you'd have to take apart your pc, get the cpu cooler of your cpu, clean the cpu cooler, instal the new cpu, apply new thermal paste, and get the cpu cooler on again.

Also even if you're encoding your stream with the Nvidia encoder the streaming software will still use up a chunk of CPU power so an 8 core CPU is recommended to ensure you have enough CPU horsepower to run both the game and stream at the same time

@slender ivy I'd recommend downgrading the CPU to a 3600X and switching the GPU to an RX5600XT for the best price/performance. A 1660 Super is still good if you want to stick with Nvidia, but the 5600XT gets consistently higher FPS in games over the 1660 super

Your best bet these days is to grab a 500GB M.2 or SATA SSD for your OS and personal files then a 1-2TB SSD just for games

The games folder on my 1TB SSD is over 200GB with just 5 games installed and file sizes are just going to increase. It sucks

#

For just gaming that CPU will last you a good 8-10 years and by then they'll have new generations of MOBOs so you'd need to upgrade that anyway if you wanted to get another CPU

If you're planning on just gaming and not any CPU intensive tasks like rendering or anything you don't need a threadripper lmao. The most you need is a 3700X or 3800X. They're cheaper than intel and you won't actually notice a difference in performance between Intel or AMD in gaming because the GPU matters most
