Guys, any first-hand opinions on watercooling (AIO)? Planning to build my first PC and want it to look good but also to be quiet enough. The main question here is pump sound - some people think it is more obstructive than fan noise.
What do you think?
I am a little bit afraid of leaks too but I understand they are extremely rare on good AIOs - and I am going to choose Corsair or NZXT cooler since they have better warranty.

If I remember correctly:
AIOs can cool better (water has a higher heat capacity than water). AIOs take longer to absorb and dissipate heat.

also a so-so part about AIOs is that most reviewers test them for 15-30 minutes and it usually takes a couple of hours for the AIO to warm up liquid inside (after what cooling performance may decrease)

Had some stuff open at the time, the wallpaper extended onto all the screens. Now it doesn’t work like that because I moved the right one vertical. I have an i5-4460, and an RX 480 running them. Only the middle one on the 480 because the other ones use VGA and I don’t have adapters for it all ;-;

I want to upgrade my cpu, im not for sure if I should buy an AMD FX-9590, or buy a Intel i7 8700k, +new motherboard +new ram(ddr4 prolly 16gb+)

is it worth the investment to swap my whole pc to ddr4 with i7-8700k? Or should i just buy the FX-9590 and a 1TB SSD?

-good memory support (2933mhz listed)
-good core + thread count
-amd are releasing zen2 in the coming year which will have an even higher core count and processing power but will remain on the AM4 chipset so you won't have to buy a new motherboard

To overclock your CPU
Intel - Go into BIOS, every bios is different but you should be able to navigate to a section where you can set the "CPU Core ratio" and "CPU Voltage" higher.
AMD - You can do the same or use the AMD Master utility software

To Overclock your GPU
Download a program like "ASUS GPU Tweak II" or MSI Afterburner, you can increase the clock speed, the memory clock, power and temperature target, fan speed and more. The programs are simple enough to use.

Drivers
Go to the hardware manufacturer's website, go to drivers, find your product and download the driver. If you're on an NVIDIA card you can download drivers more easily through NVIDIA GeForce Experience

@fiery monolith i tried a normal SS mousepad and currently I have the DeX version. I have a wood desk (real wood). When I play with the mousepad well on the desk it do not move at all. When I put it close to the edge (to play with only the hand on the desk), the normal one was slipping during intense gaming. The DeX slip less in that situation.

Both ensure good tracking. Glide is much better on the DeX.

@sturdy basin both are realllly good mice, it just depends on if you really care about the changable grip on the glaive mouse. They are almost the same imo. I would just go for the one that you have the most of. (EX.) Get rival 600 if you have more steel series rgb products. (EX.) Get glaive if you have more corsair rgb products. (Thats how I would go for what one)

I have the three in the front pulling air in, the one in the back pulling air out, and the two at the top for the water cooler pulling air out of the case through the cooler and out the case ( this is optional, really pulling air in to out or out to the cooler in is fine as long as the first are in the same configuration)

EhrgeizTV, I'm not gonna mention you again, cause you are only gonna see this if you care that way, but I did check benchmarks just to be sure, and even at stock everything, the 9700k performs equal or better the the 8700k, multi core and single core, because what multithreading is, is it divides your pc cores in half, so there is less waiting around because they can distribute better to finish things in a more timely matter, but when they split in half, it's splitting the power in half too, so it does have net performance gains, but not as much as actually having more cores. 6 cores 12 threads might be the equivalent of 7 cores 7 threads, but definitely not as good as actually having more cores. It does depend a lot how much hyperthreading will even help, but based on the benchmarks it's no better than just having 8 cores instead. Anyways, the 9700k is much cooler, not much more expensive, and a higher boost clock.
