar fossil
#

Ah okay

noble oak
#

Man it's been a rough week

#

Some day soon I'll have my cpu block so I can get on with the build

clear jacinth
#

with water and food

noble oak
#

water and food xD

#

what is water and food
i live off the universes energy and rgb

#

@low vigil oh it works just fine im just waiting for a waterblock for my 3900x so i can finish the setup

#

unfortunately with the current world health crisis its going to be a while

#

@clear jacinth that 2080Ti right there is like a Juicebrick its the caprisun of this pc

#

unfortunately my arctic pros have a crack in them right around the hinge

crimson merlin
#

O:

sinful crypt
#

@crimson scroll how much of a performance boost would getting 3600 ram over my current 3000?

crimson scroll
#

not much probably

#

depends on the subtimings and what cpu you're using

#

but for the most part upgrading other stuff will have a larger benefit

sinful crypt
#

i9-9900k

#

Theres not much for me to upgrade honestly, the 2080 TI, the CPU, the 2 SSDs

#

What else would I look at?

crimson scroll
#

i mean, if you want to, go for it i guess

#

get some samsung b die and overclock it

rich sedge
#

yo i chose new stuff

sinful crypt
#

?

rich sedge
#

tell me what you guys think about it

crimson scroll
#

i still disagre with that 970 evo plus choice like the other guy

rich sedge
#

why

crimson scroll
#

you can get a p1 for like 109 or a sn750 for 130 and you won't notice the difference unless you do large video transfers frequently

#

and even then, the sn750 is very comparable to the 970 evo plus

#

also, i'd pick a 3600 and b450/b550 motherboard over a 9600k and z390

sinful crypt
#

Damn, websites lists corsair CMW32GX4M4C3200C14 is overclockable, but i have the CMW32GX4M2C3000C15

crimson scroll
#

i mean

#

you can still try overclocking it

#

also, that link doesn't have everything

#

my sku is f4-3400c16q2-64gtz, but the only tridentz listed on there is f4-3400c16d-32gtz

#

and mine is confirmed bdie by thaiphoon burner

sinful crypt
crimson scroll
#

if you click all kits it might show

sinful crypt
#

lemme check

crimson scroll
#

i'm gonna guess it's not bdie though, since it's 3000cl15

sinful crypt
#

feelsbad

#

so i should upgrade then

crimson scroll
#

if you wanna do the enthusiast thing and squeeze out an extra 1% yeah

sinful crypt
#

it states its "overclocked memory" on the page

crimson scroll
#

because it is

#

JEDEC spec is not that high

#

it's why you have to enable XMP to get 3000 or 3200 or most advertised speeds

#

they default to a safe voltage and frequency and timings defined by the manufacturer. motherboard makers work with the ram manufacturers to establish QVL that makes sure stuff is compatible, and at what speeds and voltages and timings. The list isn't the end all though, you can get stuff that's not on the list that works with your motherboard, since they can't test everything. In the same vein, you can usually also push your ram harder than they do since they want to make the list as accessible as possible

crimson scroll
#

yeah, it's fine

rich sedge
#

ok

rich sedge
#

remember kids rgb = more fps

crimson merlin
#

😆 lmao

rich sedge
#

you shouldn't buy a laptop

#

laptops run slower than desktops and cost the same amount as building a desktop

candid tangle
#

laptops are fine

#

gaming laptops though

rich sedge
#

yeah but not really for gaming

#

oH

#

oop

pulsar fossil
#

Depends on your need

#

Desktops aren't great if you need to move your PC every day

rich sedge
#

oh yeah

pulsar fossil
#

You also need to remember that you can't compare the price of a laptop directly against a desktop PC

#

A laptop includes a screen, keyboard and mouse

rich sedge
#

o

#

yeah

#

you would need to buy peripherals and a webcam

#

with a desktop

#

while laptops have included peripherals and webcam

unborn kiln
#

But remember a laptops keyboard and mouse will not be sufficient for gaming...

rich sedge
#

that aswell

pulsar fossil
#

Mouse, no

#

Some keyboards def works for gaming

rich sedge
#

yeah

#

but you can buy a mouse for a laptop

unborn kiln
#

No 100%

Some keyboards def works for gaming
@pulsar fossil

rich sedge
#

a steelseries mouse

pulsar fossil
#

I disagree @unborn kiln

unborn kiln
#

With?

pulsar fossil
#

That a laptop keyboard isn't fine for gaming

unborn kiln
#

I was agreeing with you on that point
There are 100% laptops with a sufficient keyboards

pulsar fossil
#

Ahh, fair. Just misunderstood you then :)

unborn kiln
#

No problem I see why

pulsar fossil
#

i have been saving for a new laptop does anyone know a company or a good budget gaming laptop
@noble oak what's your budget?

#

The Asus Zephyrus G14 have been getting great reviews

static pecan
#

The new TUF A15 is also pretty good

unborn kiln
#

Still wouldn't really buy one unless its a portability issue. Just my opinion

pulsar fossil
#

Yeah, you can get it with an R7, 1440hz, 1TB ssd, RTX 2060 and a 90WHr battery for 1350 usd

rich sedge
#

Yeah, you can get it with an R7, 1440hz, 1TB ssd, RTX 2060 and a 90WHr battery for 1350 usd
@pulsar fossil 1,440HZ?!

stuck bluff
#

Think he means 144

rich sedge
#

ok

#

i hope so

stuck bluff
#

So do I. 😂😂

bronze ferry
#

Hello world! I'm new on the server and discovering the channels !
I'm trying to """re-built""" a ooold pc, half of the components are missing, is anyone has some time to lose, I would be very grateful !

pulsar fossil
#

Haha, yeah, 144Hz @rich sedge :P

unborn kiln
#

Hello world! I'm new on the server and discovering the channels !
I'm trying to """re-built""" a ooold pc, half of the components are missing, is anyone has some time to lose, I would be very grateful !
@bronze ferry DM me I could potentially be of assistance.
Otherwise just continue with what you need over here

bronze ferry
#

That is extremely nice of you !! thank you :)

clear jacinth
#

ordered myself some new ram

#

gonna be a big upgrade for my system

unborn kiln
#

Whats your specs?

clear jacinth
#

amd a8-9600 4 core processor, gt 1030 2gb vram gpu, 8gb ddr4 2666mhz ram

unborn kiln
#

Nice looks like its coming along

clear jacinth
#

yessir

#

it's not the best but it does the job :)

unborn kiln
#

CPU next?

clear jacinth
#

well idrk yet

#

btw I ordered 16gb (2x8) 3200mhz corsair vengeance lpx

unborn kiln
#

Nice that sounds solid
Personally I went for the g sklill 16GB

clear jacinth
#

they were 64 euro's, they were very cheap imo so I thought I'd just buy them

unborn kiln
#

Yeah
But they are solid

pulsar fossil
#

Have a friend whos PC specs are: i7-4770, 16GB DDR3, R9 380X 4G, 650W PSU.
Wouldn't a GPU upgrade with a 2070 Super be a good choice?

static pecan
#

Since the CPU is older I think an RX5700XT would be a better choice. MSRP is about $100 cheaper than a 2070 Super for the same performance

unborn kiln
#

The Radeon gpus are better imo

static pecan
#

When compared directly against a 2070 Super there's no noticeable difference in performance between the two. The only reason I can think of for paying $100 more is to get Raytracing which is still pretty gimmicky at this point and also still an FPS killer even with DLSS 2.0

unborn kiln
#

Raytracing is the only big diff

rich sedge
#

nvm

static pecan
#

Plus the 5700XT absolutely wrecks the 2070 Super in Vulkan games lol

pulsar fossil
#

Nvenc is a big factor

sharp rover
#

Howdy

rich sedge
#

hel

#

lo

sharp rover
#

Lennart, remember me. I had the gtx1060 build some time ago

#

Just got an upgrade🤗

static pecan
#

Maybe, but honestly for just saving clips through ReLive AMDs encoder isn't a noticeable difference. If you're trying record or stream with OBS, however, then it might make some difference

#

I guess it comes down to is NVENC worth an extra $100

sharp rover
#

Got an rtx 2070 super to go with my i5 9600k 😎

rich sedge
#

hello

pulsar fossil
#

Nice @sharp rover

sharp rover
#

Thanks man!

#

With the death stranding code. Even thought it doesnt work and nvidia support is a pain in the butt

rich sedge
#

i dont understand why do i find rtx 2070 builds on pc part picker with a i5 9600k and it is like 1,115$

sharp rover
#

Im not sure @rich sedge

rich sedge
#

my brain scrunches up when i see those buidls

#

builds*

sharp rover
#

My build is around 1300€

#

But i only have 530w psu

rich sedge
#

o

#

well

#

im going

#

by bois

#

bye

sharp rover
#

I had to underclock my gpu because it draws too much power

#

And psu keeps crashing the pc

rich sedge
#

im going to play some valorant

#

also

sharp rover
#

Oky hf

pulsar fossil
#

How much is what@noble oak ?

#

Depends on the model

#

Also depends on which country you're in

#

The US?

#

I haven't tried it so make sure to check reviews

crimson merlin
#

o, I was about to get it actually

pulsar fossil
#

I've heard good things about it

#

Haven't tried it

pulsar fossil
#

@soft loom is the guy I'm helping with the upgrade

soft loom

rich sedge
#

im thinking of buying a 2 tb hdd for 120$ less the price than a 1 tb ssd so i can use the money i saved from the ssd to upgrade my gpu

#

also

#

e

static mountain
#

xd

crimson scroll
#

a 2tbhdd for 120 is a scam

#

oh, 120 less

#

yeah the ssd you had was overpriced anyways, you should still get an SSD for your OS though

#

it's a huge difference, even if you get a sata 550/500 drive

rich sedge
#

ok

#

so should i get the 2 tb hdd without an ssd?

naive dagger
#

i have a 2 tb hdd and a 240 gb ssd

#

that works great

rich sedge
#

so no ssd is fine?

naive dagger
#

i think having an ssd of some sort is much better

rich sedge
#

ok

#

but is it fine to not have one?

naive dagger
#

its fine not to have one, yes

crimson scroll
#

i mean, it's fine not to have one, but it would be weird not to, especially at that price point

#

it's such a quality of life improvement

clear jacinth
#

^

crimson scroll
#

pc building is about being balanced

#

you wouldn't pair a i9-9900k with a gt 1030

clear jacinth
#

I have 3.2tb of storage (3 different ssd’s) O-o

crimson scroll
#

in a similar vein, you shouldn't pair the system you're looking at with only a measly 150/150 hdd

naive dagger
#

saucy am i still muted by you

rich sedge
#

alr

#

ill buy prob a 1 tb hdd for the thing and ill buy a 250 gb ssd

naive dagger
#

That sounds excellent

clear jacinth
#

I installed new ram, and this showed up 😅 can someone maybe help?

#

oh and when I press f1 or esc, my pc just shuts down

#

my mobo supports ddr4 ram so i really don’t know what has happenend

devout wolf
#

i think it's more of a software issue than hardware

clear jacinth
#

ok so my old ram does work

#

this is kinda weird

#

@crimson scroll do you maybe know what's going on? 😅

lucid wigeon
#

you're gonna need a windows recovery drive to reinstall windows @clear jacinth

#

corrupted files is my guess but it can also be driver problems

#

could also have been malicious files

devout wolf
#

it is a driver problem

#

see if you can boot and disable driver signature enforcement

clear jacinth
#

in bios?

devout wolf
#

nah windows recovery options

lucid wigeon
#

yeah f11

clear jacinth
devout wolf
#

restart now

#

you have to boot into that with your new ram GWmythicalThonkCool

clear jacinth
#

so i need to restart that and then install my new ram?

#

or before i restart?

#

I'm just making sure I do the right thing yk

devout wolf
#

before you restart

clear jacinth
#

that's not gonna work bc my pc doesn't boot to windows with my new ram

devout wolf
#

press f8 while it's booting

#

it should go to the recovery options

clear jacinth
#

okay, thank you! I will try after I had dinner :p

clear jacinth
#

well it didn’t work

lucid wigeon
#

by new ram do you mean expanding the existing

#

or replace the existing

rich sedge
#

e

clear jacinth
#

replacing

#

I had ddr4 kingston 8gb 2666mhz 1 stick and I bought Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb (2x8) 3200mhx DDR4

#

and my motherboard only has 2 ram slots

devout wolf
#

hmm, which cpu and motherboard?

clear jacinth
#

not sure about the motherboard but amd a8 9600 4 cores

devout wolf
#

doubt it supports 3200mhz

clear jacinth
#

it’s a prebuilt so idk about most of it

zinc root
#

it supports 2400 mhz

#

i think its time to get new cpu lol

clear jacinth
#

yeah probably

devout wolf
#

new platform

zinc root
#

do you use old motherboard

#

or new motherboards

clear jacinth
#

it’s a pretty old and cheap one from asus

#

which is kinda obvious bc prebuilds

zinc root
#

what is it

#

maybe you can replace with fx series

devout wolf
#

iirc the 9600 is AM4

#

yep

clear jacinth
#

yup

devout wolf
#

and never buy an fx cpu

#

unless it's free

zinc root
#

wait a min

#

yes it is am4

clear jacinth
#

yeah

zinc root
#

sad

devout wolf
#

why sad? ryzen 4th gen is on am4 lmao

#

but i doubt the mobo can run ryzen or athlon

#

prebuilt™️ moment

clear jacinth
#

ikr

zinc root
#

sad bcz he needs to spend more money :c

clear jacinth
#

I told my dad the issue but he said the parts weren’t old because I have had it for 3 years

devout wolf
#

wait

clear jacinth
#

it’s outdated but he doesn’t believe me smh

zinc root
#

🤨

devout wolf
#

an a-series pc in 2017?

#

yikes

zinc root
#

i have ati radeon hd 3650

rich sedge
#

bruh

zinc root
#

sad

clear jacinth
#

to make it even worse: I have a gt 1030

#

which works fine for some games but uhh yeah... outdated

zinc root
#

gt1030

#

my gpu is literally 512mb

#

ddr2 vram

clear jacinth
#

mine is 2gb of vram

#

ddr5 i believe

zinc root
#

it can still run some games

#

not modern one but

#

you can play lot of games with it

#

you have good rams

#

what about purchasing new ryzen apus

#

4000 series

clear jacinth
#

well I would if I had money

zinc root
#

it probably will worth

#

i have money but i cant spend it smh

clear jacinth
#

lol

#

I bought an apex pro tkl recently so I’m kinda broke rn

zinc root
#

lol

#

i bought geek gk61 but i still have money for gpu

clear jacinth
#

nice

zinc root
#

but my dad wont buy it

#

pls make your dad buy you a new pc

#

i know your struggle

#

i used intel dual core pc for 10 years

loud oar
#

me too)

clear jacinth
#

bruh my dad isn’t gonna buy me €1200 pc because my old one is outdated lmao

#

my dad isn’t rich or something

zinc root
#

oh

#

i paid for ryzen 3 1200, a320m-a pro mb and corsair vengeance 8gb 3000mhz sticks 700tl

#

then just collect money and buy new one by yourself

#

😎

clear jacinth
#

gotta take a few years but I’m on it already

clear jacinth
#

So i've contacted support from the people who I bought the prebuild from, hopefully they can help :p

naive dagger
#

my new monitor is arriving saturday

rich sedge
#

im trying to get 750 gb of hdd and 500 gb of ssd is that a good idea?

naive dagger
#

yes

radiant viper
#

why not 1,5 tb ssd may I ask

clear jacinth
#

bc it's more expensive probably

radiant viper
#

dang makes sense

rich sedge
#

yeah

crimson scroll
#

depends on the prices

#

for example 2tb is pretty close in price to 1tb for consumer drives

#

and prices aren't linear so a 750gb hdd won't be 3/4 of the price of a 1tb

devout wolf
#

2TB has pretty good value

#

$55 for a Barracuda

visual torrent
#

if you are looking to get a separate ssd, I would recommend getting a NVME drive. Price difference from a typical 2.5" sata drive isnt all that much, but the speed difference is worth it

crimson scroll
#

most people won't notice the speed difference

#

but yes, it's nice for when future games make use of it, and the price gap is pretty small right now

noble oak
#

^

#

speed for a hard drive really doesnt matter too much tbh

devout wolf
#

if it's 7200rpm it's fine

#

which most are

crimson scroll
#

so

#

it's not just rpm

#

it's also density

#

there are 4tb 5400rpm hdds faster than 1tb 7200rpm hdds

devout wolf
crimson scroll
#

i'm making a lot of slightly pedantic points though

#

again, your average consumer won't notice, and CMR vs SMR will probably matter more if you're using it for a nas or something

rich sedge
#

so should i just get a 2 tb hdd and no ssd?

elfin zealot
crimson scroll
#

yeah it's fine

#

and no, like we said earlier, at this price point we strongly recommend getting an SSD at least for your OS

rich sedge
#

do i need an os

#

wait

devout wolf
#

nah just game from the BIOS

ivory coral
#

You could transfer your current one to your new drive if you switching to an ssd

rich sedge
#

oh

#

i have an os

#

like a usb flashdrive with windows installed on it is an os?

crimson scroll
#

windows is an operating system

#

and yes, you need an os to use your computer

rich sedge
#

ok

#

also is a watercooler good for overclocking for example the nzxt h510

devout wolf
#

you can overclock to some extent on an air cooler too but not in a h510

#

also if you're overclocking 3rd gen ryzen just don't bother

#

leave it to PBO and call it a day

crimson scroll
#

in general, yes, water cooling is better than air cooling, especially for overclocking. You'd be looking at 240+ rads though; the 120/140mm clcs are generally worse than air coolers for the same price

devout wolf
#

^^

crimson scroll
#

also the question was worded kind of weirdly lol

devout wolf
#

hold up

#

does he think h510 is an aio?

crimson scroll
#

maybe

rich sedge
#

bruh

#

i confused the h510 with the x53

#

lmao

devout wolf
#

lmao

crimson scroll
#

x53 is..fine

#

not amazing, not terrible

devout wolf
#

hum, same price as the arctic liquid freezer ii

crimson scroll
#

the liquid freezer II is great and i recommend it with several caveats

#

one, the rad is pretty thick, so check case compatibility

#

two, it's out of stock frequently and prices get jacked up

#

so you have to wait for it to be restocked at a fair price

#

the other good noise/perf aio is the EK aio

rich sedge
#

im prob gonna get the x53

#

240 size tho

devout wolf
#

for which cpu?

crimson scroll
#

i mean, if you like the looks of the x53, go for it

#

you seem pretty hard stuck on it anyways

rich sedge
#

for which cpu?
@devout wolf a i5 9600k, im going to overclock it

devout wolf
#

ah okay

crimson scroll
#

i feel like he's posted his list and asked for suggestions and then hasn't changed his list

rich sedge
#

uh

#

no i changed it

crimson scroll
#

i still don't know why you're picking a 9600k and z390 over a 3600 and b450

balmy grail
#

that z390 is gonna bottleneck your cpu

crimson scroll
#

also yeah, a mini itx board in an atx case

#

microatx you could make a case for, since it can be cheaper

#

mini itx is usually way more expensive for equivalent features

#

you're getting a 10-20fps difference in most games, for 40 bucks more on the cpu, and like 60-80 bucks more on the motherboard

devout wolf
#

question: why 9th gen intel?

#

a $1200 build calls for a 2070 super

#

also just spend $10 more on the hdd and you have 2.5x the storage aka 2TB

#

cv is also a meh psu for the price

#

go with the 500w be quiet sp11

#

and and you can buy a 5-pack of arctic fans for $25

#

instead of 3 separate for $30

crimson scroll
#

^

rich sedge
#

ok

crimson merlin
#

lmaoo

crimson scroll
#

You can step up the gpu if you want, or add a nicer cooler for the cpu

devout wolf
#

This list is perfect GWjiangoNoice

crimson scroll
#

The case I selected will benefit slightly from an extra exhaust

#

Should be cheaper than the nr600 with fans

#

Alternatively get the p500a, even bigger for 30 bucks more, and nicer tooling

#

Though the nr600 is still a very good budget case

#

If you don't like the look of the phanteks, you can also look at the lian li lancool II mesh or the coolermaster td500

rich sedge
crimson scroll
#

Uhh

#

If you need wifi I guess

rich sedge
#

i dont wanna get the cord

crimson scroll
#

Then yeah slap in a wifi card

#

Wired is better though

#

Will you notice the difference? Maybe not, but it's cheaper too

rich sedge
#

i mean im fine with whatever

#

but i play games like csgo and the 9600k runs faster on it

crimson scroll
#

Are you gonna go pro

rich sedge
#

i mean maybe

crimson scroll
#

I run 1440p with a 2600 and get easily 180+fps every map

#

A 3600 will only do better

rich sedge
#

oh

#

ok

#

i also saw this benchmark of 3600 vs 9600k

crimson scroll
#

Yes, more frames is faster response even if your monitor doesn't display that many

rich sedge
#

thought you might wanna take a look of it

crimson scroll
#

You're not gonna notice

rich sedge
crimson scroll
#

User benchmark sucks

#

They had a ranking where an i3 beat a thread ripper due to single core weighting

rich sedge
#

bruh

crimson scroll
#

Try to use sources that have a well defined methodology for how to test

#

That isn't biased

#

I know it seems like I'm crapping over all your choices but it's to save you money while keeping your performance roughly the same

rich sedge
#

ok

rich sedge
#

pog

crimson scroll
#

Heh

devout wolf
#

userbenchmark is a meme

crimson scroll
#

Yeah

#

It's actual benchmark is fine for comparing against the same parts

#

To see if you're underperforming

devout wolf
#

yeah

crimson scroll
#

More of a one stop shop then doing cdi, cinebench, unigine, etc

devout wolf
#

the gpu part of their benchmark was always glitchy for me

crimson scroll
#

Ive never used it honestly

rich sedge
#

do you guys know a good site comparing pc parts?

crimson scroll
#

Logical increments

devout wolf
#

Youtube

#

that too^^

crimson scroll
#

It has pretty good tiers for different price points

#

But as always, don't copy paste builds

#

They pick the 3600x for example and there's pretty much zero reason to do that over the 3600

rich sedge
#

ok

elfin zealot
#

why you comparing intels top line of cpus to amds 2nd lowest line

devout wolf
#

just to show how much of a meme userbenchmark is

#

also ryzen 5 is technically the 3rd lowest if we count Athlon

rich sedge
#

ill prob just keep the 9600k

crimson scroll
#

...

#

this is what i mean about not listening to us lol

#

so frustrating

narrow parrot
rich sedge
#

i mean h510 had some complaints about not good air cooling airflow i think

crimson scroll
#

i'd get a cheaper SSD like a sn550 (or sn750 if you need the sustained writes for video editing)

#

and yeah, a different case. the h510 can force airflow if you really like the look, but a mesh front panel case will perform better

rich sedge
#

yeah

crimson scroll
#

if you're saving to build though, you may want to re-evaluate the build when you're ready to buy

#

part prices change all the time

rich sedge
#

h510 is kind of better for watercooling and stuff right?

crimson scroll
#

nah

#

people forget

#

watercooling still requires airflow

rich sedge
#

o yeah

crimson scroll
#

up to a certain point, the water can absorb that heat

rich sedge
#

forgot about that

crimson scroll
#

and then you need to dissipate it

rich sedge
#

oh yeah

crimson scroll
#

if you want to do watercooling, the lian li o11 dynamic/xl is a great choice. bit pricey though

rich sedge
#

yeah

#

wait what

crimson scroll
#

there's also the phanteks enthoo pro 2, cheaper than the o11 and has very large rad support, but can't fit as many at the same time

crimson scroll
#

probably not

#

it's mid tower

rich sedge
#

ok

crimson scroll
#

it can probably fit some rads but not ideal

rich sedge
#

ok

#

would it fit like one rad

crimson scroll
rich sedge
#

wtf

#

that gpu looks exactly like the one im getting

crimson scroll
#

it's pretty hard to front mount a cpu AIO in the front properly

#

you want the tubes on the bottom so you don't get bubbles

#

so it's better to do it on the top, which limits you to 240 or 120

rich sedge
#

i was thinking of putting it on the top

#

also im getting a 240 size

crimson scroll
#

it would work then

crimson scroll
#

yes

#

you should learn to look up product pages

rich sedge
#

uh

crimson scroll
#

bottom of the screenshot

#

where it says fans

rich sedge
#

o

#

i see it now

crimson scroll
#

yeah, they're fine

rich sedge
#

bruh

#

i was listening to a mcdonalds ad on spotify and it sounded like they were chanting the devil

crimson scroll
#

not sure what that has to do with pc building but ok

rich sedge
#

but do you think a 750 gb hdd and a 500 gb ssd combo would be good for my pc?

crimson scroll
#

i'm not gonna answer the same questions you've asked

sudden seal
#

Is the Asus TUF B450-PLUS GAMING out of box compatible with the Ryzen 5 3600?

crimson scroll
#

very unlikely it would not be @sudden seal , most b450 have been updated now to support zen 2 out of the box

sudden seal
#

but do you think a 750 gb hdd and a 500 gb ssd combo would be good for my pc?
@rich sedge what are you’re specs?

#

Or going to be specs

rich sedge
#

@rich sedge what are you’re specs?
@sudden seal i5 9600k, rtx 2060

sudden seal
#

And what’s your budget?

crimson scroll
#

flinck, i've answered that variant of question from him like three times

#

there's no point

rich sedge

it was yes right

#

wait no

#

u said it's fine

#

either yes or fine

crimson scroll
#

scroll up and read my answer

sudden seal

In this time I wouldn’t get why you would go with intel

crimson scroll

i have also told him that

rich sedge

im here you too you know

sudden seal
#

Good

crimson scroll

and?

rich sedge
#

scroll up and read my answer
@crimson scroll you said good

crimson scroll
#

doesn't change the fact that this makes three people who have read your build and critiqued the same thing

sudden seal
#

But what is his budget do we have an answer

crimson scroll
#

don't know, probably around 1200-1300 based on the initial build

clear jacinth
#

wait why did u go with a 9th gen i5 @rich sedge

crimson scroll
#

4 people

clear jacinth
#

there are so much cheaper amd processors which are also better

sudden seal
#

That’s a very good question that no ones the sender to

clear jacinth
#

well maybe not a lot cheaper but around the same price point and better

crimson scroll
#

anyways it's pretty safe to buy b450 for zen 2, you can always apply for the boot kit frrom AMD in the rare occasion it's not zen2 ready flinck

sudden seal
#

Anyone knows his case of choice

crimson scroll
#

nr600

#

his parts list is posted up there somewhere

#

the case is fine, he got extra fans for it too

#

with the fans it performs pretty well in GN tests

sudden seal
crimson scroll
#

not bad

#

i'd swap out that SSD for a sn750 at the price point

rich sedge
#

huh

crimson scroll
#

and bump up to a 2tb hdd for like 7 bucks more

rich sedge
#

maybe ill go for that list

sudden seal
#

Maybe let it be fine tuned by Taichung

rich sedge

the only thing i would need to add would be a wifi card

I was trolling

rich sedge

saucy supreruku asked what a good pcie wifi is brand etc

crimson scroll

that exact gigabyte model isn't on r/newmaxx's spreadsheet list dillie, but it seems fine. maybe consider a sn550 at 1tb

@sudden seal he was trolling in this chat when i was trying to help people

And frequently restarting randomly

rich sedge

I bought a new pc because of it

rich sedge

uh huh

scarlet berry

And I still have the no internet

rich sedge

did you connect the ethernet

scarlet berry

yep

rich sedge

maybe the wire's broken

scarlet berry

It works on ps4

rich sedge

maybe its a ps4 only ethernet?

scarlet berry

That’s a thing

maybe search up how to trouble shoot pc ethernet connection

scarlet berry

How can I send a file from my phone to my pc without iTunes

rich sedge

search it up?

crimson scroll

you can use a cloud service

ornate verge
crimson scroll
#

not bad

#

i would swap out the h510 for an airflow focused case and myabe go for 1440p 144hz instead of 1080p, since you have a 2070 super

#

also, a cheaper motherboard like the b450 tomahawk max would do just fine

static pecan
#

You could also go with an RX5700XT for $100 cheaper and get the same performance as a 2070 Super lol

crimson scroll
#

for a first build they may not want to deal with driver issues

#

also nvenc potentially

static pecan
#

Driver issues are pretty much non existent these days + for most use cases NVENC really isn't worth $100 over VCE

crimson scroll
#

personally i would pick the 5700xt, but the 2070s is fine too

#

and i wouldn't say they're nonexistent. they're much improved but still exist

ornate verge
#

I kinda got to have WiFi tho

static pecan
#

I'm not saying it isn't, it's still a good card just overpriced compared to the competition

crimson scroll
#

you can get a wifi card for like 30 bucks

static pecan
#

^

crimson scroll
#

maybe for something like a mitx board you'd want built in wifi

static pecan
#

I've had plenty of issues with Nvidia drivers in the year I've had an Nvidia card lol

static pecan
#

Still 1080p. To really take advantage of a 2070 Super you should look into 1440p

crimson scroll
#

330 for 1080p 165hz? not it imo

#

you can get it cheaper from adorama anyways

ornate verge
#

Any recommendations?

crimson scroll
#

if you want a super nice one, the lg 27gl850-b or 27gl83a-b are super nice IPS 1440p 144hz panels

#

goes for around $450 but you have to snag them when they come back in stock

ornate verge
#

I’m saying like under 250 lmao

crimson scroll
#

hard to find

#

the dell s2719dgf goes on sale for students around 250, 270

static pecan
crimson scroll

it's TN but pretty good picture quality for TN

#

lol yeah that's what alanhm linked

static pecan
#

Lmao literally just sent the link

crimson scroll
#

i wouldn't pay 400 for it though

static pecan
#

That's the panel I'm getting with my next build

crimson scroll
#

nice, it's what i have now

static pecan
#

Nah I'm planning to grab it and the rest of my parts around Black Friday/Holiday sales time

crimson scroll
#

alternatively you could get a 2070 and still do a 1440p/144hz panel from the money you saved

#

the panel will likely last you longer than several of your parts anyways

#

i had a 1060 and bought my monitor, then upgraded to a used 1080 from reddit later
