I think i'm going from an a8 7650k to a Ryzen 3 2200G
i was considering using this rx 480 with my new build until i buy the 1080
but then the graphics would just be crap still
@chilly edge not the 2400G?
would you guys say it is viable to get money back on that h270 board to get a Gigabyte - GA-Z270-Gaming K3 board
since unlocked cpu
*if i can
@dreamy spoke I need a budget cpu, already got a graphics card
pachi what card is it
gtx 1060 3gb
I cant buy a new one to replace my 1060 3gb
not enough money, besides, negligible difference
im seeing if i can get a refund rn
to maybe get that z270 board
but idk
like i dont want to oc that badly
worth it?
Well, you might get a sizable performance gain
it's not, too hard. I don't think.
You just go into bios, up CPU core ratio and voltage a bit
actually im not since it has 3.9ghz turbo clock anyway
@radiant fable yeah dude the 9700k is better than you'd first expect. Anways, all of the ones we both listed are probably gonna crush anything you need it to unless you max out everything on a super demanding game at 1440p or 4k or widescreen and u try to get high fps
so unless you're doing all of those things, then all of those processors will exceed your needs most likely, so you will not only be happy, but also pretty future proof
but 9700k does have really good clock speeds so I'm sure you can get like 1k fps in csgo if you are into that type of thing
@chilly edge you'd be better off getting just a CPU then. Maybe even a Ryzen 5 for the cost of a 2200G.
what would I buy though?
Can get a Ryzen 5 1600 or better still a 2600
Would give you a way stronger CPU than the 2200/2400G
That would be my advice.
depends on my budget, CPU will probably be my last purchase
What's your budget @chilly edge
I uhh, don't know
I bought a motherboard, I have like £105 rn
i'll need to buy a new case
Well that should be plenty for a new case, the one I bought costed me like 150
When you buy a case and your GPU doesn’t even fit. Farewell!
@open galleon just how long is you gpu
Just return the case idk
what full tower cases with tempered glass would you guys reccomend?
i would just say
dont get anything too expensive
because theres no point spending a lot on your case
especially if ur on a budget
Nzxt have the s340 elite and h500
Phanteks have stuff like the p300 and p400
And there's stuff from Corsair, Lian Lian li and stuff like that
Browse around, watch reviews
fractal design r6 is cool imo
thanks
i have like a 4,000 budget. I want to water cool the whole thing hence the tempered glass
I think fractal design S2 is good for that
isnt that a mid?
or is there a full tower version i am unaware of?
im kinda looking along those lines
any ideas?
if you have a 4,000 budget
it doesnt rly matter
just go for what looks nice but doesnt cost over like 150
so you can spend more on the things that actually matter the most
@woeful hedge how do you like the select mini? had any issues with it?
and what PC case is that?
it's been perfect so far, only issue is i cant fit the spool in next to it
and the case is the NZXT - S340
cool thanks. yea i saw the spool of blue filament and thought this guy must have a 3-d printer
i have the same one, except black
i had alot of issues with it at first, got a replacement, issues with that, then the second replacement has worked fine ever since
nice, that seems to be the case for most people
i'm assuming you have the arctis pro wireless as well?
would you recommend it? any regrets?
Guys what do you recommend
A rog strix 1070ti or msi armor 1080
They are the same price
armor has bad cooling AFAIK
1070ti is close to 1080 when OCed, but you can still OC 1080 better 😄
Just say 1070ti or 1080
get a better 1080
I dont like the armor too
the motherboard has arrived https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/512728920383029260/515197161793781801/IMG_20181122_160555786.jpg
Anyone know where I can get a ryzen 7 2700x? Amazon/Newegg are selling them wayyy too high (considering Amazon just had them for $280 and now they are $320)
Please @ me!!!!! Much appreciated ❤
Yeah, a lotta people have it marked up a lot for??? Idk, but primarily I ONLY need the cpu, not the fan with it @ashen marsh
Ohh
Im upset they took the sale off :(
Micro center is sellin it for 250, but idk? It doesnt have a spot to add to cart
because microcenter is in store only
Well some things you can buy on their site and some you cant??? @stable talon
Its fine tho, Best Buy has black Friday goin rn and they got it on sale cheaper than anywhere else, along with the Samsung 970 Evo, so im all good! Thanks for the help all <3
@fiery monolith just tell them to match price
Do they do that? Cause I thought a lotta places stopped cause of uhhh the PS4 scandal on ebay? @whole carbon (fake ebay post about a $10 PS4 and Walmart was forced to price matching]
i think for microcenter they only match price for credible website like newegg, steelseries, amazon etc
Gotcha, well I when I look at the site, it doesnt have a "add to cart" button like all the other products @whole carbon
rip i have a microcenter like 45 min away
dudeeee I would love to go to one
Boutta take a shank to my bank account 😦 This is everything I want minus the Ryzen 7 2700x
(I already own a 1080TI so its fine sjsjsjsjjsj)
Nice bro!
What specs
I7 9700k
1080
16GB 3200
500GB M.2 ssd
2tb hdd
Asus rog strix z390 f
Corsair h100i pro
Oof nice rig bro 👍🏻
Ty
thats not a lot of money
@pulsar fossil do you have the whitenoise on the arctis pro wireless aswell?
do you have 4 DIMM slots?
almost everyone has 4 dimm slots except if your budget isnt 400
yeah ik but you never know
Well I missed both the deals
My pc!
@radiant fable if I were u I would've got the EK Fluid Gaming A240 instead of the h100i but that's a nice build.
Steel Series... I am very impressed with your QCK Medium mousepad. Feels like its built to last. Looks nice, feels VERYYY SMOOTH. And above all others. Has your logo on it 😍

No but there is something better. Just download the ISO and then install it but when it asks for a key you can do the option that's like "skip" or "I don't have a key" and then the only downside is a small watermark in the bottom right and it's barely noticeable for most applications and games and also that customization is a little more difficult because you can't right click on a picture and make it wallpaper that way or something, but it's free, so you kinda save $100 and lose almost nothing, and it is legal too...
yeah this works
@radiant fable what CPU is that? i7-9700k? 8700k? and what size rad is that in the AIO?
@radiant fable nice I can't wait to have mine all set
Have it all of it except the case kms(I have a 650W PSU in my current PC)
(Ryzen 7 2700x)
nice
my build was pretty good with alot of upgrade potential but then my mom boonked it 🤷 😢
how so?
Your case should be preety big for that 3 fan radiator
1 tb ssd do you even have a hard disk
@radiant fable Yeah I got a pretty big case. +I have a HDD in my current PC with the 1080ti in it right now. and tbh, i hardly even use anything close to 1tb. But i will still throw it into my PC just for extra/mass storage
Lol mass storage I only have like 3 big games
I mean, i dont really NEED to put my hdd into my new pc. I have only used 500gb in total on it(windows, games, pictures, etc.) And havent ran into any issues with needing more space. So im p confident that i will be fine
Lag or load times?
Both it seems
In bo4 and ww2 it’s def load times though. Guess who always gets a vehicle in ww2. (Me)
I have to admit, i'd be more inclined to go for AMD
o o f
@tropic hollow whered you get that list?
Get a Professionally Custom Built Gaming PC Fast! Guaranteed FPS or your Money Back. Ships in 48-Hours with Full Warranty. Backed by NZXT
thanks
np
pcpartpicker is cool...just used BLD bc it's NZXT and I like their cases :D
Ahhh
I only have cases from some small brand
one of them is like an office pc case, then another one overdoes the gamer aspect
Not to me
damn prebuilts
NZXT is the shit bro, I use the h440i hyperbeast
i'll probably end up with the Phanteks p300/p350X
Nice! Phanteks makes some nice cases as well
Check P400 too - they are nice
I'm choosing between them and FD Define C/Meshify
@pine copper i prefer the look of the p300 to the p400
I got my gpu ^^
Nice!
does anyone know where i can buy a replacement for exactly this? ss support cant give me any info
pls help
Oh. Maybe Newegg or eBay? I have never had this issue so I don’t really know. Sorry.
I mean old sensei mice are hard enough to find, so I doubt anyone is selling just the cover
Hope you find one though 🤞🏼
Picture stolen from the internet, but this is what my oldest ss mouse is
It’s in a box somewhere
I’ve been hooked ever since!😄
😦
just plug it in 4head
whatcha mean "4head"
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO Nice!
I wouldn't mind having that GPU for my next build
Or two of them
drool
Or what about a PC with a built-in coffee machine
(yes the PC part still works)
That's awesome
Damn
@vagrant estuary my struggle
That sucks
not as hardcore? 😉
Asus PG279Q or Asus PG258Q for csgo and overwatch comp
@cyan hedge do u have slightly acidic sweat geez dude wtf get a new mouse
@cyan hedge tbh it looks kinda cool
backlight looks like a sunset and without reading the caption i thought it was intentional :D
looks like countries xD
@cyan hedge just peel all the black coating off 😄
and maybe paint the dots on logo with other color to ensure they will be seen after
Or buy a new cover somewhere
unfortunately there are no silver that you can buy anywhere on the internet anymore
fsr
id love myself some new cover
@hushed spindle do have a 700 here but don't like it >.<
@cyan hedge rip... can u return it or is it too late? Also what's bad about the 700 is it too heavy?
Please do
just to bulky, doesn't feel as nice as the sensei pro, an prob to late, this is already a replacement for the first time it happened 😕
Wut do u guys think of the 650?
Really good for a wireless, fast charge (not what they say it is, but close) and good accuracy
that must be like 20 keyboards and a backpack
Lol
hahahaha
lol, that's a lot of SS stuff for a single person 😄
An LGA-1151 socket motherboard, with support for Coffee Lake CPU's. Look for these chipsets: H310, B360, H370, Q370, Z370, Z390 @tiny saffron
@humble panther thanks for support Andres, u know what the difference between each other? Dont talk about the Factory building like ASUS,MSI,GYGABYTE ecc. but the real difference between Z390 vs H310 eccecc, is like in performance changes or mhm dunno
Thanks guys
Z370 allows overclocking on CL refresh too, doesn't it?
Maybe, but z390 is optimised
@humble panther wtf are you trolling he needs a z390 motherboard his cpu is unlocked
I dont think you can use your 9600k on a z370
Im with a 9700k and a z390
@radiant fable are you saying you cant use a 9600k on a z370?
because i am pretty sure you can, unless im mistaken
Idk
though I don't think z370 is optimised for the 9000series SKUs
Its trolling to reccomend him like H370, Q370, B360 etc. When he has an unlocked processor
^^
lol
whatever you do dont buy an i9
they arent worth it imo
the i7 6700k unlocked is just as good and like 1000$ cheaper
the i9 is great with my rtx 2080ti though
💪
My pc specs:
Gigabyte X399
Threadripper 2990WS
MSI RTX 2080 TI
NVIDIA Quadro P6000
128gb HyperX DDR4 2666MHz
Corsair Hydro H115i (Will be doing custom water cooling soon)
OS Running off a 500 gb m.2 drive, and 2 extra 12tb hdds and 1 1tb ssd
oh and the case is a cooler master c700p
Bruh what do you even do on your PC? Video edit/renders? @red pulsar
occasional gaming but mainly 3d animation and stuff
Gotcha
which is why i have the rtx
is it your occupation?
wtf. You got $6000 in just graphics cards it looks like
Do you mind sharing some of your works for us to see?
yeah, its an amazing card
not right now since they are all in insanely huge avi files
like hundreds of gigabytes
Gotcha, well if you have the chance to show a screenshot or two, I would love to see them ❤
will do 😉
is this overboard?
not at all
@red pulsar for a second i thought you had a 11tb SSD
xD
@fair lintel just make sure you have a wirelesss adapter if you are planning on using wifi instead of ethernet!!
You cant do wireless internet with whats in that picture, youre gonna have to use an ethernet cable(idk youre situation if thats possible or not but i know that I cant use one cause im a lil far from the router)
@radiant fable ^
So ethernet is with the cable ?
Yeah, usually it connect from the router, to the motherboard(back of the PC)
I know where to connect the cable ?XD
oh lmao, you asked if ethernet was with the cable. It just sounded like you were clueless of how it works, I apologize!!
This is what a wireless adapter would look like. The antennas would hang out of the back of the case
if this is true that's amazing 😄
a decade of 4c/8t 😂
🤣
i'm looking into building a server
would it be worth spending the extra to go only ssds or should i just get a load of 12tb hard drives?
i need like 100tb at least
or maybe make that 50tb
fast storage would be useful because ill only be storing massive avi files on it, but i can deal with hdds, like 12tb hdds are super cheap compared to smaller ssds
I would go with the hdds
yeah, it would probably end up getting me over 10k if i went with ssds
okay yeah wayyy over 10k
yeah, ill just get hdds, Now all i need to do is figure out where i get a case that will fit this many drives and where im gonna put the server
Good luck man!
I think it’s worth it. A 1070 is worth around 250$ on its own so idk
isnt a 1070 like $370
i'm looking for a z390 mobo. any suggestions?
Hardware Unboxed did quite a few reviews on z390 motherboards
The nzxt one is nice
Ty
@open galleon I think it is a good deal you have there, my only problem would be the case bc in my eyes its kind of ugly lol. but the stuff in the PC is totally worth the 620
Who or what is that
@noble oak I should ban you for saying that
@radiant fable Bayern is bad 24/7...can't win against any good teams
Liverpool is the best no negotiation
case in point
lets move to #💬-general
Hey, does anyone know if I should get another stick of ram?
Currently I have 2x4gb and 1x8gb = 16gb
I'm thinking of getting another 8gb or 4gb stick. Since I use After Effects all the time and Photoshop.
Anyone here support that? or is my 16gb enough?
For photo editing, personally your CPU and RAM are your 2 biggest things for photoshop and video editing. If possible, I would get as many 16gb cards as possible. If money is tight, just get the single 8gb. (Just make sure that your motherboard can support mass amounts of ram. like 128GB's of ram)
@bitter mist ^
I have an i5 6600k and 16gb like I said before, I don't think I'm willing to spend $350 ish for 128gbs. I'm not doing any extreme editing my motherboard only supports up to 64gbs anyways.
But I'll be looking to get that extra 8gb stick! Thank you
<3
WOOP! Nice setup
too much colour, HDR on my phone didn't want to co-operate 😄
@bitter mist if your motherboard is dual channel you will need to get 2 sticks
look at the ram slots in your pc and see if they are different colours
also make sure the new sticks are faster or the same speed as your current ram because the slowest ram sets the speed for the other sticks
so if you had 1600mhz ram already and you bought 1333mhz, all the ram would run at 1333mhz
:D
@red pulsar i was actually wondering about that. the RAM speed. thanks lol
id recommend getting the same brand too
Same model if you can
Same type, Same Speed, Same Brand, Same Model & Same Size
and 2 of them
you will only get dual channel if the sizes match iirc
or half of it will run in single channel
@celest schooner whenever you get it all set up, just make sure that you check BIOS to see what speed they are at. Because usually it will default them at a slower speed than what they are supposed to be. EX. I bought 2 sticks of 3000MHz ddr4 8gb RAM. When i first used them, they started at 2666MHz, until I changed it myself in bios :(
@fiery monolith thanks man for the tip. i havent actually bought new ram, nor was i really planning to. Just was wondering, and someone had by chance just asked the question
Np,tbh most PC's will start the ram at a lower speed than what they can do. So if you have never checked. Doesnt hurt to! :) @celest schooner
cool thanks
<3
when you all show you super cool and expensive setups while i game on i5 3570 and gt 1030 xD
gt1030
I still havent showed off my new pc. I got it all built about 2 weeks ago. Ik @chilly edge helped me pick out parts! Works great and looks uhhh drool worthy
my biggest dilemma is with the CPU cooler
The h150i pro?
Ive heard that its kinda :/ when you overclock. Not enough to remove the heat(gimme a sec and i will send a PC BUILD pic
Of mine)
I mean I need something that looks nice
White/black
I've found some options
and I'm also looking at sleeved extension cables
Thats what I mean, sleeved extension. But rn i dont have a full modular PSU. So im savin for that right now
Yeah
I'm debating to see what I can do
because I might be able to sell my old hardware to get some money
which could buy a new PSU
I need to sell my old hardware 😂😂😂😂
The corair and geforce gtx 1080ti are white, the picture just showed them pink :(
this is what i'm looking at
Might get a new PSU with money from old hardware if possible
How many watts is your old PSU?
650W should handle that build just fine
Hecc, even maybe a 500W
500but it's an actual nightmare the cables are so annoying and its non modular and I could do with a PSU from a more reliable brand
Plus a full modular PSU can come with a nice bag for cables which I could repurpose
This guy
Its a 750 watt powersupply but its actually smaller in size than most others(more room for cables
Yeah and it's normally at a lower price than some others
Ye that also. Personally I have a 650W with my Ryzen 7 2700X and 1080TI and am looking for an upgrade. I'm reallllllly looking into that EVGA one, only because its a smaller size(More room for me to shove cables into the back) 😃
Future proofing
Plus higher efficiency
And cables that don't look like a 4year olds doodles
750w will last anyone AWHILE
Yeah
Also new Power supply news from me: I found like the perfect power supply
Corsair RMx White
either 750W or 850W
usually 750w is enough
I know, but for £10 more 100W seems like it'd last me that little extra mile
Plus it comes with White sleeved cables which i'd end up spending £60 on
anyone have the "Thermaltake View 71" case?
Nope, But I can remember that it's expensive as hell, pretty big and looks good
@celest schooner I like the case, especially the room to fit a 360 AIO Radiator in the front OR the top of the case. However, The 3 case fans are preinstalled(ok.) but depending on the parts youre gonna be using, I feel that might not be sufficient enough(Idk if you will do SLI Crossovers or not, or dual CPU, extreme overclock on all your parts, etc.) But it looks like a nice case! If it helps at all. I picked up the "Rosewill Cullinan-White" it looks a little similar with the same amount of room for case fans for about half the price.
@fiery monolith thanks man for the info. just was hoping someone had the case, cuz i was gonna ask for a picture of it from the top
and its showing the cullinan is a mid-tower. im looking for a full tower
and you could obvi take off the front facing fans right?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/w74nJ8 this seems like the likely choice to go on my first PC
thoughts?
ye you could take off the front fans and do whatever u wanna with them. i was just sayin u could have a 360mm AIO Rad in the front or top. Thats all 😃 Gotta go tho! Have a good one all!
Why no nvme storage @tropic hollow ?
So
A. The Motherboard you've chosen has Z370, you'll want a z390 (check hardware unboxed's Z390 roundup)
B. Motherboard manufacturers have some whack settings in bios that lets the 9900k chomp through a crap ton of wattage, might want to get a beefier PSU.
C. It'll probably be more beneficial to get a 360mm Radiator to cool the 9900k
D. You'll want case fans to help cool the motherboard VRMS
E. There are better cases for airflow, i've seen people who dislike the h500 due to the airflow being only average.
liquidcooling?
Well, depends what you want to do
ok let me put it this way
if it looks cool
i like it
baahah in all seriousness
i'll change it to how you said now :D
better? @chilly edge
i like the h500
I did too, but I'll be getting a Phanteks P350x
o dang
Watching some Z390 videos to see if there's anything better than the MSI board
ahhh
@tropic hollow how much are you willing to spend on a motherboard
I don't want to spend more than 1.7K on the entire build
@tropic hollow for around $70 more you can upgrade to the Z390 Aorus PRO from Gigabyte
performs a lot better thermally
alright sounds good
How optimistic
Oh crap yeah
oh rip
actually its fine lmao
i can get the gpu for around 550
willing to go the extra mile for that
@chilly edge is the aorus pro RGB? or just that orangish color?
Well lets see the gigabyte website
RGB FUSION with Multi-Zone LED Light Show Design, Supports Addressable LED & RGB LED Strips
It's RGB
But I don't think I can link it
ok cool thanks
are we allowed to drop photos of our setups in here 😮
of course! @steady sage
zzz. instagram removed the ability to download your own images
Screenshot?
thats insane
my laptop has a SS kb as well
new rival 600 is probs the bet mouse i'v ever owned, shame the glue from the pads leaks out and makes my hands sticky 😮
haha make an RMA man
whats the point of that top part
is where the GPU's sit
Which?
😦
ahhh]
actually the only reason I bought hte laptop is because it had a SS keyboard
ahhhh
makes sense
best keyboards :)
if you could take the keyboard out
that would be cool
ahhh
i switched my M500
the only keyboard i'v owned that I liked more than my 6Gv2
:D
qck+ just arrived
it's kind of a pc build picture too because it has my entire pc in it but yeah lol
zzz i had the corsair mm300 mousepad at first
but the stitched edges started to tear apart after like 2 months
so i bought the razer sphex v2 adhesive mousepad (in the picture) as a replacement
hoping the qck+ isn't the same story
hmm?
i need a good 4k 240hz monitor
1440P 24" 144hz+ is all i want
27'' for me
Here is a pretty good one for a pretty good price @tropic hollow
Another good one is always gonna be the ASUS ROG(However thats almlst $200 more]
@fiery monolith Nice! ill look into it,. and @pulsar fossil 4k looks cool 😎
🤔
@tropic hollow I didnt see the 4k part of the monitor. Im pretty sure those are not a thing yet. Im pretty sure we just crossed over 4k 144hz
There is a 4k 165hz monitor for $750. Idk what the response time is. Im pretty sure its 4ms
im looking into a massive curved alienware one
massive is overstating it
ok ok
its 34
I mean... If you got that kinda money. go for it lol
hahah
A. The language is rude
and also
Why the hell are you using a h110 board with an 8th gen locked processor
- h110 doesnt support 8th gen CPUs
- AMD is a better choice right now
oh really?
Yes, also, there's PcPartPicker https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/guide/MLXscf/great-amd-gaming-build
No point in Z370 if you're not using an 8600k/8700k
AMD is better for longevity, you won't need to buy a new motherboard to upgrade your processor
Plus the stock cooler is much more competent
For example, he could get this https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/RPgQ9J
I’m soon starting to build my pc and suggestions on parts?
@viscid flame give me a budget and your country and I'll make a parts list
Need the country to know which region to use in pcpartpicker
Could just use one of the presets in pcpartpicker :)
For monitors - check Iiyama, guys
I've got one (27", 2k resolution) - pretty nice, better that alternatives I've seen.
that moment when you dont know how to write pound symbol so you copy polish letter that looks almost the same
"Ł"
Lmao, i know on mobile most smartphones have it £££££
@chilly edge I looking around $2000 and I live in Australia
Keep in mind I really know anything about computers
any certain requirements? @viscid flame
@chilly edge I would like to game and stream on it
anything else?
That’s all I can think of
Well, this is what I came up with https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/CbxW8Y
Dang the 1050ti stinks
Tweaking the settings (max low) didn't help much
Sooooo, I'm not sure what's going on, but I saw a significant improvement after updating the GPU driver. Even though the old driver was just one month older than the update.
Rather than barely doing 30 fps it's now doing about 90.
🤔
Drivers will do that. Thats why they are really heccin important! :)
What game is it?
A 100% guess and I wanna say that im wrong but the style looks like its from Grand Theft Auto V ???
Yo is a 2080 for 830$ good ? I was going to go for a 1080 but can't find any in stock but this 2080 has a 5 month payment for 165 plus tax and shipping for the first payment
depends on country IMO
in Ukraine 1080ti is like 50-100$ cheaper than 2080 and I decided to go with latter one
I would pay it all in full/straight up instead of a 5 month. Only because you will end up spending more than u need to. But also (idk what ur situation is) but there is only a handful of rtx games. Along with idk if u were talkin about a 1080ti or just the 1080
Just the 1080 and its way more convienent to pay by month and doesn't cost more overall, as I still pay shipping and not extra fees also I had a 5%coupon so that's like 50$ gone
Gotchaaaa
I just don't want to upgrade my graphics card later on for a few year bc there so expensive
I can say 1080ti is gonna last for AWHILE
I also read somewhere that they are gonna stop production of the 1080ti???? Idk if anyone else has heard it or not
Yes, it's stopped since 1-2 months
guys, is the 3dmark a good benchmark?
Umm, that's a lot of browsers I have on this VM, 38 to be exact!
imagine you are a web developer making the markup and you need to support all of them 😱
but that doesn't fit here 😃
@fiery monolith 1080ti will definitely last for at least a couple of years but I assume rtx 2080 will be little bit better and the performance gap between those 2 will increase because of more driver updated and optimization
@pine copper It's definitely possible to make a mockup that fits all. Most of those are based on Chrome
Is my setup lit?
- Keyboard: Steelseries m500
- Mouse: Steelseries rival 110 (gonna get rival 600)
- XXL mousepad
- Headset : MSI DS502 (gonna buy arctis 7 or arctis pro wireless, need some opinion on these headsets about the mic and sound quality)
- Monitor: OMEN by HP 27inch 165hz 1ms 1440p (+ acer xf240h 144hz 1ms not using it takes too much electricity)
- PC Specs: Intel core i7-6700k 4,5ghz, acer dual geforce gtx 1060 3gb, 16gb ram (2x 8gb ram 3200mhz), 3x be quiet pure wings 2 fans and one watercooling. 😉
so you have an 8 slot motherboard with 2gb sticks of RAM in each DIMM? This is why you need to be careful of what you say
there we go
You're playing at 1440p with a measly 1060 3gb??? Also if you're willing to spend that much on a arctis pro wireless, you can get a better gpu
1070ti or a 1080 or a 1080 ti would be the best bets i would think
580 is more 1060 6gb than 1070
The feeling when you turn a new build on for the first time, and it Just Works TM 😂
Noice!
😙
H150i pro, really nice btw. I really enjoy it!
(I have pump set to max speed and fans set to "EXTREME")
+a m.2 drive? Do reccomend 😄
It's a corsair 570x @celest schooner
Idk i was told it's not needed with my 500gb ssd and my 2tb harddrive
Hmm? @celest schooner
thanks. if it was the view 71, i was gonna ask you to send me a pic of the top
or front
but nevermind
It loads windows instantly for me, but ye if u got a mass storage device and dont really care about boot times, i think you will be pretty good
Merry Christmas
Arctis pros @noble oak
Oh wow! Nicsu! Do they sound good?
Haven’t done much testing but so far very good
That's dope! Have fun man!
Thanks!
No problem
I know right. That's a nice lit up setup
Thnaks Guys, I love steelseries! 😃
Would a 850w PSU be enough to power a rig with two 1080ti's and AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
I think so, but you could also probably aim for a higher wattage
what do you think of my setup guys
Tbh i think the higher the wattage, the more future proofing youre doing(no need to go overkill with like a 1600w lol, but a 850-1000 i think would be perfect) @valid bloom
@chilly edge wdym?
well, "prime delivery"
comes on monday
Amazon selling it for £1 more, comes on friday
It would take until monday before the cancellation could be processed
@wild geyser I just got that same Mic stand. I also have the snowball. How has it been holding up so far?
Ah
really good so far had it for 3 months @celest schooner

Nicsu👍🏻
I’m loving my new Arctis 5’s
😍😍😍😍😍
I got them in white
White ones are really clean also! I love it when people match their PC builds/lights with their headphones also 😋
Hell yes
I also got a headset stand

And my white Arctis 5’s
It’s alright, I have two mice now
The Bloody Gaming P85 best imo and now the Rival 100
Wow talk about Esports ready mouse
I think, the only thing about this mouse I don’t like right now: It’s size
That’s all
I mean, i'd say the sensor
Does anybody have any links to a steelseries wallpaper? i gotta represent!
Ooooo
I LOVE the P85 from Bloody, best mouse ever IMO, but the SteelSeries 100 feels pretty good
the 110 feels even better
For some reason, I didn't see it on Amazon, so i just got this
Should've kept looking
I guess I should have by the way you make it sound 😂
yeah because the sensor on the 100 is kinda, well. Absolute trash. The 110 has a better sensor, more customisable DPI, better tracking etc
well the actual sensor on the 100, is a good sensor, the 110 is just better and more precise.
I prefer the rival 600 overall
finally ordered all my parts
getting my case (Define C TG) tomorrow, half of parts on 3rd of January in Kyiv and another half on 4th of January here in my city in a small local shop
been waiting for this for 1.5 years 😄
Nice 😁
if i want to do a custom water cooled PC, is it ?necessary/worth-it/easier? to get a full tower over a mid-tower case?
Well, it depends how nuts you're going
If you want a big rig then full towet
@chilly edge i would have both the CPU and GPU in the loop
I believe the fractal design S2 will work well for that
Has a fill/drain port at the top fan bracket
it looks kinda small? or no?
I think it should work, admittedly I haven't doen much research into Custom liquid cooling loops
let me check
i sent you a link
yep that's teh case
Not sure how many reservoirs you can mount or how many you need
But it does have a reservoir mount
ok
cool thank man for the help
but now im wondering if spending an extra $15 to get the view 71 from TT is worth it then cuz it is a full tower
that's your call, both cases look like they can fit the same size reservoir, but i havent done enough research
I was gonna say, there are people that use small towers(like if ur gpu was stacked with another one) tall. And still fit a custom water loop into it. I know the youtuber JayzTwoCents(correct me if im wrong on the spelling) that did a 100% custom loop in a tiny case
Full tower is prolly gonna be the easiest, but might result in more $ spent in a bigger case, and more tubing/pump/etc.
true thats a good point
Just tryna get all the thoughts in your head ya know?
haha yea thanks
Oh! +if you plan on getting 2 gpu's to SLI in the loop(they look sick imo) i would recc a full tower
lol. yea 2 GPU are a bit outa my price range RN. i agree they look sick but wish i had the money for that
use NVLink, no major difference, just higher bandwidth
A good thing about GPU water blocks is they can be single slot
^
😍^
Yea!
Lol
My setup: SteelSeries QcK cloth, steelseries rival 600, steelseries arctis 5 and a Logitech g413 Carbon.
Kinda a silly question, but i'v wondered it for years,
if i had a PC that had 1 Core ( clocked at 4Ghz )
is it faster then a 4 Core 1 Ghz or the same speed
if they was on the same size
not sure
I always find CPU comparing Hard, even to remember the diffence 😄
I always have to google the difference, but even then its can still be tricky
and since this is PC i might as well post my Laptop spec's ( Custom Build )
CPU - i7 6700HQ
GPU - 950M 2GB
RAM - 16GB HyperX IMPACT 1600MHz 2x8GB
Boot - 128GB SAMSUNG SM951 + 120GB HyperX SSD
Down side i was dumb 4 Years ago and should have got a PC 😦
@lucid fog you should avoid comparing CPU's by stats like this since there is a lot of space for various optimizations etc
so an old Pentium at 4Ghz may be slower than modern laptop CPU (maybe even slower than some phone CPU's but I'm not sure)
Ye, just look at console 😄
Awesome 😍
it is, I have fallen in love with the Apex M750.
Hey guys what would be a good monitor to get with my 2080 rtx card?
Price range around 100-300
USD - GBP or other currency?
Rival 600, Apex M750 TKL, QcK Prism XXL and Arctis 7 Wireless headset 😃
@dusky iris usd
at $300 usd you are probably looking at a 1440p 144hz monitor
something like Acer KG271C 27" 144Hz 1ms Full HD Gaming Monitor
Ahh
@ashen marsh better to go gsync with a rtx 2080. Save up another $100 or so
Is a 400 W good for a pc with 1050 ti, 8GB RAM, FX-6400?
Depends what your budget is
you normally want at least 450W, but increasing to 500-600W will be more comfortable
@fathom ingot Just buy best in your budget, higher is better. Would open more choices in future for upgradability.
My cousin gived me a 400 W cuz I dropped my pc and... RIP 650 W, i7-7700 and a 8GB RAM, but IDK if this is enough
I can spend up to 500 euros
ooof thats sad
ugh that bites
I tried to put it on the smallest car ever
Case and PSU
i wouldn't build your pc in that box
Nice!
Monitor is very old. Only uses DVI
Only have a Mobo
The keyboard is a dell membrane
Alright, @noble oak has been warned for 'Bad word usage'.
damn you need an m750 ;)
you're building a keyboard?
Yes sir
noice
Yea
ordering rn
Nicsu!
zero
why do u have a pc case and mobo lol
but nothing else
@noble oak Christmas gifts
And I’m broke
So I have to beg
then why do u only have a mobo and case?
why didnt u just save money to get a better laptop or smthin
also im gonna sell my razer deathadder cause i wanted a steel series mosue lool
lol*
Lol
Good
i like how the mousepad costs more den the mouse

I have the Rival 100
how is it
Very light but it’s nice
nice i like light mouses
The side buttons feel heavy at first but grow on ya over time
nice
lmao
Nicsu
very nice
yeee i dont really like the mouse i got rn it has aot of drag and the cable is rlly heavy
Anyone on? Need some pc advice
@bitter mist What’s up?
Aight so rn I have a 6600k, I'm thinking of going to a 2600x or a 1700x
I'm losing in some frames, but I'll be amazing in other things I'm doing (after affects work and rendering)
This will help me in the long run, which should I get
Also price to performance is pretty good vs upgrading to an i5 8600k
@noble oak
the 1700x is ur best bet for price to performance but if u want something thatll last for a bit more id say go for the 2600x
thank you
@bitter mist or you can wait until Zen2 comes out
The 2060 looks iffy
the 2060 is 60% more powerful than the 1060
the 1060 is still really good in 2018
the 2060 id say won't be needed for like 2-3 years
yee it runs bo4 well over 60 fps keep in mind i have a not so powerful cpu and 8gb ram lol
runs r6s 180 fps average all ultra lol
BO4 at 60 fps? That's barely playable imo. Needs to be 100+
reeally not lmaooo
i can run it just fine
oh keep it mind 60 fps on medium lol so i play on low get 70-90
Looking good @noble oak. Keep sharing as you go! I know there's a lot of mech keyboard connoisseurs in here
@humble rampart Yea! Always

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy an adapter for the arctis 5 2019 edition to aux?
@odd burrow Are you looking for a cable end with both headphone and mic?
Yeah
I think AS sells that accessorie? I might be wrong tho
@ashen marsh AS?
Here's a question. I have the dreaded windows 10 problem that affects 144hz and 60hz monitors when it limits the 144hz monitor when obs is on my 60hz screen etc. I have a 1060 GPU that I connect for both of my monitors, would I be able to buy a GT 710 just to use as a display gpu for my 60hz monitor to prevent it from limiting? (I heard that you could use your cpu's gpu to do this but my CPU doesn't have a discrete gpu) Hope this all make sense
Snoop in monitor settings and Nvidia control panel
^ if you do buy a new gpu just buy at least a 1050 i would say. Even though its a bit more of an investment. But thats my opinion 😄
^ if you do buy a new gpu just buy at least a 1050 i would say. Even though its a bit more of an investment. But thats my opinion
what for? :)
he already owns 1060
I skipped over that part :( i would go with a cheap gpu. A GTX 660 would even pass by(if you dont need HDMI outputs) if youre just tryna run a sife monitor.
Cool
@dusk python I don't understand why your 60hz would limit your main display?
You shouldn't have any issues running both screens at their own refresh rates
yeah i run a 144hz and 60hz alongside eachother with no issue
Does the RTX 2080ti work with an Asus ROG PG258Q monitor?
its an overclocked 240hz monitor
so 250hz
Depends what you mean by "work"
@pulsar fossil its a issue with windows 10/nvidia. From my understanding windows 10 has a different way of managing programs to make them use less cpu/memory or whatever. When you run a program in full screen on the 144Hz monitor and the other screen is static then it's fine. But when you have a moving scene such as a video or obs on the other screen it will begin to limit your framerate due to the Windows 10 handing programs differently. You can get around it buy using a igpu which I don't have, buying another 144hz monitor or running your main monitor 120hz (this didn't help my issue)
And when I meant limit your frame rate I don't mean my game or whatever drops below 60, I mean that the game feels 60fps while the game is getting 144+fps
I'll most likely buy another 144hz monitor but thats a hella big investment.
About to do a case swap with an upgraded CPU from a dual core pentium G3258 to a i5 4670k
I know my case management is trash, my dad did it 😂 3 years ago
I'm gonna buy a new monitor but is there any cheap 4k?
Not sure I did get a 144hz 1440p for £220 which is decent but not sure how much 4k goes
Check ebuyer
There are some used curved ones on some websites that aren't overused or out of warranty
There’s this one?
Not curved though
Free shipping usually
Add it to your cart, and see what shipping Goes to
You’re welcome
Gaming
@odd burrow Sorry for taking a minute to get back to you on your question. Arctis 5 2019 only comes with a 4-pole jack (allowing you to use headphone and mic on say a Nintendo Switch or your phone).
However if you want to have a cable end that splits headphone and microphone into two cables, you can buy this through our shop which will work: https://steelseries.com/gaming-accessories/arctis-cable-8-pin-dual-35mm
Finally got my act together and set up a third monitor. I could really use an upgrade
That's a great length when going from the desk to down under and behind a PC
Ahh
I dig the minion @pulsar fossil
The monitor on the left is bigger
ahhhhhh
27+24+24
Would you ever get a 4th and put it on top? Or too much?
Rival 310, Arctis Pro Wireless, QCK Prism cloth XXL and M750
I really don't like top monitors tbh
Too much for me @fiery monolith
I mean, I can think of one purpose
Gorcha gotcha
I wouldn't mind switching for an ultra wide
spotify lets you go full screen with the album cover so that's what i'd use a top monitor for
Spotify
STOP
😄
You get it for free with YouTube Premium
I'm not a student
I am
so its cheap for me :D
actually
for non-students
its EXACTLY the same price
😃

by a seller on amazon

that's so much
