Yeah, Dell/HP still use some proprietary parts and stuff
so if you change something inside and it breaks, then you just fix it, instead of trying to get the company to do it for a fee
You can always buy pre-built from a company that uses off the shelf components
I've been considering doing that
true, but you still cant really do anything to it for fear of voiding warranty
You can
thats what i hate, i tried upgrading an old dell PC with some G.skill ripjaws ram and it refused to post @chilly edge
at least, as far as I know
I'm pretty sure you can change components without voiding the warranty where I'm considering to buy
wait
But you'll obviously void the warranty if the fault is from you messing up the pc
thats a thing
Yes
they will void a warrantee just bcs you upgraded?
whoa
another reason i like to build it myself
Which prebuilt is best?

Free Shipping on orders over $35. Buy SkyTech Shadow - Gaming Computer PC Desktop โ Ryzen 3 1300X 4-Core 3.5GHz, Radeon RX 580 4G, 1TB HDD, 8GB DDR4, AC WiFi, 24X DVD ROM, Windows 10 Home 64-bit at Walmart.com
the SkyTech one is better, but i wouldn't use either
I mean my budget is 600 for a prebuilt
i believe cyber power has some p good prebuild for that price point, but its been awhile since i loooked at those.
Idk. Its pretty muxh you get what ya pay for tbh.
I would pay $600 for a gfx card alone personally
Guys...my laptop is still warranty-valid even if I change the hard drives...the important thing is to not destroy the original partition which contains their customized version of windows and that you do not force to break the connectors :P
something like 10 years ago a friend of mine bought a shitty pre-built HP which in a couple of years became a "ninja-PC" and when the Hard-Drive broke it was still under warranty. So I guess it depends on how do you upgrade it and what type of damage you've done to your PC.
MSI made the new Trident-X upgrade-friendly on purpose...I think that the market is moving into more choices and less "shit".
One thing is for sure, in order to have the maximum return prebuilt are usually cheap on motherboards, RAM and PSU (which can easily bottleneck the rest of your hardware if they're really bad) so if you feel to jump into the adventure of building yourself a PC you can cheapen out on the GPU (which is the first thing everyone tends to change on a computer) and build a good combination of core components while waiting for the good graphics card (like 1080s) to go cheap on the 2nd hand market...
9H?
they look like the wireless version
It's strange...they're not 9h...they look like a limited edition of the 7h...or at least it's a model which shares some design features...
Jeeeeez
those are the Spectrum!
Wireless headset for Xbox 360!
Am I right? ๐
7xB version...the 5xB where the wired ones... ๐
damn...they look like new! Those are something like 7y.o. headphones...my 7H have lost their leather earpads ๐น
what is the meaning of this image?
they're making a mfi gun a la the nes or arcade ones
well I don't think it's usb 3 because there is no blue in there
either way, not all the wires might be soldered into the connector
i think there is a way to use the metal part around the connector as a pin
see that's what I'm thinking but then I have to cut open the wire to see
what @chilly edge said
oh
yeah that does seem logical
there are 5 wires, red for +5V, white for data+, green for data-, one black for GND and another black one for idk
no
well I found something that talked about ID wire and master and slave but didn't really understand
im pretty sure - terminal and ground are not the same thing
terminal?
oh you mean like that
yeah
yes it's that or what pachimaniac said
@dusty oar this is prolly the pin out
Have you seen One Plus 7 Pro? No water resistance, no headphone jack, no wireless charging...higher price: WTF?
@pulsar fossil has :) @dark linden
@dark linden I have one
There is water resistance
It's just not ip classified
Don't care about headphone jack or wireless charger
If you don't want a higher price, go for the OnePlus 7
Same price
The point is that the even the new ones don't have rating
I don't understand why
because it's really pricey
Left looks like the Kinzu, right looks like the Sensei
i don't think my sensei was that shiny though
kinzu nd sensei
gonna be excited to check the rival 106
kinda weird they made the hump so tall on it
asian market only
ahh
you can thank steelseries for that lmao
bought mine of Aliexpress coming to europe
๐
maybe 1-2weeks
im fine sticking to my 310 ๐
Legendary Sensei in the wild
Lennart, you must have a SteelSeries museum of products at this point
lol
siberias :p?
i only have one tho
You can daisy chain a lot of them
i wish i had some more
I think I've put at least 4 or 5 together
:D
but yea i love them stupid cheap headphones with -3foot cord

ahh
ima go play some #488669065229893633
oh
as soon as i resolve this issue
dangit
At this point I should recover my old build and my old Flux lost in the wild ๐
?
my extender thing just stoopped working on the headphones line
good thing the mic line still works
so i can use it
RAM: 6 GB
GPU: Intel family HD Graphics 4400
CPU: Intel CPU Core i5 1.7Ghz
ROM: 1 Tb
Guys can my laptop run Heroes and generals WWII? if not, what's the best game I can play ?
wut
tetris
@chilly edge
after almost 3 years of rough use
Getting the 710 really soon
And also behind that is the first Gen of Arctis 7 Black
Specs:
i7 7700
Asus Z270-F Strix
32GB G.SkillTrident Z RGB
1TB HDD
250GB SSD(adata)
Corsair CX750m
SilverStone RL05 Case
Specs soon:
Ryzen 7 2700x
Asus B450-F or X470 Strix
NZXT H700i (BlackRed)
NZXT Kraken X72
NZXT Aer RGB 140mm fans
nice
you are ditching intel i say "took you long enough"
@ebon owl am i blind or did you not list it
where is the GPU
wow
thats what i would pick with that CPU
y e s
my brothers system has some i7
he never told me
which one
all ik is that its 6th gen
pretty good system
so i think htat's either i7 6700k or 6850k or something random like that
i7 6xxx (i think it was a K sku might be wrong )
32 GB of ram dont know brand or speed
dual GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 980 Windforce 4gb cards
a 120mm aio from cooler master
EVGA SuperNOVA 1000w Watt G2 80+ GOLD Fully Modular
im pretty sure he used the roswill rise fullatx tower
that's all he told me/i was able to gather
@muted viper SKU, not Skew
im stupid
the processor is a little good, but maybe a little hot
the motherboard is good
he has a crap ton of ram, which is good
wait what am i rating?
why he got the aio
Asus Z270-F Strix
?
oh
lol
my brothers system ๐
i should have specified
you know that one ```i7 6xxx (i think it was a K sku might be wrong )
32 GB of ram dont know brand or speed
dual GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 980 Windforce 4gb cards
a 120mm aio from cooler master
EVGA SuperNOVA 1000w Watt G2 80+ GOLD Fully Modular
im pretty sure he used the roswill rise fullatx tower
that's all he told me/i was able to gather
assuming it was the most common 6th gen i7
he knows what hes doing so you can assume the guy who picked it has extensive PC building and part picking experience
(prolly built at least 100 gaming PCs in his life)
i think he says around 250 overall
he worked for BRIK computers
well he worked for kirbtech
a local company
huh
then it is probably a 6700k, which is great, if a little dated
the amount of RAM is good, intel processors don't benefit a whole lot from faster RAM
but kirbtech builds PCs under the name BRIK computers
the 980 is decent, 980s in SLI will be one hell of an fps pushing force
but probably a bit noisy and eat a bunch of power
which is why the 1000W PSU is good, but only 80+ gold is a bit disappointing to me
@chilly edge the case is the cheapest full tower atx case on PCPP
who needs 1000W
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/whgnP3 will soon have this pc, i think
that's a nice budget build
in case your wondering'
i have the CPU 2TB hdd and the PSU already
also have half the ram
ahhh
thats why i went FX
in the first place
um
whats your budget
woah
thats a decent budget man
oh
yeah thatl be ok then'
HWTA
ok
what*
i thought you meant a hdd over an ssd period ๐
its ok
man i used to be the same
now im only slightly retarded about PC's
woah
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yyKqCb @noble oak quickly thrown together with very little thought
ask @tropic hollow or @chilly edge
@noble oak Try contacting #official-support
which moitors?
they'll know best :)
Eh
you can throw out the 4TB 5.2k rpm drive
yes
๐
he/she asked for 3TB of storage
ok
well i picked a cheapo case
they are not realy expensive
the case is one of the few things that will not affect performance imo
so normaly for budget builds i pick the cheapest one that looks decent and fits my hardware
i personaly think if your spending less than 1500 on your PC you shouldnt care to much on your aesthetics
hopefully for obvious reasons like.
this
this is some of the more expensive stuff but still
sure this works but just does not have the i-paid-more-than-your-monthly-paycheck-for-this-pc look to it
lol
?
you dont need a $1000 PC to play that game ๐
you could slide with a $250 PC prolly
im sorry
i wrote that poorly
that graphics card should push those frames in most games ๐
decent anyway
im not saying its the best
just pretty good
if you want the best go with on of the 10 or 20 series cards
or the RTX TITAN
only one small problem
the price
2.5x as much as you want to spend on the PC as a whole
haha
well
its the discord i leave open when my mother enters the room
i for one like it that way
ehhh
*keep in mind im 14
whoa
yes
oof
ahh like my friend
he mows a rich guy's lawn
and other stuff
wow
see my mother wont let me work "im to young"
nice
i would recommend you get some peripherals with that PC as well
^about PC
plus the mods are cool
mouse keyboard headset
etc
i for one recommend the rival 310
i would get the apex m500
i have the m400
yes
its not great on the keycaps but the switches be ๐
steelseries
when your as much as a fan as i am you will recognize most SS products just by their #
so around here we say
"310"
rather than rival 310
or m400 rather than apex m400
"broke" as he askes for a guide for a $1000 PC
lol
oof
i have 500-600 but im about to make that close to 0 soon ๐
iv been saving for a while
ya
stops strain on the cord
when you are using it on a desk long enough the desk edge can cut the cord on your mouse a bit
plus it helps with les tangled cord on your desk
ya?
tea 100%
i like it
i just like tea
its 10PM here
so no coffee or tea for me
oh
lol
same
PA gang?
Pennsylvania*
wait
i dont know much about geography is Michigan in PA??
๐
ik that
yes
ik a lot about PC and ART
oh
i dont know much about the junk they teach ya in school
?
idk
๐
they are cool tho ๐
@muted viper forgot lmfao
Asus Strix 1060 6GB (OC'd)
Getting a Asus Strix 2080 or MATRIX 2080ti around August or November
EVGA 2080Ti FTW3...is just better that the Asus Strix. Asus graphics card are overpriced...
Here I am...
The 650 is 121g and that's fine for me :)
so...I play competitive Overwatch and the Rival series aims to eSports players...
basically that's why I chose the 600...after 7 years of OG Sensei I wanted a fresh new mouse and I was indecided between 3 mice. RJN praised the sensor of the Rival 600 and I immediately bought it...but lot of people tend to buy smaller mice and some tend to buy lighter mice...
in my journey I tried the G Pro, G Pro Wireless, G502, Zowie FK1/2
and lighter is better for endurance when playing competitive...but the shape and the sensor of the Rival are just perfect.
SteelSeries nailed it with the firmware optimizations made to the 3360 to obtain the TrueMove3
so a pure competitive version which takes the best from the FinalMouse Air58 (which is basically the mouse which inspired the Model O) would be an interesting experiment, specially if applied to the wireless one...
just to grab a solid spot into the eSports segment...honestly Logitech is getting a lot of merit for "nothing"
You could just go for the Sensei 310 if you prefer that shape
@chilly edge I hate their whole way of selling stuff...but that mouse seems really good. I honestly will try a Model O to see if lighter than the Rival 600 weight is better for me...but honestly those mice (Zowie FK1 as well) are modified copycats of the original Sensei...
seeing a Sensei and a Rival "Air" edition would be a cool experiment
@pulsar fossil I prefer the Rival 600/650 shape because I need those extra mm in height for the sake of my wrist ๐ But a lighter version would be cool...
I mean...honestly everything is perfect in the Rival 600...just a better glueing for the side grips and the removal of some weight are the only needed upgrades in that mouse
I would buy another one if they do it ๐
ah! Are there any news about the keyboards wrist rests and the pop filters for the Arctis Pro
they used to be sold...but now they seem to be out of commerce
I tried some cheap pop filters on my Arctis 3 (before buying the Arctis Pro) and they were getting weird and sticky just with the heat of my breath...
:/
while the one with my Arctis Pro is just perfect
I am already in a crisis for when will be time to change it! XD
@tropic hollow https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YL66GG i made a small modification bsc i realized ddr 3 is not gonna be the best option
I thought i'd share that my pc is pretty new, only built at the start of this year.
Specs:
-2nd hand Athlon x2 650
-2nd hand GTX 970 ,
-1tb harddrive
_idk what motherboard, but it's a Cosair
4gb of ram
Corsair motherboard? Uhh. And Athlon isn't great
@dark linden good thing about is it comes near perfect out of the box
steelseries on the other hand...
garbage mouse feet
and the cable needs to be modded also
@noble oak yea. agreed on the cable
but the side grip and feet are perfect for me. nothing bad about them
The mouse feet have been fine on my qcks
@muted viper yeah
I use a uh Raxer Basilik, cause ima loozer >:)
The only reason I'd touch a razer product
Is to harvest razer switches from a dead keyboard
Lmao ๐
The basilik just fits my hand right. As much as i wanna buy a SS mouse, it just doesnt feel right
And that's completely fine and reasonable
other than the cable and plastic mouse feet my rival 106 has been perfect
which better for gaming ?
dell s2417dg
or
asus vg258qr

pcpp or manufacturer website links ?? @proven kiln
https://www.asus.com/Monitors/VG258QR/
@muted viper
ASUS VG258QR is a 24.5โ FullHD best freesync gaming monitor with 0.5ms response time and 144Hz refresh rate to give you super-smooth gameplay.
well, dell got 1440p and ips and 2016 product, but in the other side asus got 165hz with 0.5ms responses time ๐ค
honestly, it just depends what resolution you want to play at I think
is 165hz is a big difference from 144hz
1080p is ok but 1440p is a + for that
and by product quality, is asus better than dell ?
@noble oak the feet on the 600 are different...and are not garbage. The cable on the 600 is modular and soft rubberized...so it doesn't stick on the mousepad while being flexible.
Honestly is not garbage at all...
even the grips are fine on my mice (until now) and the Sensei I owned before is still the benchmark for many mice on the market...
The Model O has the paracord which pops off the mouse and feet which have been criticized by every reviewer...plus sticky left clicks after 5 days of usage...
And you can find easily the literature online...and this is because when you mass produce something not everything comes perfect
Logitech G Pro Wireless? Broken clicks and horizontal flex.
Razer Mamba? Weird lift off behaviour and horrible drivers.
FinalMouse? Lots of broken left clicks
and we can go on all day...
@dark linden my bad then i havent heard the feet being bad because i honestly didnt watch that many reviews on it
but on my rival 100 rival 300s and rival 106 ive had to replace the feet everytime so i just assumed they're bad on every mice ss has
have you tried teflon mousefeet though?
@noble oak yes I did, when I almost destroyed the feet in my Sensei i replaced them with teflon ones for the last two years of its life. The Rival 600 has perfect feet for the QCK+ that I currently use, never a block and never a stitch. If teflon is better doesn't mean that the actual ones are garbage, are just perfectly fine for SS mouse surfaces. They're a company and they tend to make you buy only official accessories/parts when possible because is the main interest of the business. There's nothing wrong with that.
Also teflon needs to be smoothened before becoming usable, my 600 was fine just out of the box.

@chilly edge yeah ill prolly visit a store and buy like 7k grit sandpaper or something
ooooo
nice?
oh
i thought you had messed it up
well i swear if steelseries makes me sand my mouse to get a matte mouse then im leaving
ye it has a good texture
so isa that the 103
rival 106
oh
im confused
heres the original glossy finish
Anyone know a good keyboard (preferably mechanical and spill resistant) that is a good alternative for the Apex M750?
how much again?
I mean 120$ like the Apex M750 is my range
Could I get a link to the website?
yep
that'd probably have to be a tiny battery
Yeah probs
What is the best setting equalizer for r6 i have the artics 5
better picture of my CPU
lol
when i unbox it ill drop some kind of macro shot prolly
of the actual cpu
Should I get a โrenewedโ keyboard on amazon? It is WAAAY cheaper than getting it new.
if it has good warranty then yeah
what's that case?
@noble oak it has amazon warranty
does anyone here uses the stream mix of the GameDAC?
@chilly edge itโs a corsair 570x
iโve had to return the h115i cooler tho and buy a h150 because the 280mm isnโt compatible
Yo can anyone send a closeup pic of the steelseries qck mousepad?, I just want to see itโs texture to see if mineโs original.
@boreal willow wym original
Original mousepad, like the ones steelseries produces, cause I got mine from a reseller.
I don't think anyone has the audacity to make a fake mousepad
it's not like the QcK series is outrageously expensive and would warrant the production of a cheaper one
Any thoughts on that build?
I'm super tempted :D
Where you at @chilly edge? :P
Not sure about the pricing because i don't speak Krona, but those are good specs.
The GPU is beefy, the motherboard is fine
Anything you'd change?
uhh personally i think i'd end up going for a Gigabyte or AsRock motherboard as just pure preference
and probably with a Dark Rock Pro 4 or something
although i'm not sure how well it'd cool the 9900k
Thanks
@pulsar fossil you sure you canโt just buy parts and build a pc?, itโll save you some money
ye and that new amd stuff coming in soon
Also, no need to buy another 16gigs of ram, 16gigs in total is more than enough.
The PC won't just be used for gaming, I'll also be using it for heavy video editing, streaming and other stuff @boreal willow
So 32GB makes sense for me :)
But yeah, I could build it myself
That's also a possibility
then i think the new upcoming amd cpus would fit you more imo
Yeah, just build it yourself tbh.
Or the new 9900KS or whatever it's called
Amdโs new cpus are coming out
KS will be hella expensive
Well it's Intel, so it's obviously expensive
Hi my name is Dashie and I have a problem
I got to up my game and get a 5th mouse
it's a Limited Edition Rival310 off the SteelSeries website
thoguh i think you can get it off amazon
d:
@winged parrot it is pretty awesome. We have the howl mouse pad as well :)
Oo noice
why is the cable like that
i fixed the cable duh?
oh
ok
rate the setup (shitty image)
Headset: arctis 5
Keyboard: apex m750
Mice: logitech g502 and rival 600
Mousepad: prism cloth XL
Speakers: logitech z213 with sub
That's quite the setup!
^ right now
usually use the m750 but for now switched out for another
excuse all the crap on my desk
@tropic hollow I have a question, its about the arctis + gamedac
@naive dune Might wanna ask it in #๐ฌ-general or for a quick response hit up #official-support !!
oh
general will be community input :)
Yesterday I got this new gear for gaming, #Apex_M750_TKL_PUBG, #RIVAL_710 and #QCK_PRISM_CLOTH_XL. My gaming experience has totally changed with this. Love this products. ๐

Sorry for the darkness hehehe
without the dark we wouldn't be able to see the sexy rgb
@quick roost grats with all the new gear ๐ ๐
Thanks @humble rampart I just started last night to play #Call_of_Duty_WWII and now I can aim so smooth and the coolest thing is the RGB patrons hahaha. I don't know if I can upload a video here so you can see the RGB
why is that 200$ ._.
@muted viper those are the new keyboard lineup from SteelSeries
@noble oak analog/magnetic key switches with adjustable actuation point...basically the first in the world (if we do not consider the FlareTech from Wooting which are optical).
They're made in collaboration with Gateron which already made some analog/optical switches back in 2017
@humble rampart will it be possible to setup multiple keystrokes like on the Wooting keyboards? There are any plans for releasing a firmware to do it or is something not even discussed at the moment?
P.s. release date? ๐
can you give me an example of what you mean by multiple keystrokes?
isn't that just a macro?
@dark linden
and for release I believe we're looking at the week of june 17 in terms of availability on steelseries.com. Just be sure to sign up for that notify me and you'll be the first to know
can*t take pre-orders unfortunately
basically you can set from the firmware multiple actuation points at the same time and trigger different actions with the same key
so if i press down to 0.6mm i do something, if I press more i give another input
well, it's something doable with analog technology, even if it's not available now could always be an idea for the future! Or for simulating analog sticks in games like Rocket League which benefit of full analog input (even if honestly there's always a controller for that ๐ )
Thanks!
June 17?! Sheep...I have to wait the end of July in order to get one, the reviews will kill me in Hype! ๐น
๐
i'll get back to you reg. programming keystrokes at different actuation points
waiting for engineers to wake up in chicago
@noble oak $200 is too much for you?
can't wait until you see some of the custom stuff
no im just curious
cus mine cost 40โฌ @chilly edge
Custom keyboards can easily clear $600
@dark linden Those Keyboards looks great, but unfortunately I already spend a lot of money on the kit, a little bit late for me hahahaha, maybe in the future, but they look great. i wish to have enough money for buying both hahahha
av @dark linden
What's happening with my avatar? ๐
@quick roost "unfortunately" I work and my wage is good enough to make me burn money on my setup really often...but I completely feel you, I'm sure that there will be something cool and flashy when you'll be ready to buy again! ๐
@noble oak I know a guy which hand-build keyboards for 1500$ each...he basically wants you to send him the components, how do you want the switch to be modded and he makes the magic and the ships the keyboard back to you. Honestly, if there's the build quality and the perk I am keen to spend 200$ on a piece of kit...but I also understand who can't. The good thing is that there are ~13 keyboards in the SteelSeries lineup, from 59$ up to 200$...so if you like the design and the brand, you can buy one fitting your budget. ๐
@dark linden hahahaha. It's NUTSSSSSSSS wow I can't spend $1500 in a keyboard, at least it should bring me the dinner to my room hahahahahaha. But it's great what that guy does. Anyhow, I think that $150 should be good for a keyboard, as people said "You get what you paid for"
And from 70-300 there's a bunch of customs from China, or just prebuilts
Yeah...honestly I bought my Apex M750 from Curry's PC World here in UK...was on sale for ยฃ99
@dark linden I know that you must have a nice work, I'm glad for you, but here is the thing. I'm a computer Engineer and musician, so, I should be earning a lot of money because also I work with cloud computing systems, that is good payed but the problem is that I live in Cuba so I should be wining like $4000 at least per month, but what I'm wining actually is like $40 every month, hahahahah IT'S NUUUTSSSSSS
but now I think I won't wait for a discount for the Apex Pro...too much hype... ๐
here is something funny, my gears cost me with the #SteelSeries discount of 10% $260, I had to save the money for 8 months to get them hahahaha
Jeez...and I thought I needed to go away from Italy because the pay was unfair...
well...actually compared to UK and some other countries is really unfair... ๐
I am an app developer btw
and I hope to move back to 3D engines and better stuff
of course it is, but i can't do anything to improve it hahaha, my only escape is to mount a private network at home with my personal servers and start to deploy services to the people, and for gaming to Set up the servers for, Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc that I have, YES I don't have to pay for them hahahahaha, here that is not a problem hhaha
lol
but hey we spend a lot of time playing jaja
@dark linden The good thing is that there are ~13 keyboards in the SteelSeries lineup, from 59$ up to 200$ they replaced the 50USD mechanical one with a 30USD membrane one then drove up the price to 50USD (or so) ๐ฆ
wich realy annoys me
@dark linden you are an app developer?? i must have been wrong about your age then ๐
Do you think I am 15? Not all of the fanboys are under 30... ๐
@muted viper yeah...the Apex 500 with CherryMX was a good value for the money and that sort of hybrid switches doesn't seem to be a big deal for 59$...but I think you pay the R&D and the marketing which obviously tries to give more value to the mechanical models...
no im talking about the m400 @dark linden
it was 50USD and had some knok off cherry mx switches
also 15 was my estimate ๐
check the dials, on the right
maybe you can find something similar to the thing
@dawn fern
and krunker.io
@dark linden heard back from engineers reg. programming keystrokes at different actuation points. We wonโt support it at launch, however thereโs a likelihood of that being enabled later via an update
@humble rampart those are the words I was looking for!
@muted viper I look younger....but unfortunately I'll turn 30 next October...
lol
I posted the sizes...
I just call is mouse width...as it's called on the website ๐น
back in 98 we used more barebone terms
๐
honestly...I've never called it grip-width, even if the name makes sense...now I know something new ๐
lol nice
Guess what arrive earlier than expected?!?!
@naive dune Noice! congrats bro
thanks!
lmao im having trouble putting on the stand
the things that raise the keyboard a little more
ok i got them on!
Wow such a light actuation
xD
@rich obsidian @tropic hollow what do you think?
???
looks good!
Wdym the ones on the bottom
OH
those are hard to get on
yeah i got them on lol
nice mouse :D
yee
i believe @wispy halo has the same fan on the bottom of the laptop
i have a full steelseries setup
noicce
@naive dune The little ixons below tell you what they do
@naive dune welcome to the club! ๐
@naive dune I see what you did with the tissue there ๐
well hold on just a second,
I saw^ very good video. The keyboard looks amazing. Sadly my Apex M750 is too new to just replace
my apex JUST arrived today lol
oh nice those switches are made with partnership with gaterons
https://www.blurbusters.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/2000hz-mice-needed-690x600.png
cant post in #๐ฌ-general so here it goes
what..
Pretty sure 1000Hz is a Physical limitation
And anything above it is software heebie jeebie
some mice have been ocd to 2000hz but dont remember which ones and if it even works
it was asus something at least
Asus rog gladius
2000Hz software stuff can negatively affect the performance, I think
2000Hz software stuff can negatively affect the performance, I think
I want to make 2 considerations:
- 2000Hz polling benefit is negligible to the human eye while playing, we are going in the sub-1ms latency and the typical 240Hz monitor still adds more latency to the chain and suffers of more important strutters caused by the rendering itself (like non optimal frame-time which still happens even with older and competitive games)
- If the sensor does not support natively the 2000Hz frequency, simply OC-ing the sensor will cause many more issues to the rest of the firmware and to the reliability of the sensor itself (like interferences caused by electrical noise and overheating)
So at the time being, until there's some proper hw-tested support is pretty gimmicky because the cons are much more higher than the pros...
That's what I think...I also think that if some sensor would reliably work at that polling rate most of the major gaming-focused company would already pulled a ยฃ169 mouse out there featuring that sensor...
Bad piece of modern art.
Omg send me that
You know it just hit me, I don't think I've linked up my build here. My monitors are mounted on a VIVO mount, which I don't have linked here, but this is what I'm rocking now (I don't have my SteelSeries mouse pad here because that seems silly, but NATURALLY I would have that too) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/startrekkie1701/saved/VjWFt6
Nice build :)
Thanks. Obviously SteelSeries is the biggest part of it

The parts list is private, so we can't see it
@tropic hollow that build hurts...and badly...๐ญ
This is my build https://pcpartpicker.com/user/IcedWolf/saved/#view=sFYdmG and i have the Anne Pro II
as my keyboard
@winged parrot yeah but i was doing art homework at the time. when iโm playing i usually move my keyboard further to the right
and i bring it a lot closer to me
Any ideas? Or does my laptop need to go in the bin๐
Have you tried resetting the screen with a hammer?
try re-establishing the magnet inside the laptop with a metal hammer

that video is a good tutorial ^^
that without the space
i dunno if i'll get striked for that link
better not see
I'll have a look into it, thanks for the help๐ ๐
woooooooosh
@bright delta how much is the graphics card hot?
Stupid question...is the standalone GAME DAC the same which ships with the Arctis Pro? Is the only difference the 3.5mm adapter that now is sold as accessory on the store?
Same exact Game Dac yes :)
@dark linden probably alot
It's 7 years old now and apart from a HD upgrade 2 years ago, some extra ram and a dust, I've not touched it really
Probably need to take it apart and reapply the thermal paste
@bright delta yeah...usually you get those artifacts either from a bad driver or a voltage issue on the GPU Core.
If the voltage is too high the GPU doesn`t work well (overclock/voltage curve changed from the user/thermal protection removed from the driver/wrong driver installed)...or it might be that the voltage is right but becomes too high to sustain because the thermal compound on the GPU is literally gone, so you rich too much high temperatures.
@humble rampart thanks! ๐
@dark linden I've also probably dropped it a few times over the years too so that won't help ๐
probably one of the ways of checking if shit is dead by just flexing the parts around (violently shaking the laptop aint exactly it, but just tilting it and moving it and seeing if the picture changes) it could also be a loose/damaged ribbon cable.
Introducing the most configurable, expandable Mac ever and the worldโs best pro display. Mac Pro has a Xeon processor with up to 28 cores, numerous expansion...
Damn, that's a lot of power
gee thats nice
you know what
A whole grand for a stand?
its worth it
reminds me of...
how much is this thing 10,000USD?
uhhh reminds me of... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7epu4oEQVR4
To those who say this Silverstone 1500W power supply can't handle the load, I say "feh!"
GPU be like ...
oh also it had to be an Intel CPU
and i'm not sure about the lack of fans on the GPUs and stuff
its gonna be a meme, if they have a custom ASIC card, it must be like near RED HW accelerator price
yeah i bet they have some special agreement with shintel
@noble oak doubt, cuz they include a vega card in it, but thats my observation
custom mobo, custom ASIC, 4 way crossfire and a beefy air cooler.
easily 20k
Scratchpaper maths be hard here now :
My estimate would be : mobo around 450 to 400, asic around 1k per piece or 3.5k, 4 way crossfire (each costing around... 350 per pop, so 1.2 to 1.7k) and a cooler that would be around 100 or up to 150 dollarydoos.
Round up : 450(mobo) + 2500(ASIC) + 1700(GPU) +150(cooler) = 4.8k, w/o apple tax. (w/ apple tax, it would be 5.2k to break it even, in a case of total failure)
(forgot ram, it would be around 3480 euros for the 768 gb of ram, OR full 6.9(6960)k for 1.5tb ECC ram setup)
PSU costs retail around 450 euros, so 50 euro markup would be generous from apple, so...
Real price of components would be around 7.5~8k or the low low price of 8k if apple is generous, OR 9k and make it even, 8k footage, 9k price tag.
i counted in the ram and the psu.
max amount or half of it, (did the math for both) and its lookin like a mad cash grab
The 6000$ base model has no ASIC...
and the base GPU is a Radeon Pro 580X (Polaris 2)
256GB SSD and 32GB RAM complete the shit ๐
and honestly a Threadripper maybe does better than that Intel WX chip
doubt, cuz if you lookin for single threaded applications, then intel is the way to go.
who wants a 8~9k HEDT from Apple?
Introducing the most configurable, expandable Mac ever and the worldโs best pro display. Mac Pro has a Xeon processor with up to 28 cores, numerous expansion...
@tropic hollow i did the scratch paper math above, worth lookin into
semi, ram is struggling atm
1500w psu hahahhaa
lul i wanna see the math for max spec
they want the 480 memes to come back
looll
more
you mean the 192gb ram?
did i miss something and not see the 1tb ram?
1.5 tb of ram
lemme see.
there are only 6 channels right?
like 6 slots or is it 12 slot mobo?
no no
i dont think
12k full setup (12210) looking from the bare metal parts
i didnt add the cpu
ah
even more calculations :D
8.7k w/o cpu, getting 6 DIMM slots covered with 128gb ECC ram (bare metal parts)
3k for the... W-3175X (retail price)
I would much rather get a custom Threadripper PC
15k for the fully decked out apple setup -> W-3175X, 1.5tb ram, no storage, 4x crossfire amd VII's, 1500w psu, cooler
thats just the bare metal parts.
i highly doubt that someone would actually want it fully decked out
@chilly edge if you would do a similar setup, you would save up to 1.5k, combined
its a truly extreme setup, but... its stupid powerful
20k or 20 some odd buckaros for an apple desktop (if they double down on it)
what was that announced on
i need a pc ๐ฆ
oh
5year warranty doe hmm
@noble oak has been warned
reason: Posted an invite
Payin a good $500 USD on that samsung 2tb m.2 i would think
Do it by yourself! ๐
me
ohhh
no
im timmy
@noble oak
i just realy like SirKaiwade#1714
one of the moderators*
it was a joke thjought up in the csgo chat
lols
yes
there was some confusion with UPS but the GPU MOBO and ram should arrive either today or tomorrow
then i will build the PC ๐
i have the CPU PSU SSD case etc
yes it is sorta
r5 1600 radeon rx 580 8GB 16GB ddr4 3000Mhz ๐
It's been fine with me
this is the kit i got
should be good to go
pretty good steal
oh rip
i think
wait
@noble oak i thought you had a pretty good system?
must be confusing you with someone else
ok yep ๐
not the best pic but
finally got the money to build a new build a bit ago, but finally upgraded from.stock cooler and.stock.fan
Guess how much did i pay for it
500
Nice guess @noble oak but it 100 euro cheaper
It gonna be like 1000 in a year becuz imma improve that thing
Its gonna be awesome year to upgrade too!

many stressful hours later the PC turns on and none of the error lights turn on tomorrow i test if it posts
All i'll say
is try and make sure that the power supply cables are properly plugged in
because when my PC wouldn't post, it was always because of loose cables
it posted @chilly edge
now the only problem is i accidentally booted to freenass on my hdd
and it reformatted the ssd to a format windows installer doesn't like
ayy
i finaly feel a bit better about my pc @hasty nebula , no offence
but sadly
i dont have a window so cable management only afects airflow in my case ๐ฆ
yeah that case doesn't have any cable management stuff in it so it looks a bit of a mess
personally I don't mind that much
yeah
mine did have cable management stuff but i almost broke the 120 usd mobo i put in in trying to cable manage (i finished building it this morning)
@hasty nebula
yo guys i was thinking about overclocking my gpu which is an asus rog strix 2080ti oc, do any of u know around how high people overclock it too
first time overclocking a gpu
ah okay i see
thanks
so i guess i just slowly increase the clock speed bit by bit and when theres like lag or benchmark crashes then ik ive gone too high
Nice. Congrats
thank you
ahh yes the feeling of joy
it has arrived
@muted viper why dont you just activate?
@pulsar fossil does it cost money?
^
@pulsar fossil @tropic hollow i dont have the money and im not buying grey market keys
honestly its not worth the hassle
its a watermark and a few personalization things. i could care less as could a lot of people
yep
I bought a Windows key off of EBay for I think $5? I was pretty sure I got ripped off, as soon as the money left my account, he changed it to "No more left". And didnt respond for about 3 days. Then he randomly emailed me a key, and it worked ๐
