Just pine. Wood burned it and the. For the logo I printed it out and burned through the paper
That looks awesome!
Yeah I’m really proud of it
I was wondering how you made the grain (is that what it's called? the pattern in the wood?) black
It is called grain, I wood burned it along the lines
Yeah, thought it was grain but couldn't remember
I just wanted a little something more than just the SteelSeries logo
@glacial oriole heads up, truth is the Apple one is just tiny af. They cheaped out on their size so it would be a higher quality membrane kboard xD
@sudden burrow you are amazing
Welcome home, Neon Rider!
@autumn kestrel that mouse looks comfy af
It is!
yes
How's that mouse compared to zowie fk1

Bruh that's a powerplant
Lol i love the radiation look on the heat pipes
AMD or intel
Personally i prefer AMD
@nimble spear that lighter gives me anxiety for some reason xD
Should I get white or black sleeved cables? Other suggestions are also welcome
@noble oak white/baby blue?
Where can I find those type of cables?
i think you can go to cablemod and customize your own cable sleeves
@noble oak reapercables are pretty solid. I don't like cablemod honestly
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD7H18F/ref=dp_cerb_1 guys is this good?

and ping me to tell me if its good or not
The only thing that is kinda not selling me is the Intel i7 CPU, but everything else seems to be pretty good. Do you know how many MHz the RAM runs at? @noble oak
Is this supposed to be an upgrade from your current build as well? And if so, what do you have currently?
jesus_christ that is a good pc no problems with it
bought AIO not too long ago, and the ones who made the case had wonderful idea to rivet in the cd-rom thing to the case and block the radiator from fitting there, took metal shears to the thing and fit the AIO nicely
Specs if anyone is interested:
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600x (OC'd to 4.25GHz, max I've gotten was 4.3GHz)
AIO: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240

also upgrade from my build rn
rn i have a laptop: Acer Nitro 5
This is my setup:
CPU - Intel i7-6700k @ 4.00ghz (not overclocked)
GPU - Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti
MOBO - ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO
RAM - 16GB, 2400mhz
Corsair Liquid Cooled system
What would you suggest I upgrade?
Your best interest would probably be to upgrade your GPU, then again I'm no expert with hardware
I agree ^
Yeah I think it's defo starting to hit it's limits now
I've had it for 4/5 years. Haven't needed to upgrade, but with the recent releases I think it will start struggling. Especially when Cyberpunk 2077 comes out
if you have the extra money and depending on what you have storage wise now, you can always look into getting an SSD that's compatible with your motherboard too
extra storage is always 10/10
^^^^ i agree so much with that
My Setup:
- Dell PC
@wispy kiln the CPU and RAM are still good and will be for another few years (although I would recommend OCing the CPU once you begin to notice slow downs with it). The GPU is pretty much the only part that needs an upgrade
The general rule of thumb I've always heard about and used it to upgrade your GPU every 4-5 years and your CPU every 8-10 years. Especially if you're only really gaming, games take quite a long time to take advantage of new CPU tech. For instance, only a few years ago did they start really taking advantage of quad core CPUs lol
my humble setup
specs are: dell pc
apex pro, rival 650, glide 38 mousepad(by far one of the best ive ever used(sorry steelseries I tested yours but this one was larger and smoother 😦 )) and
i dunno the monitor but ips 75Hz, 5ms response
@wispy kiln the CPU and RAM are still good and will be for another few years (although I would recommend OCing the CPU once you begin to notice slow downs with it). The GPU is pretty much the only part that needs an upgrade
@static pecan Cool thank you for the explanation 🙂 any suggestions for a good GPU that will last me a good 4 years but also wont break the bank? And compatible with my current setup
I'd probably recommend an RTX 2070 Super or RTX 2080 (non super) just to make sure there isn't a bottleneck with the CPU
cool thanks i'll take a look
They're like £500 if im not mistaken?
Same as what I paid for my 980 ti
Are the RTX ray-tracing enabled?
Yep
Specs:
CPU: R5 2600 @ 3.8Ghz
GPU: GTX 1660 (Gigabyte)

PSU: EVGA 650W 80+ Bronze
Case: Cooler Master MB511

Spicy
i9900k, 2080ti, 128gb RAM
out here flexin'
What do you use that much RAM for @marble pasture?
probably flexing on nerds like us
I use the same setup but with 32GB RAM
:(
Just wanted more ram than in my dads pc 😅
yo i was right
I still searching a Snowblind case. Anyone have a idea how to get it ?
But I do like the 2 TB nvme SSD I'm using
„Snowblind PC Case“
I assume a "Snowblind S Case" isn't what you want?
It is
Oh, nvm
Didn't see the sold out
Jeah it is sold out every where... and only 1 ok eBay for 800$ + 200$ Import + 100$ shipping
Dang
@regal bluff here's how, go to steeseries engine
find the button you want to make double click here
click on it... a menu will pop up
click here on the menu your box should say "play once" but i'v configured this profile slightly different
then click here
then change #1 to the time (IN milliseconds) between repeats and #2 to the number of times you want it to repeat
then click done and save etc
should have just recorded a gif
He doesn't have it. It's just a pic released on the internet.
I don't even know more about this image
@earnest olive
Is there a way to set it up so it auto clicks fast on M1 @muted viper
yeah
Just by holding it in?
yeah
Can you even adjust the delay it kicks in
yeah
That's op
however many you set it
@stuck bluff https://www.pcgamer.com/kmode-exception-not-handled-error-what-it-is-and-how-to-fix-it/ try something like this
I've looked into that.
Ran the memory diagnostic.
Disabled fast start up and done SFC scan now
But nothing.
i feel sorry for your PC
yes the PC need more speed .. stupid internet
ohhh yessss
although it does depend on were i move
That's what I'm going to be going for when I move into my uni house in sep
im going for 2000mbs but you know how it is
I think 350 is where I'll be going
yeah i mean 15-250 is all you really need for most applications
Depends on the size of the files you'll be working with tbf
yeah but like youtube and gaming
sure you might wait a while (for the games) but you can still play them reasonably
I'll be working with studio footage so I'll need faster than most people
ahh cineform 80GB files : )
r3d (redcode raw) anyone?
man
thats impressive
what are you?
too many screens
Uni student, that's the old studio we're moving into a new building at the start of next year, but corona has slowed everything down big time and has cancelled most of the studio dates we had
thats insane
I'm specialising in video editing and studio work - Vision mixer is where I want to go mainly (Controlling what you see during a live show)
gee they have names for everything
i just wanna be a creative arts person lol
photo film drawing sound
etc
(sorry about breaking this just need to post an image on here for someone returning)
@noble oak
cack
Looks fine to me.
ok
and what if lby the time they reply, its been over 30 days
I'm sure they won't take that long
ok
thx
Anytime!
i gtg, thx very muich for ur help
I reckon it'll be 30 days until you make the request sort of thing, otherwise work loads would make a lot of things pushed over
No probs. Happy to help.
Studio work is all fun and games until one thing happens and then you're 20 minutes behind schedule @muted viper
ahh well i only have self learned stuff so i dont know if i will go into it farther than as a hobby
me sitting here with DaVinci Resolve
We use DaVinci too for colour grading, then we move over into Avid which is a hellhole of a programme
Ahahaha no one can afford avid for personal uses
i might subscribe to AE if i get better at filmaking
Avid is for like fullblown productions that you see on Netflix, all the files are stored in an onsite server that everyone has access to at the same time
but still i dont wanna pay adobe tax
I'm complete trash at editing everything that isn't a TV Show, the edits you see on gaming videos and in shows are surprisingly different
how?
I'm more of a colour gradist/composer which means I make sure the colours are right and then throw the shots into the timeline in an order that makes sense, gaming videos are more for short term entertainment as compared to trying to keep an audience for the full hour so cuts are quick and stuff
I'm used to seeing those slates that you see in behind the scenes videos that show the exact version to use
i have to learn all those areas because i want to be self sufficient rather decent at almost everything than perfect at one thing
What kind of videos do you want to make?
short films music gaming pretty much whatever i can
Honestly you'll be fine using DaVinci if you're working alone, the reason people use Adobe is because the programmes they offer all link back together
i mean NOW im working alone but i intend to expand if i improve
Adobe makes it easier for people to work together, which you don't see with DaVinci, and then Avid makes that even easier (but please for your own sanity never use avid)
yeah my sanity and my need to buy anything else
davici has a built in VFX program as to how good it is idk also they have project servers which i believe allows collaboration
That's basically what Avid does
cool
I did try the other day to make a sort of gaming video but it was just awful imo
No lie I'm so buzzed for the new year at uni, moving into a new house with my friends and using all the new equipment
I don't know what brand they are tbf in the new one, but they're like 50k each or something
could be red
http://www.z-cam.com/e2-s6/ "budget" camera that is my ultimate goal before red
I'm pretty sure there are a few reds on site that we can take out, but we mostly used panasonic for the first year
Ahaha yeah, we're allowed to take all the equipment out and about
We get set a few like films we have to make throughout the year, and they allocate us kit for that, and then we can take it out for ourselves to film our own stuff for fun
imagine being able to just walk into a building and walk out with a $20,000 camera (assuming they are dragon-x) that you can use for a while
and pay nothing except that tuition dangit
Nah, it's mostly Panasonics that they have in there - I get access to more expensive cameras as I progress through the years at uni
Ahahaha nah, Panasonics are just industry standard
So like Netflix can use reds because they basically have unlimited budget
I actually don't know tbf
at least spec to spec
i mean Panasonic pioneered some of the industry standard sensor sizes i think
but others made them cheaper
I don't really know much about the specifics I just know how to use them aha
yeah because you dont have to buy it
i would tho as a small company or freelancer
so i need to figure this out asap
I was always under the impression that Sony was an industry standard
i mean they make good cameras
alot of smaller filmmakers use them because they are pretty much the best non cinema cameras you can get
i think
We use Panasonic 160 and 90 cameras for the first year when on location - I couldn't tell you what we use in the studio
To be fair I do photography as a hobby and uze a Panasonic fz82 camera and it's pretty lovely. But I imagine the higher end stuff is awesome to work with.
Would love to do videography, editting and stuff like that
Ahaha because the uni closed (Coronavirus :() I had to use my old canon dslr to shoot for part of a psc
It has nothing on the high-end stuff
I have a DJI Ronin-SC tbf which is amazing, but need to pick up a mirrorless camera to actually make the most of it
The annoying thing with the field I'm going into is that robots are taking over the camera roles
gfx 100
for photo
The high end sony cameras are leading the photography side of things atm I think
100/102 megapixel i want one
imagine actualy having that
those prices are reasonable with the panasonic cameras you were using
mostly used but when you see one thats not used it fits fairly well into what youd expect to pay for that type of camera imo
sure there are some cheaper and better
Yeah, each year into uni we get access to better cameras
because the uni buys better cameras 😄
now i must try to make a gaming video to impress the pro video guy
Ahaha I probably have nothing on you when it comes to gaming videos
ahaha i should show you one i made back when i still used Windows movie maker or lightworks
you'd change your mind then
Am I good to link a youtube video in here or is that a no go?
you would get a warning and temp mute i think
I'll dm you
dm me although i might not respond immediatly
might be busy for a bit
aka away from a computer
@forest aurora
this is the kind of email u gest
when u make it dthrough
from what im guessing, yes?
i got the email but i was just wondering if everyone gets accepted
ok
k
LOL it says "...but I am happy to let you know that your efforts paid off and we're about to reward you with access to the Moments Private beta."
As a closed beta, I would say yes.
mehhhh i am sad now i wanted to be apart of this
It hasn't been announced that it's completely closed yet.
i applied for it
.<
random question... is that a challenge?
because if it is ima try and get my hands on an arctis 7 and invalidate that statement
the 7 might not exist by the time i can afford to buy it but hey
Just the web order number.
ok
can u list down everythin i should put down on the box?
the weborder, and this thing?
@stuck bluff ?
Just write the returns address and whatever that blanked is on the box. Sure it'll be fine.
and what about the web order?
There's probably no need for it
ok
But always good to pop on the box as a reference to help them
and to be clear the return address would be this?
North America
SteelSeries
IR-781686
25862-A Commercentre Dr.
Dock 26
Lake Forest. CA 92630
The invoice would be the sheet that says how many of each item was included in the box btw
ok thx
Yeah whatever their returns address is :)
ok
ill ask my dad for help 2
but thx alot
that really helped me understand
😁
sorry for taking so much of ur guys time
thx again
No worries! Happy to help!
That's not possible
well actually it is
linus tech made one
6 people made one pc
so can i make one or no >:(
I guess
fr?
nvm
kk
maybe
I just want to get wall paper engine on steam
same
whats a good 2000$ build
dont be
i honestly would get
a g403 with paracord
trust me
it better
but thats me
im not sponsored from logitech
i dont mean to hate on stealseries cause 66% of my gear is steelseries
a g403 with paracord
@noble oak G403 has a shitty sensor compared to the Rival 600...honestly I don't get this trend of considering just weight over everything else...
that’s just people skipping arm days xD
For gaming sure
My friend has the exact model and i've played a few rounds on Valorant last time I was over. Two thumbs up! @lavish kraken
It's awesome to see the price of 144hz monitors come down to reality the last few years.
@dark linden literally every mouse has good sensors at this point and u wont tell the difference. Having 12,000 cpi at your disposal doesn't make the mouse better when ur probably only going to be using 500(They both have max 12,000 cpi). The only reason why i got the rival was cause of the extra side keys. But the downfall of the mouse comes to its click. Its something most reviews wont tell you. Its harder/longer to press the rival left and right click compared to the g403. To test this I did a reaction time test multiple times, from an average of 20 trials on the g403 i got an average of 182ish ms and the rival 600. Btw you can also tell by carefully cliking side by side. And the other thing is that the way the rival s/n is located it fades very fast making it hard for customer support. White the g403 has it on the inside printed on. To this day my G403(3 years old) s/n is crystal clear while my replaced rival's s/n is the only thing faded out( i replaced this since it had issues and still has some). I beleive its cause of the material its printed on. By all means you can get the rival, but in my aim the logitech and rival felt the same and the lighter weight helped
@noble oak I honestly feel the difference between the different IPS from mouse to mouse, it's not just a matter of DPI: lift off distance, tilt tracking, deviance at 400DPI, 800DPI and 1600DPI, feeling of the clicks. I used the G403 and I was making mistakes at 800DPI with the Logitech, I had to get used to the mouse again coming from my (at the time) Rival 600, now I use the Sensei Ten because the improvement in those aspects, plus the weight, is real to me.
I need to forget about the mouse without thinking on how I lift it or how fast my arm is moving. So for me it's not the same thing as much as everyone wants to believe...
@dark linden its opinion, some factors might be more critical to you, while less for me, after all, thats why their are diffrent kinds of mouse
oh yeah how is the sensei 10 compared to the rival cause I was gunna return my rival
@noble oak sure, that's why I never suggest paracord mods to other users or just lighter mice. I think everyone should try on its own and pick up what fits the best. It's easy to make someone else waste money with the easy suggestion, consider that most of my friends don't use SteelSeries gear because that's not what Reddit says is better...lol their loss, I try then I buy...and I enjoy the experience in the meantime 🙂
oh yeah how is the sensei 10 compared to the rival cause I was gunna return my rival
@noble oak The Sensei Ten is a classic. I owned an OG Sensei for 7 years and honestly I am still not able to find a more comfortable mouse for claw gripping with a hand which is the size of mine (21x12.4cm)! Being ambidextrous is a big plus for me, the mouse is made of high quality ABS plastic and the new sensor (which doesn't need an additional optic for the lift off) makes the mouse lighter and more balanced under my hand. The right and left click are crispier and need less force than the Rival to be pressed. The side buttons are in the right place while the mouse wheel is a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the mouse.
The new sensor at 800DPI seems to track a bit better the stops after huge movements, I honestly think less about where I am on the mouse pad and this helps me a lot during sniper vs sniper on Overwatch :P
The tilt tracking is really great, I can just barely lift the mouse on one side and move it without having the pointer to go crazy. I use it with a mouse bungee, I think it's the best way to use it, considering the rubber cable, but being the cable made of soft rubber it becomes almost non existent and loses rigidity after a few days.
is it the same rubber cable for the rival
It feels like an improvement to me, under almost every aspect. It's also lighter than the Rival 600. In a next revision I would just improve the mouse wheel and lower the weight in the range of [77g, 82g].
Yes, it's the same type of rubber but it's not detachable. But if you're interested in modding it looks like it's easy enough to mod...
k
i hope i can return my rival
but
s/n
is the only thing completly faded out
im gunna see
Mmm...I don't know if I would recommend the paracord cable, honestly with a bungee I don't even realize the mouse has a cable, I think that's down to personal taste and feel! 👍
i dont have a bungee though
yeah i absolutely love my sensei ten and i've got baby hands, its extremely versatile
The last SteelSeries mouse I used was the sensei raw. Would the sensei ten have a similar feel/layout to the sensei raw?
There's a good deal on a 240hz gsync compatible IPS atm over on Dell if anyone is interested in that kind of hardware (£329) which is still pricey but less than TN panels of same spec
And if you're a student oh boy you get an extra 10% off
what a good 1000$ build and 1500$
@noble oak yo
tbh
gpu you should look for if doing 1000 build is a 2070/2060 super
if you buy used
you can squeeze in a 2070 super
for 1.5k, try to get a 2080 super i believe
I mean
If you go ultra cheapskate maybe you can somehow fit a 2080ti, maayyybe
but that's not rlly gonna happen for the most part so eh
try buying used
I love how you can get those GPUs for that much in US - They're stupidly priced here in UK
My 2060 was £320 I think
damn
I was looking at a 2070 and they seel (used) for like £200
2060 is still pretty good for most games
never get used. 1/2 the time they are broken or have tons of coil whine. my cousin got one and that happened
really?
yes
my friend bought used, he's running fine about 6 months later
nice, but he probably paid a higher price cuz he probably bought it from somewhere reliable
he got it from ebay
yikes
@acoustic nymph Bruh you should always test it at the sellers place before buying it
yea
I got my NZXT h510i yesterday it is so cool!
I went on small websites and got pretty good prices
I got mine from altex for 130$
It a really clean case
Just if you go buy any NZXT case don’t buy from amazon the shipping is 100$ plus
My next big spend is gonna be a 2080 and monitor I think.
Could someone help me out with pc specs? im gonna be building a pc in a few months but i dont really know anything about them
my budget would be around 700-800
@noble oak
would that be a good one?
whiios
wrong one
there
thanks
actually @noble oak now dat i think of it
i would downgrade teh cpu and upgrade the gpu
Gotta love the Hyperbeast limited ed 300
It's proper weird holding it again after using a 310 for so long - Honestly don't think I can go back to the old design
What psu should i get... SURPRISE ME!
Didn't like me typing out asus rog in caps
No need to showoff
What power supply do i get
@noble oak i dont know anything of pc specs still
so
@noble oak r u saying u dont know anything about pc specs
or u udont know what to say about the list i gave u
This is how SSE3 should look like to know that the person behind that screen has a beutyfull setup
OwO
Tut-tut rule one of the moments club ;)
Is this it???
Can neither confirm nor deny that.
Can someone help me i need a motherboard for my ssd nmve m.2 and my ryzen 7 3700x
I recommend getting an x570 mobo
its so much money tho
Or x470
I bought a b450-A pro max but it is still label created, said it will be here on 8th but no! Then the 12th BUT STILL NO
i have amd 7 3700x
Maybe wait until b550 mobo’s come out which will be very soon
Oh
Found this on amazon
Do you have a 2nd gen amd processor?
If so you can use that and update the bios of the motherboard, and replace the second gen amd chip with the 3700x
@noble oak idk pc specs
guys, quick question, do i need an anti static mat when building my pc?
ping me to let me know
I've built a couple before without one. An antistatic wrist strap should be fine. But if you can get the mat, it also helps
so do i need it?
@strong pewter
im a first time builder
i need all the helpful important tips i can
Imo if you're new to PC building, I'd say go for it, it'll reduce likelihood of static discharges ruining sensitive components
It's not a requirement and you're probably fine without it, but if you can't get an anti static mat or wrist strap then at least have a piece of metal or something that you can grab onto for a few seconds before touching parts because that will also help get rid of any lingering static @noble oak
Also for first time builders it definitely helps to follow along with a build guide on YouTube from a channel like LinusTechTips because they give you visual guides for how to properly put together each component and also have helpful tips that'll make your building easier
Yeah, I'd say get a strap - They're pretty cheap and it's always better to add some more protection
Guys am i safe
My ram is intel xmp ready
But i got a amd ryzen 7 3700x
And my mobo is a amd mobo
I'm pretty sure AMD boards support XMP anyway, but either way it should still work fine @lavish kraken
XMP is just a pre-applied overclock to the RAM that you can set in the mobo bios
anyone have a preferred set of case fans that arent extremely expensive??
if you look on pcpartpicker they have some pretty good case fans if you choose the right ones just read the reviews or even look up a review on youtube about the case fan you choose
aight
B450-F + ryzen 5 3600 + rx 5700xt a good combo?
Spicy @proven willow
Make sure to get at least 3200mhz RAM speed or higher because Ryzen really loves fast ram
I got that already! Thx
Nice
depends on settings
Ultra
Uhm
Some rpg’s like the witcher
And I want to Play triple A games that’ll realease in the feature
Ik sure that I can play cs and cod withouten any problems
cs isnt a very graphics intensive game
Ik
u should be good for most games in 1080p
You mean stretched?
The 5700XT is pretty much made for 1440p, but to really take advantage of it in AAA games on ultra you might need to upgrade the CPU. Not really sure tbh but for the games you play the most that build should be good with 1440 for future proofing
ultra wide is basically just personal preference honestly
Thanks!
DANG
That's so clean!
I'm super spoiled, helps that the guy sitting next to me is a computer science major, and was happy to help me with it
B450, Ryzen 2700, GTX 1660 with all the modcons. Full steelseries gear is an unbeatable combo..
Why is looking for a motherboard so hard
Can someone help me
For my amd ryzen 7 3700x
Just say budget and expectations
Pcpartpicker and do price comparison vs performance and judge which one you want more.
huh
ATX/mini atx?
Http://pcpartpicker.com ? If the URL is right lol
Atx
BenderR before recommending that site u should ask if hes from NA
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cQDF7W start here
also i wanna get tomahawk max but its all sold out and amazon is drinking something because they have it super expensive
u can look into x570's
They are expensive af
I have waited 2 weeks or more for a mother board that i bought on new egg AND ITS STILL IN label CREATED
supply and demand BS right there, I paid 140 for B450 off Amazon and pinched the Ryzen 7 for the same price
in here the GPU's are screwed
MSRPs go for lets say 400$, it will cost 550 euros which is close to 600$
cause god knows what import fees or whatever
USA wins that "contest"
Usual VAT rate import fees, 21/25% easy
I have a GTX 1080ti
I think for canadians it aint better
Now i gotta wait a week or more for a damn motherboard and i have been waiting for 2 weeks already for another one this sucks
Just refund it
To be fair parts are ridiculously expensive. but they fluctuate so you've just gotta keep your eyes open on the one you want and monitor the prices.
My mom sent them an email and they havent responded in 4 days
Gifting works if you have a friend you can pay to buy it
It's why I'm keeping my eyes on a 2080 super.
what is rtx 2080 MSRP?
Gifts negate import tax so depends really
or 2080 super
I'm planning to upgrade my Ryzen 5 2600
The super I'm looking at is about £810-£820
Which is about 850+ dollars in USD
Nearly 1300 £ to $
OH
damn, its 565 euros here/ 640$ / 500 pounds
See in the math in the USA
☹️😔
i have 1070 and in no way shape or form ill upgrade 😄
maybe with 4XXX series ill get 3XXX
people got into pc building during quarantine i guess
i use this with my office build
it has x5 2700x or something cant remember
dont go overkill on cooling
😔
water cooling is for aesthetics more or less
I personally use the ASROCK killer z370
I dont have intel
z370 is for intel
But i dont have intel
i would get intel but it kinda expensive :(
When i get enough money i’ll make my pc good(NEVER)
What socket do you need?
Have a look at the ASROCK b450
i mean as long as its b450
^
Ummm
There's some good units on Amazon.
Dude ii found a good one
Look at MB's like GPU's
they use same chipsets, so different manuacturers cant provide more than 5% boost, meanwhile top end GPU can cost 20% extra of the same tier as default one
and at that point ud rather go up a level
msi pros are ok
do pc parts ever arrive faulty
They can but it's unlikely. If a part arrives and doesn't work as intended just contact the manufacturer and they'll get you a replacement
Umm.
If the PC won't turn on that means something is wrong with the power supply.
Or something isnt connected correctly
If the PC doesn't post at all that means the PSU is bad or you didn't plug in a cable correctly, but if the PC posts then the mobo should give you an error code telling you what's wrong with it
Lol I remember when I built my first PC I forgot to plug in the power connector to the drive so when I went into the BIOS I wondered why it wasn't detecting my drive
Check all the cables, ensure you've got a high enough wattage on the PSU, check that there's no damage to the PSU. Or check to make sure that you've plugged the power button in.
Hi, Anyone that can help me put together a pc for 1500k.
1.500.000? :O
Maaaaan if you can afford that much splash it on top end stuff!
2 Rtx 2080tis, i9 processor, 64gb ram, all the hard drive and SSDS, M2's and that 65inch hp omen monitor.
You'd probably still have enough for 4 repeated builds and that 55 inch Alienware oled monitor lmao
How did you know my setup @stuck bluff? :O
I'm sure you can spare one for the poor 🥺
Nah, it's only the one RTX2080Ti, 32GB RAM, 2TB nvme and a 49" ultrawide
To be honest my next upgrade is a 2080 super, ultra wide gaming monitor but not sure which yet. I'm between the LG 34gn850, Alienware 18w, or the MSI MPG341 but I'll probably get a vesa desk mount for it too
I've been wanting a stand for it but it's just so heavy
What monitor do you have? 👀
so who wants to buy me a 2070 super :))
We aren’t made out of money
Intending to upgrade some stuff at some point in the future
Just sorta tight on money
If you're gonna be gaming don't get 60hz monitors lol
Go for at least 120hz
Especially with a 2060. You'll be able to run AAA games on high/ultra and get 100-120 fps
Also if you aren't planning on overclocking the CPU you could get a 2600 and save a few bucks
240hz is more on the affordable side, but the games that benefit from it is very narrow, and the competitive scene on all games still uses 144hz
I'm thinking of buying a used laptop for my parents
Any suggestions?
Should be a reasonable price but doesn't have to be super cheap
Are you buying one or two and what do you think they'll use it for
is there a screen size preference?
there some really nice ultrabooks that you can grab at a good price
The bigger the better really
But I may force them to go a little smaller
I've been looking at some Thinkpads like the T460 and X1 Carbon
The X1 Carbon would be a solid choice!
I just saw a cool review on a ultrabook that davd2d did recently...let me see if I can find it
you cant see the geforce rtx 2080 and the other stuff inside it bc its too dark but who cares
oof thats kinda tight budget @pulsar fossil . you can find a x1 carbon for under 300 euros? or are you considering pre-owned
gotcha! yea second hand is probably the way to go then
Ye
I cant wait till i can finaly get an Aorus Graphics card thats really all thats missing from my build of internal components
To be fair, that's going to be my next big spend. Aorus 2080 super.
I recently got a 2060 Super, computer runs everything so well now
It's not a 2080 but it will do
My current "battlestation" is a laptop with an i7-8550U, Intel UHD 620 graphics. I don't really think I need to send a picture, as that should get the point across - but if you'd like to see that, I'll send one. Once I get my new laptop for college, I'll discuss that one as well.
I don't feel like taking screenshots of my computer because the cable management is a rats nest, but my specs are:
CPU: Ryzen 7 3800X @ 3.9GHz
MOBO: AB350M Pro4
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2x8 GB DDR4-2400MHz
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 7200RPM
GPU: MSI RTX 2060 SUPER 8 GB Ventus GP
Case: Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5
PSU: PowerSpec 550W 80+ Bronze
The ram is 🤡 💀
I mean, it's more ram than my current computer. I have one stick of sodimm 8gb ram. 2400MHz.
I may upgrade to 32 GB @ 3200MHz but
Either 8x4 or 16x2 is what I'm debating about before I plan on buying
I'm getting a new laptop for college that is 16gb, 3200MHz I believe. So once that comes I'll be set.
It also has a Ryzen 9 4900HS, RTX 2060 Max-Q
Yeah, I decided to invest a bit more. I could've gotten something weaker for $400 less, but I just decided this was a better choice
it will push through more and last a lot longer
Especially when, in college, I'm going to be doing a lot of Premiere Pro and After Effects work. The more power the better.
Hey all. I'm thinking about upgrading to the i7 10th gen, but too sure yet. I'm running a 3 year old build, but it still holds up pretty good. i7 7700k 4.2GHz, GeForce 2070 RTX Super, Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI Mobo, 16GB Ripjaws (don't remember specs off top of my head). Using a 970 Evo Plus M.2 Drive, a 850 Evo, and a WD Blue HDD
feelsbadman/10
I would upgrade my storage but I am more concerned of upgrading my RAM rather than my storage
@noble oak when it comes to game loading times you dont really knowtice a diffrence between NVMe and SSD
I have an M.2 NVMe and a SSD in my PC along with two Massstorage drives and when i run games off my M/2 i dont know tices any diffrence in loadtimes at all
nicu
Spicy
Corsair Vengeance Pro 32 GB @ 2400MHz seems to be going for a fairly good price so I may risk the money for the Arctis 7 for RAM
Can sell my current RAM for like $50 tho and dep some cash I have
My wallet doesn't like this number
Just brought this chair
Maaan, I tries to sit on those gaming chairs
For me persinally well cushioned office boss chair is much more comfy
I like to cross legs sometimes and all, those are like copies from sports cars chairs and made to be sit at like straight all the time
But in the end all people know that northinf beats herman miller chairs
Just the price is RIP
big facts
I bought some Vengeance Pro ram from Best Buy an hour ago and they’re still preparing so that’s nice
1660super is good?or bad?
I'd say wait a bit for the 30 series cards to be announced, because likely every other card will drop in price
I don't think it'll be too long until they announce them given how many leaks there are atm
I am looking forward to the announcement of the 30 series.
@hearty ravine
oh thats not that bad at all, thanks!
here's my PC all red along with the hallway and doorway lol, once again please pardon my awful wiring inside
and yes I have two model Boeing 737-800s on the top for the avgeeks
both united; one continental and one new
Just built a system with the idea of not having RGB, insted of UV 🙂
https://youtu.be/qI7kwykt7NA
If the video is not ok to be posted here, please let me know so I can delete it 🙂

@restive root I wonder how well will you be able to see the dust once it appears 😄
Ok i know this inst a set upo but doesnt this look cheaply made
@golden ocean Will see in time 😁
also once i get a decent angle i will take a pic of my "battlestation"
@restive root I saw you putting a strip at one part on the vid, is it UV?
Yep. I put 2 UV strips in it :)
The monitor is insane, I love it
would love to get a decent table at this point, but the flat im renting doesnt really have a place for it
I'm also using IKEA desk and it's just ok for now :))
yeah, the idea is to get the table top from there
and maybe order the legs for it
seperate
cause gaming tables are a scamm imo
I've got a white top and 2 ALEX drawers for legs
I m in the same mood for the gaming desks
they are basically meant for 1 monitor too which is a meme
I have a Cougar armor s and I like it. Using it for the past 2 years almost
😄
As much as i tried to like them, trying out and etc
once i get my butt into those boss office chairs
Its very individual
Yup.. Thats why when I review a chair I suggest people to go and test it theirselves
Whats wrong with SSD?
isnt it the mobo?
The bios doesn't even recognise it
It may be
I will test on a different ryzen system
Although, I'm getting another ssd for this one
It's a review build
if u tried to use m.2 it might not be supported
altho wait
it says that it does support
few months ago i got a 970 evo or something and just blindly put it on
worked
i got a z370
still should check if it runs on full cap tho 😄
It's a nice drive
but anyone reading this : I got 1 tb HDD at first for PC, was ok, then got extra samsung 850 250gb and put windows there with a few games. Boy does the 250gb melt quick. If anyone building a pc and is very short on $ like I was initially its ok go upgrade as you go, but please, save up for at least 500gb SSD when u do go SSD
i played the MW like not BR one for quite some time
with all those bugs and what not
didnt even bother with BR 100gbs
BR is ded
The whole game is 186 gb now
its like 50$ SSD just to store it at this point
I only played plunder with my girlfriend for some time and that's it
50$ of any SSD
