my main is also suspended
riprip
good collection there
still running my siberia 200's
@minor onyx don't you think there's a bit of space underneth the steelseries log for a bluetooth chip + a battery? https://steelseries.com/gaming-keyboards/apex-m750-tkl
Oh hey that's the keyboard I won
Hey if you can make it work go for it. Just don't hurt it it's too pretty
Wait a minute
No this isn't mine. I have the non tkl. The one with a numpad so my logo is above the numpad
Certainly wouldn't ba able to put a chip in mine I wouldn't think. Not sure about that one.
So between the arrows and the key above, there's a space that's about as big as the tkl version, you don't think a chip and some battery could reside?
BT chips are pretty small, so if you had an equally small battery, possibly.
issue is, what kind of battery?
Lithium iON,. what else?
lipo
idk
pretty cheap with high voltage and looooads of capacity... idk what you'd need to power the m750 for instance
uhm what does the uv coating help againts?
Wearing down the keycaps i believe
like, rubbing the lettering off them
and i do believe it also helps with how it feels
@jagged sinew what are u trying to do
Wireless keyboard mod
@jagged sinew U wanna make it wireless urself
Ye
@jagged sinew How do u do that 😮 Is it possible with the Steelseries apex 750?
AH nvm I got no bluethooth in my mobo
building a $1000 pc this summer. First timer any suggestions?
I'd recommend waiting for the new AMD stuff
jan 7
@noble oak I want to crack it open, route the internal usb cable to somewhere, where there's space for a chip.
@jagged sinew oh
Do you think there could be space in the space above the arrow keys?
About a thumb, maybe smaller
any thoughts about the Radeon 5700XT? Please, don't start with efficiency discussions and manufacturing process thoughts.
I am asking from a pure user/gamer pov. It's RTX2070 performances, without the gimmicky RT-NvidiaBased technology and for 50/70$ less.
It also has the sharpening feature which looks cool...
If we have to discuss power consumption and manufacturing process:
- Nvidia made up figures, but they can only assume Radeon consume over its TBP
- RTX cards are breaking, and also easier than expected in many use case I saw over the internet so I won't call onto being "cooler" or easier to run
- I'd like to wait reviews and under-volting benefits before jumping to power figures and or goodness of the architecture...this stuff is going into consoles, so unless we are preparing for a broken gen (like the 360/PS3 were) they must be easy to maintain into specific temperature ranges
- I owned GTX480/580/670...and they were hot. So this whole argument over 4C and 50$ of electricity bill each 4 years is a bit overrated, from my POV
I wonder the benefits of the low latency tech @144+ FPS
im sure the nvidia cards gonna be cheaper at least thats what ive heard(if they havent alrdy lowered the price) ? if i would choose i would still take the nvidia card for the geforce experience and rt support
the sharpening looks cool i agree
3year warranty so in that time i expect that there will be even better cards and better tech
Doesn't the 1080 or 1080TI perform the same or outperform the 2070 in most areas anyway and is cheaper?
Yes, they do. But it looks not so easy to find a new 1080Ti at the right price here in UK...I'm going to do a new build at the end of the year...I am pretty sure I am going to buy the 3800X as CPU but I don't know what to get as graphics card
I currently play 1080p with 144Hz display...and I plan to update to a 240Hz sometimes in the future
this 5700XT seems to be a better alternative to the 1080Ti than the RTX2070
I really don't care about Ray Tracing now...but I can't get a proper idea of the product...
performance and price are right, features are good enough and AMD tends to improve performance over time at the same rate as Nvidia if not at a better one in some rare/specific cases
but the 1080Ti has a more mature architecture and is a solid performer, so I would still tend to buy one rather than something new and unexplored like the 5700XT
there's also the 7nm node which is a big interrogative:
- it's new
- we are closer to the Moore's Law limits
- doesn't mean anything in terms of "efficiency" because an unstable node breaks any possible improvement
in fact, seems to work really great with the CPUs, but not as well with the graphics cards as well as for the APUs and SoCs (even Apple A12 didn't had any major gain from the last year's A11)
one thing i was thinking since it has the game clock but possibly can reach way higher clocks maybe theyll sell some beefy coolers for it with even better clocks
Yeah...I was looking for Sapphire/Asus/MSI custom boards but still none have been announced
If they do not tend to overheat a beefy cooler means extra performances
and honestly I'd give AMD a chance at that point
I think that the PCI-Exp 4.0 bus will also help a lot using those GDDR6 RAM at max capacity in the long run
which is something to consider
I'm pre-disposed to dislike AMD cards myself. My first time buying a GPU was an AMD that was utter garbage. Broke in just under a year with it making the screen go a dark green and the audio making this loud grinding sound. Would stay that way till I rebooted. Was a constant thing. A bit my fault for not buying warranty, but still. Went to Nvidia after that and had great cards since.
@minor onyx nothing lasts forever. My first Radeon card was a 9200 Atlantic, then I bought the 9800XT and it was a great card as well...it lasted me 6 years and served well also my father's PC. After that I bought the X1600XT which was amazing but then, without even trying, just from the state of the drivers I switched to Nvidia's GTX580.
After the 580 I bought two GTX670 in SLi: great setup, but...after some driver released (not even 12 months) I had to dismantle my SLi setup because became useless...I used a single 670 until last year with 0 issues.
In the meanwhile AMD wasn't doing really well from a technical POV and so I decided to buy the 1070 and...the last 12 months have been the most confusing of my life...
I think that I have a certain amount of performances while they simply sink down for two driver releases and then come back one release later...
this is really disturbing and way similar to the experience I had at the EOL of my old X1600XT
so, even Nvidia can screw up and is screwing up...
Yes but mine went awful in under a year. Combined with the fact it was my first GPU purchase...
lot of bad practices in the last two years
You can't let a single experience to determine your purchase
I just jumped off Radeon's boat to Nvidia's one when Nvidia started releasing a better product
FX5000/6000/7000/8000 where really bad in front of ATi Radeon cards at the time...but then with the 5xx series the wheel turned
I don't know if AMD is worhty for sure now...but I think is worth considering the product and analize it before deciding what to do
Was an awful first experience for Radeon, plus while AMD has always had great price to performance, I preferred the raw power of most GTX cards. My 1060 could run most things on 1080p on high with 40-50fps, and my 1080 can run most things at 1440p with anywhere from 60-144fps
that's the spirit which drives me considering...RTX cards are garbage, and they brake easily within weeks
do you understand that you are speaking of Pascal alone while I am giving you a 19-years-old experience insight?
I'm not saying I don't understand you...but before the nightmare-ish period they were the leading company
Only ever used pascal. My first card was an AMD R9 380 that I had for about a year. Maybe two. After that I jumped to the 1060 when the 10 series released. Before the AMD I was stuck with an AMP APU.
Well, so you missed Polaris 10/20 which was the only worthy GCN based architecture...but is not competitive against Pascal anyway so I would've said you to buy Nvidia instead any time of day
Now Navi is worth considering a chance
and the Adrenaline drivers look like a finally worthy software suite
probably I'm going to buy a 1080Ti, but I think I'm going to wait for reviews and user experience before cutting out something. One thing is sure, is really difficult to compare such similar products
when the difference is just 3/10% and 50$...it all comes to software preference rather than actual difference in the gaming experience
i bought used 1080ti still in warranty year ago for 700€ i think that was my best investment
before that i had gtx 1070 which i sold back for the price i bought it for
I am building from scratch...but I don't think I would spend that amount of money for a 1080ti
I could buy it, but at a fair price
Anyone have those new SS keyboards in their arsenal yet?
Is it worth upgrading from m750
@dark linden Unless you’re in a rush to build I’d suggest waiting for real-world performance and benchmarks for the RX 5700 XT. At face value: In AMD’s benchmarks it matches/beats the 2070 is some titles (taken with a grain of salt of course), has image enhancement features (people are making jokes and means about RTX on and DLSS). The 2070 Super might be coming as well so that could be a potential option, as it’s expected to be a bit better than the original 2070 at the 5700’s price.
I’d just suggest waiting for a bit.
@trim blaze I'm waiting through the end of the year anyway so I'll have time to check price/performance and pick the best choice for my use case.
The SUPER stuff seems a gimmicky rebranding (from the latest rumors) and I hope is not so...it will make a mess with prices just to steal clients and honestly I don't like when company do this, is just trying to kill something good before it even starts...
Regarding AMD benchmarks I am a lot curious because they claimed they used the best rendering API/scenario for each card and ultra settings, so in some slides you could see AMD using Vulkan while Nvidia using DX11 because they were their best performance scenario...I'm curious to see if this is true at the same preset and if some magazine/youtuber/tech-zine will try to replicate that test or if they will just ignore the use case.
Because honestly I always swap from Vulkan/DX11/DX12 with my 1070 and stick with the most performing rendering API in my machine...I think this is a fair comparison.
Yeah, we’ll see
the super is def better than the 2070 normal no other reason they would sell it
How much though
The 1080 performs about the same as the 2070 and the 1080TI performs better. The only thing the 2070 has over them is Ray tracing. They still sold that though.
The SUPER is rumored to be a re-branded 2080...so the super version of each card will be a rebranded version of the higher tier card...
and this will create a mess...if it's true I can already see broken drivers and two identical cards sold at different prices...
It's really shady...I hope next gen will be better/clearer...because Nvidia either risks to sell now to undersell next gen (and for us there's no gain in performance) or to come out with some amazing RTX 30xx series...
in every case, I'll take what's the best performance/bucks in the 1080p/144Hz territory
😛
@minor onyx I was fairly sure that the 2070 outperformed the 1080 by around ~10%
1080 and 2070 are roughly equal
Really?
I mean I know they’re in the same range and are like pretty close
But I was sure the 2070 had at least like 5-7% more performance
I guess it’s within the margin of error ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Yes, roughly equal. You don't get any real noticeable improvements in the 2070 vs the 1080 that justifies a switch. The 2070 does have better multi peak rendering and is apparently cheaper now so there's that as an incentive to buy one over a 1080, but if you have one already then there's not really any reason to switch unless you really want Ray tracing. The 1080TI on the other hand outperforms the 2070 and the 2080. Likewise the 2080 is better than the regular 1080, but isn't a massive improvement.
One thing about 2070 vs 1080 though is that the 2070 uses GDDR6, more bandwidth
This is true
Yeah, I figured. A switch really isn’t justifiable. If you’re buying from scratch, then sure.
Though the GDDR6 also seems to be failing a lot as well
Seen lots of people get bad VRAM on the 20 series
I'm actually kind of surprised the 2070 is so cheap though
Though that may be why
More than the GDDR6 I would say that the poor memory VRMs implemented by Nvidia fail a lot easier than GDDR5X ones
All the Steelseries love with my set up
nice
It's a better binned chip with something special maybe the IHS or something
ah
Could anyone make me a PC part picker for a gaming computer under 500? My brother will build it
under 500 what? GBP? USD? AUD?
How much can you stretch over $500?
@chilly edge sorry for late response. The highest i could probably go is 550 usd
Oof
ok im awake now and i've gotten it to $560
Double the ram at a faster speed with a 6c/12t ryzen 5 1600 and a better power supply and better case
This is effectively the mATX version of my rig, and I can tell you that that machine would handle most AAA games. I can run Division 2 on an RX 570 (be it mine from PowerColor, not Gigabyte, and OCed to 1425 on the core and 2000 on mem) at an average of 100 FPS on my system. One thing to note though-I would STRONGLY recommend adding more case fans as soon as you can afford to later on. Both Ryzen and Polaris love airflow, and adding in 2 140mm Noctua fans to the front and a single 120mm to the back as exhaust dropped my GPU temps by like 20C and my CPU temps by 10C
You would be hard-pressed right now to find a much better budget buy, if seeking performance-per-dollar like I imagine you are @median tangle, then AMD right now, ESPECIALLY with their APUs right now, which would save you another $10ish there, and if all you're looking to run would be esports titles like Fortnite and CSGO, negate the immediate need for a discrete GPU like the 570 in @chilly edge's list
Don't expect 100+ FPS though, but you'll definitely hit or exceed 60FPS
I mean if we needed an essay being written about the parts list, i'd be more than happy to do it.
i got lots of crazy ideas that i could try, but i dont know if people would want to do it
Decent?
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400g
Memory: 8 GB
Storage: 250 GB SSD
GPU: AMD Radeon Vega 11
Power Supply: 400W
Price: $450
what games would you be playing with that? @median tangle
Fortnite, Apex, PUBG, CSGO, mostly those
There's this for $550 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/68dJ6s
Ryzen 5 2400g
16gb RAM
1tb HDD, 250gb SSD
650w fully modular 80+ gold EVGA power supply
Deepcool matrexx 55
Some Coolermaster RGB fans
thats like 100 more dude
I know
but so much more
better case, better ram
it looks pretty with all the RGB
100bucks could be invested to a used gpu
true
but then having a good base system to upgrade off of is good too
you don't want to have to swap the case and PSU when you next upgrade
@median tangle that looks good
but can you find faster memory for it?
like 3200mzh~
esp ryzen will notice the performance improvement on the ram side
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YLwjw6
here i think this would be better @median tangle
i highly recommend ram to be 16gb
and the ssd should last you longer
@median tangle does it have to be an mATX build?
and i think the best thing to do is wait for AMD's new processors
Alright. I'm not sure about the airflow of the Q300L, and i would advise you to get an ASRock b450m Pro4 over the MSI gaming motherboard
can you guys help me with the budget? I want to renovate the computer. I have budget of 3000$ And I would like the New GPU and New Core I. And Also Some case.
Personally, i'd recommend waiting for AMD's new processors.
cooler master h500p
meshify C
SilverStone RL06 Pro
@blissful robin those are good cases
we don't witch hunt
honestly, i think if steelseries found a way to provide doubleshot keycaps then it'd be great
Lols...you can buy doubleshot keycaps for literally 30$ on internet...Corsair asks 70$ extra for those 😛
btw it could be a nice add-on...even if I don't mind the regular ones...
I suppose
frick razer
knowing corsair keycaps 😂 i wouldnt even consider buying pbt ones from them
cool tilt wheel mod :b
Gaming keyboards are cool, but I prefer more enthusiast keyboards.
@south radish How "enthusiast" are the keyboards you prefer?
no distractions, makes no noise and they have a actuation point of u gotta press it in, and it types it in. Would pay good money for that. Also repairable.
@chilly edge I still like to game, so right now I use Kailh Speed Copper switches.
Not the switches, the keyboard itself
are the new Apex keyboards out of stock for the uk? 😦
@chilly edge I'm running a GMMK because it's hotswappable, until I find a good 75% keyboard. I also need new keycaps too; I'm just using the keycaps off of my ducky one 2
75%, id recommend the KBD75 from kbdfans
That's nice, Lennart!
Now I'm just waiting on getting the pro version
@knotty laurel yeah 😀
Looking forward to trying it
I can understand that, the Pro is really something else!
@pulsar fossil can I have your old one 😉😉
Sorry @tropic notch :P
:( @pulsar fossil
I need an upgrade for my Apex M500 at home :(
I don't have a keyboard :(
Well that sucks
Y’all mind if I send a pic of my all razer setup?
Yeeyyeee
ahaha sure
Reason: Posted an invite
I was beckoned!
Yeeyee
You have done well @tropic notch
@harsh sparrow 👍👍👍
Hey @tropic notch can you give me a little feedback about your new Rival 600 and your QCK Heavy because I would buy them and I want a little bit of your feedback about that.
@sour mason I'm not the guy you were asking but I have the Rival 600 and the QCK Heavy, is there anything in particular that you wanted to know?
@sour mason The mouse is very good, just in time the side grip things will like, lose their glue under them..
@sour mason No idea I got the qck prism XL
i would buy the qck edge xxl
It is just like the prism only without lights
ok
Yes
I would buy something like the edge but with the size of the heavy
I seeee
@noble oak I know about this side grip mistake on the rival 600,do you know a solution because I would buy it for my self
No idea yet
The actuation of the Omni Point switch is only a 1-10 setting and not the exact number of mm.Do you know maybe what numer from 1-10 is 1.5mm?
@oblique quarry https://www.3daimtrainer.com/ might help you adjust your sensitivity
did a quick run of that and it doesnt feel quite exact
i like it
looks nice
@raven valve I think you should send it to me :)
@tropic notch no sorry 😂😂 but I spent a lot of time (3 years) to bring everything together
:(
What’s Best?
CUK Stratos: https://www.amazon.com/Stratos-Desktop-Graphics-3000MHz-Computer/dp/B07SF86V5Y
Buy SkyTech Shadow - Gaming Computer PC Desktop – Ryzen 3 1300X 4-Core 3.5GHz, Radeon RX 580 4G, 1TB HDD, 8GB DDR4, AC WiFi, 24X DVD ROM, Windows 10 Home 64-bit at Walmart.com
@median tangle build your own, it's better
Build own pc ♥️
Definitely
But remember, for some folks, prebuilt PCs are best for some :)
yeah
I got a prebuilt in 2015 to share with my brother for christmas
it was great value
but now that im a bit older
build PC all the way
I'm using one now and besides the fact that it doesn't have any spare PCI-E it's pretty nice
An Omen Obelisk to be exact.
my experience with prebuilt pc systems is that they're always so expensive
you save at least 100 bucks building your own pc
Paying 100 bucks to have someone else build your machine for you and get warranty on the entire machine rather than the individual parts seems like a good deal to me 🤷
lennart #1337 Leeet
@spare elk that's why I picked it :p
nice
@pulsar fossil except that you couæd probalby build it yourself even cheaper because of the parts they use. But prebuilds aren't a baf thing i just like to configure my builds myself
@graceful egret the nzxt starter build is actually a really good build, it costs $899 and to build it yourself (buying all the parts) it'd be $855, and there's free shipping (in the US at least)
thanks @fiery monolith
Incacerated this kidrobot munny in my h700i gonna do laser etched glass design as well as case artwork as a tester. Don't laff at the 4th gen in there hah
its a i7 4790k over clocked to 4.7ghz handles all the adobe programs (they are not set up to use cpu, ram or fpu fully)
or just be a normiie
Or be mobile lol
:D
I'll share a pic later when my desk isn't as much of a mess
It's an ultrawide from Samsung
32:9, so pretty much "just" two regular 1080p screens in one
I'd love an ultrawide but for a 144hz one they get pricey
yeah that is pricey
I paid £200 for each of my monitors
they've got quite slim bezels so I can pretend its an ultrawide 😢
This one is only a loaner sadly
what size one is it? is it the ridiculously big 49 inch one they do?
I mean I have two 24.5 inch monitors but as one unit that is massive
Yeah, 49" @lilac marten
@tropic hollow is that apple...
@muted viper yes :)
why hath thou betrayed us ?
Pssch.. There's nothing wrong with using MacOS
if its on a mac there is
if you hackintosh then its cool
but not on the mac itself
Don't be a hater, that's silly :)
what cases tho?
that throttle like crazy
But the MacBook Pro I have is seriously one of the best laptops I've ever used
It doesn't throttle
That's a problem with the newer ones :)
The Apple tv is amazing
?
I use mine a lot
fire TV/ android something-or-other-TV
I have an american iTunes account and use it for tv shows and movies
I way prefer the Apple TV
But that's just me :)
could use steam link even
yes
I have one. Never used it :D
lol
I need a box that can give 4k and HDR
i got one during a sale
Sleek interface and a nice design with a good remote
about 5 USD
funny how much steam pulls you in with their sales
yeah
i just bought rust the other day because it was on sale steam still has a hold on me
goodbye money
:D
my wallet has less than 10 USD in it because of steam summer sales and my new PC 😄
well i have a bit more saved away, but you get the picture
That was the joke
ik lol
@winged parrot
would seem to be working again
you got your lvls back
and i have my measly 3
could have something to do with the grand prix badge
i know alot of people was exploiting i was one of them lol
i havent lost my levels yet so fingers crossed lol
went from 16 to 29 just by playing starbound and drinking sodas then exchanging points for the badge
you peeps prefer amd or intel?
Intel if i wanna flex the money AMD if i wanna build something that saves me money
everybody looves drinking sodas
Intel if i wanna flex the money AMD if i wanna build something that saves me money let me rephrase that, Intel if you wanna flex how much money you just spent on a (soon) inferior product and AMD if you wanna build something that is equal or better than competition for cheaper with less security flaws
Yea
Pic of my rig (pic is a little dated have a 1660TI Evga XC ultra in there now and the cables were replaced with much cleaner looking black and gray)
@burnt badge not with ZEN2
you can get the power without the price tag or so we've heard
@spare elk AMD all the way more so with ZEN2 release (iv always built budget PCs so amd is my friend)
but i will say both my CPU and GPU are amd atm 😄
Same here @muted viper
My laptop is AMD powered and I have nothing against it. My desktop is Intel/Nvidia powered and I also have nothing against it
honestly i don't know enough about the AMD GPU ecosystem
@fast jewel ima be honest with you i have the same problem
but reversed
i dont know enought about nvidia 😄
@winged parrot
oh my god wait wait is that real oh my
people of culture in here
im saying you guys are people of culture its a saying lol its like saying you have good taste
ik but i guess that means you like rust lol
yes and pc building sim
lol
its not the most accurate game but its cool building a pc here and there in it to get a feel
Anyone used V1 Tech for a RGB GPU back plate?
I know it's a bit old but here it is
Arctis 3 / Rival 300 / Apex 150
And my GPU and CPU Specs are
NVIDIA geforce gtx 1050 TI / Ryzen 5 1600x
Here is my entire setup
Nice
damn i ordered a pg27q off of amazon, because it was reduced to £350 from around £700
it seemed to good to be true
and well yeah it was
Even though it said the seller was asus
it was some scam company
f
F
lol i dont have anything that i can sell thats worth more than $50
my entire pc is worth $75 total
any reasons i can tell my mom why she should let me buy myself a pc with my own money?
@fast jewel realy lol
Dunno. So far all my keyboards had it to be honest. I mainly use my Corsair K95 tho but this was a give away from Logitech
It's probably just the keyboard layout for your country
here in the UK, the left shift is split into 2 keys
from a keyboard discord, https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/443851583546195980/597041707221254144/IMG_20190706_132319_0.jpg?width=576&height=432 the Left shift, instead of being 2.25u (1u = the size of a letter key), it's a 1.25u shift and a 1u backslash key
uh, my specs hmm
well they are kind of fine, I guess
Intel i7-8550U clocked at 1.8 GHz, Intel UHD 620 graphics
it's a laptop with a monitor hooked up to it
8 GB ram
not much else to share about it
My specs are
small left shift is fine
it makes it hilarious when people using ANSI complain about the shift key
OHHHHHHH
@magic hamlet yes
my CPU is lower end amd summit ridge (first gen ryzen chips) and its base clock is 3.20ghz
seems to be in some power saving thing tho lol
my cpu doesn't stay at 1.8 GHz though
most of the time when playing games or doing tasks it jumps to at least 2.6 GHz
Seems kinda odd that that's its base speed
obviously it goes higher but mine is rated 2.66 and its waaaaaay low end
probably an extremely portable laptop lol
for more power efficiency
@chilly edge is that an illuminati escape key?
maybe
It's not righ
@pulsar fossil

not a fan of virtualization i see
It's a new PC at work and I haven't had a use for it yet :)
It's just the default setting
ooooohhhh i see
very good choose on the processor
wish my work would do that instead we have a good ole i3 3rd gen
ooo bet its a beast
thats incredible!
im using the 1660TI atm cause im a budgeter but i will say the 1660TI is an incredible card
Nice
I use the 1660ti too, great card, much better than the 770 I upgraded from 😂
🤠
It is not great, this mouse is the meaning of glory!😂
It is way better than my old mouse, the G502
Nice mouse👌
Okay sooo im pretty new with building pcs etc... Is this (1100 euro ish) build alright? https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/mwnZtg . I want to take the MSI Radeon RX 5700 graphics card, it wasn't listed. I didnt took a cooler because the cpu already has one included. Please correct me if something is wrong :).
this moment when you realize he uses dollar
no reason he would use dollar if his link contains NL, Netherlands.
I could't see the video card I wanted, the Msi radeon rx 5700. It is around 390 euros
So I will hit around 1100 euros
But besides the price etc. Would it be a good build? Or are there better options to take?
Uhh, i'd probably get a different case and maybe a better power supply
but definitely get case fans.
Okay I will try and go for 600watt then
Someone else reccomended me to get more fans if I want to overclock, but I don't want to
Do I still need more fans?
Okayy, thanks for the info!
@chilly edge so... amd ryzen 9 3900x or i9 9900k?
Can't figure out which to go with
Ryzen seems obvious for a pc that will also be used for editing/streaming
But Intel has nice acceleration for video export
I'll be using it for gaming, streaming and editing video
thoughts?
What will you be doing with that PC?
@pulsar fossil is a fake chart...
has been alreadyt confirmed as fake
Intel lovers are burning right now 😂
Oh dang. Thanks
@noble oak the Tomahawk has not enough VRM to make that 3900x boost properly...I would go for a Crosshair VII X470 with that CPU, or I would just buy a 3700X which is a solid performer.
Also wait for AIB Radeon 5700, it already outperforms the RTX 2060 but that stock blower fan is no-good.
i think i am going with the 3700x
Hey guys I have a question, who have the Arctis Pro + GameDAC?
like a link @nimble crescent ?
@muted viper what?
like PCPP
yeah
what country?
greece
not sure what prices are in greece, there isn't a PCpartpicker for it
yea i know
Hey guys I have a question, who have the Arctis Pro + GameDAC?
Because I have a problem and i wanna know if it is normal for Arctis pro + GameDAC user
My cable is always twisting and get broken
there's enough glue to stick it back on
i hate you all
I ask a question:no one is reacting
someone other ask an question:instant react
rma the mouse
Sounds like a cable issue more than anything
and i didn't even see your question, let alone do i have a Game DAC
ok
@noble oak What is “rma”?
A return merchandise authorization, return authorization or return goods authorization is a part of the process of returning a product to receive a refund, replacement, or repair during the product's warranty period.
so a warranty?
yes its an old power mac.

here you have working log, before the x299 went in, a 1150 based system was installed
Razer keyboard bleh
77€ seems a lot
Especially for a shitty keyboard
You could've bought anything
The ducky one 2s mini is a $100
There's some $50 60% mechanicals on Amazon 🤷♂️
@sour mason nice keyboard ! Nice peripherals. Razer microphone is stylish too
My headset is the arctis 3 2019 edition
ola
can anyone tell me, where you can see in the 3d mark how much mhz the memory of the gpu effectively ran with?
Hey! So I have been working this summer and effectively saving up money for my first pc build.
I need some tips on what the case should be and if my parts would fit in it
I do have every other part but the case already decided, however, I am willing to change out the GPU for something less.
I do have the pcpartpicker link if anyone would like to help
yeah, post the PCPP link
what willl you use the computer for @naive dune
I believe to game with good efficiency
But maybe down the line I might try to stream?
idk
All im saying is i need an upgrade
I'd skip the Hyper 212 Black edition cooler
the 2700X's stock cooler is fine
and then put that money into a better power supply
Okay! So what about the case?
and do you think I should get an open case like the Thermaltake Core P90 or P5 , or one with tempered glass, or just no glass at all?
marktplaats
Pardon?
Whatever suits your taste, but tyr to have one with decent airflow.
Oh, and a PSU Shroud also looks good
I'd get a larger upgrade, like this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JfBrxr/corsair-txm-gold-750w-80-gold-certified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020131-na
@chilly edge ok another question, should I make it rgb? and downgrade the GPU a little (I really dont mind) and get a nice looking case? maybe get liquid cooling?
Honestly, the stock cooler will do fine, and if you remove something to get a nicer case, you can remove 16gb of RAM. You only need 32gb if you're doing any sort of video editing or design work like 3d rendering.
So I'm looking into building my first within the next few months, and I have a flexible budget of $1000 and I already have a monitor and peripherals
And I will be using it mostly for gaming
@chilly edge maybe you can help?
Tempered glass or anything?
I'd like a side with glass but it doesn't matter too much
Something like this should do fine https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8CjB8Y
Thank you @chilly edge
Wait, you could do with some case fans
🤔
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kJvdpG added some RGB fans, but that might not be your thing
Thank you again lol
@chilly edge What about 24gb of ram (:
No need
So 16.. would that be enough to run minecraft ray tracing shaders?
Shaders are garbage, long live lightmaps
Will it be enough to make it look good??
Yes I would think an 8c/16t CPU would be enough
Nah, the x470 master is good
No. They make Power supplies, Cases, Fans and peripherals.
@chilly edge is a 1660 better than a 1070?
I was wondering cuz then rgb would match up
1660Ti is roughly equivalent to a 1070Ti i believe
Hm
(Im putting 1660ti in mine if u want u should too lmao)
@chilly edge what motherboard should i get for prettier rgb lol
actually i decided on no rgb
its cheaper and I can idk do other stuff with the money
btw @chilly edge do i need any like cablemod or something?
no
Yes, the stock cooler has pre-applied paste.
@noble oak shut up!
Boi u just wasted monet
I built my pc in march with i7-9700k and I am literally a bit annoyed now with these new amd cpus
only my windowed sidepanel is missing
specs of the whole system:

sadly the memory has hynix chips on it so over 3000mhz is not possible
rlly
invest a few euros for a used 1050ti and you are good to go
link
yes really
well looks like its expensive
what did u expect for 82€?
im just wondering
why do you guys build pcs
and not just get a good laptop instead
since PCs can't be taken everywhere
why should i want a crappy laptop lol that cost double that i pay for a good pc
what is this questian about? lul
@winged parrot do the homework and search on ebay
cause i would buy a laptop right
for work
Since I must take the laptop places
and dell fps 13 with i7 would cost me about 1.8k
you said gaming pc and then u started about asking for a laptop makes 0 sence
sense
yeah go for it
We buy and build PCs because we're mostly using it for gaming rather than say work
so we don't really need portability, and yeah, laptops are more expensive
@chilly edge we don't need it to be portable.
and btw can you guys help me to manage my pc. i would like to upgrade it.
Alright, im here
Intel core i7 8700k
Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB
Samsung SSD 970 evo 250 GB
ram 16 GB (Corsair Ram with 2 slot left)
Z370 A PRO
Thermaltake M 620W (Bronze)
Still feel like it's not worth it.
I have 3000$ to upgrade
[My idea]
Ryzen 9 3900x
GTX 1080 TI or 2060
Samsung SSD 1TB 970 PRO or 500 GB SSD Samsung 970 Evo Plus or both
i see.
@chilly edge I am not very good at computer. so can you explain the different between Harddisk Solid States drive and M.2?
M.2 are smaller and faster
is your i7 8700k oced?
@noble oak boi you just wasted your life with hating me
Hehe
Nice!
@noble oak could you send me it to me to try it out, but it ends up being stuck in the mail on the way to you
Awh 😦
I couldn't find any other Ducky's in my country
So I went for that
It has no arrows sadly...
Well it does but not fully
I want a ss tkl or a 60%
Yea
xd
ok i cant live without my numpad lol
Me neither
I dont use it consciously but once i use a TKL keyboard i notice that it's gone and its just weird
I never liked the numpad. I am glad to have a TKL keyboard now.
i dont like numpad either just cus it takes way too much space from the mouse to be comfortable to use
esp gaming ones with numpad dont make any sense since most of the time its still on the right side
and for low dpi gaming even tkl feels too big
From tips I have been given
- get an ssd
for boot drive
and 2.
better power supply
(thanks for the tips Pachimaniac)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8C77fH here's one with an ssd
i'd upgrade the PSU
^ what he said and what i said before lmao
Prolly would have to ask @chilly edge But if you are going to buy a wraith cooler separately, I would maybe recommend upgrading the CPU to the Ryzen 7 2700(x). Both the regular and the X both have pretty good coolers that come with them. @tropic notch
From a personal standpoint. The 2700x's cooler worked perfectly for me until I got my AIO. OC'ed to 4ghz on all cores just using the stock cooler it came wiht
The regular 2700 is currently $150 on newegg. While your ryzen 5 2600+ cooler is priced at $160
Oh and also look for prime day deals
like the 2700x has come down in price to like $200
i aint nowhere close
me and SirKaiwade
Looks alright, but those case fans look like rip-offs
and so does the HDD
Also you can buy Windows 10 from SCPkey for much cheaper
And i'd pick up this SeaSonic powersupply (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WrNypg/seasonic-focus-plus-gold-650w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-650fx) for a bit cheaper than the EVGA one
@tropic notch u might as well get a seagate barracuda 2tb HDD instead of urs, the seagate is cheaper and the exact same pretty much
👍
waitwaitwait ryzen 2700x is only $200?
d a n g
@chilly edge if you don't mind I would like to ask information about Dual Core
@blissful robin unfortunately, i was sleeping.
I'm going to assume Dual Core processors though
@chilly edge Yes..
is fine tho.
Yeah i want to ask about using 2 CPU in the same PC
@chilly edge Dual Processor
Multi-core
Like Dual Processor motherboard
which put in 2 CPU like Core i9 and Ryzen 9 in like that
It's...
You have 2 processors
...
Most likely won't be 1:1 performance scaling for each added processor though
Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i5 @ 2.80GHz 28 °C
Coffee Lake 14nm Technology
RAM
16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1332MHz (19-19-19-43)
Motherboard
Micro-Star International Co. Ltd. Z370-A PRO (MS-7B48) (U3E1) 32 °C
Graphics
VA2719-2K (2560x1440@59Hz)
DELL 1704FPT (1280x1024@60Hz)
3071MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (MSI) 31 °C
Storage
465GB Samsung SSD 860 EVO M.2 500GB (SSD) 27 °C
1863GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 (SATA) 29 °C
14GB Generic Mass-Storage USB Device (USB)
Don't undwerstand what that's meant to mean but the Latency on that ram is attrocious
it's what you'd expect from 3600MHz, let alone 2666
lol i upgraded my ram
its 800mhz now :)
my mobo cant take any amd cpus or any intel cpus newer than the core 2 quad :,)
how much ram does anyone really need?
I prefer 32GB for certain workloads
i9-9900k or Ryzen 9 3900X for a brand new system. Would AMD be worth the wait?
What'll it be used for
Gaming, single-pc streaming and Adobe programs (PP, AE)
i think intel's slightly better at all of those, but personally for me, it's always AMD
Interesting
I think Adobe has favoured intel for a while, but yeah AMD has insane multicore for workloads
and if you use NVENC/GPU encoder for streaming everything should be fine
what
I'll most likely be using GPU encoding '
12c/24t CPU and he needs gpu encoding?
CPU encoding can be annoying
i guess
my little dualcore laptop cried when i made it record
my hexacore r5 was happy to record
Honestly I've never gone above 8gb of use for anything (3d renders, photoshop, premiere, AE, etc)
disclaimer though i doubt all of my ram works anyway lol
what
the 9900x is getting some nice packaging i think
@fast jewel wait isnt your PC the "worth less than $50" one?
yeah nice packaging
lazy me using XMP 😄
@novel summit meant the Ryzen 9 3900X not the 9900k
got the names mixed up
amd is easier to remember
my mem is at 3200
so me lazy
told ya
ok why is that the most resource intensive thing i have ever run in my life what
render distance maybe
its on the main menu lol
thats just how it is
lol may need to set a limit on that
You probably set the launcher to use 9Gb
that monitor is amazing
does it feel much more immersive than a flat normal size monitor?
It def does add to the experience
maybe if i win the lottery 😂 dont think my pc could run a game well enough to take advantage of that anyway
yeah i've got a 1660ti which is brilliant for 1080p 144hz gaming but anymore than that and I think it may struggle
And this screen is basically just 2x1080p
@minor onyx Nope its a fresh optifine install
lol my pc can barely handle the desktop at 1080p60 let alone that lol
Looks really nice tho
@fast jewel optifine auto configures your ram to a higher amount
i think its a multiple of how much you have
I wonder how much they paid for it this time
lol
lol
@uneven hornet dude you went all out, that's awesome!!
why the rival 500 just outta curiousity?
l u c k y
@tropic hollow thanks m8 its pukka and i don't really know why i have it only just got in to pc gaming and fort i could do with the extra buttons lol
Honestly I bought the Naga from Razer with the thumb grid and found that I prefer only two or three side buttons
in the case of SS 2 is enough because no sniper button
I’m aware tho
I hate sniper buttons omg, I once had a Corsair m65 and it was obnoxious
@uneven hornet nice arctis pro accessory I have the same one !
@dense crystal ? I love them
I used to have a g502 and that was literally the only thing i liked about it
Photoshop aint fun at 2000 dpi
I wanted the apex pro TKL keyboard but it drops until late September so I just copped the apex 7 TKL
What switches are good for the 7?
Depends on your preference I'd say
Yeah I'm not great with that stuff lol
For what it's worth I think only the one with red switches is available now
@naive dune thanks m8 . They look mint when on
is this a good starter pc and do I have every thing
@lone narwhal you need a gpu, probably don't need 32 gb of ram and you could probably upgrade the cpu with that $70 you're saving from removing 16 gb
thank you
@lone narwhal the list is pretty bad. I'd go for a third gen ryzen like the 3600, remove the liquid cooler since it's known for leaking, remove the extra 16 gb of ram, probs go for the msi b450 pro mobo, a team lite l5 ssd, and a CX corsair psu.
also the 3200g doesn't need a gpu in order to output video.
and you should definitely join the pcpartpicker discord since they can help put a list together probs better than I can.
and on top of that some extra info the 3200g and 3600 come with stock coolers and you would need to do a bios update with the third gen ryzen.
@noble oak yo toss some of that my way I need that shit
@noble oak a monitor and pc
Oh xd
Anybody’s mouse pad also do this? It like dies down at the end it’s only bright near the connector is this a faulty one?
@lone narwhal
I would Pick up an SSD
Remove 16gb of RAM and the Liquid Cooler
Make sure the RAM you're getting is 3200MHz or above
And get a better case and some case fans with the money you save.
Alternatively, i can try make a parts list with a Graphics card
if i get your budget
2700x, 2060 gaming z, 16gb 3.2ghz cl14 vengence pro rgb, mp510 480gb, b450 tomahawk, h500, cx550
That icy blue looks nice
thanks
Hmm
your name, there was a keycap set designer with a similar name
MiTo i think he was.
yeah ik
i dont like his caps tho, i would rather have the hyperX doubleshots
they are too expensive iirc
What do you mean? They are less than $20
mito caps?
hyperx
ohhh..
ft. the best position possible for a keyboard
a less neck breaking angle
i5 7500 @3.6GHz
MSI GTX 1070 8GB ITX Aero
16GB DDR4 @3200mhz (Corsair Vengence LPX Black)
ayy my pc is in the picture
huh
@waxen needle lemmee get that wallpaper
search up "Tokyo Desktop" on youtube, and i believe it is the first link in the description @tropic hollow
found the link
Nice :)
been building a new pc over the past few months, First gen ryzen 7 , not the best. but still pretty solid imo. My old pc was an i7 3820 and a 670, so this is a pretty good upgrade if you ask me.
