that's because of the wireless, I recommend turn down headset volume (dial) and turning up the Windows volume

I'm looking into getting a full Steelseries setup, because I love the software and ease of customization.
Right now though my current headset is a cheap, effective and durable pair. £5, great quality, and have lasted two(?) years so far without any issue at all. But once that breaks, I'll be looking into steelseries headsets. Same goes for my mouse.
My mouse is a Logitech, MMO mouse with like 12 buttons on the side for the thumb. It's a godsend, and if steelseries put out something like that with a numpad on the mouse, I'll jump on that immediately. Otherwise, I might just re-purchase the same one I have rn

Hi! I have My Apex Pro Keyboard connected to a 2mA USB Hub as the only connected device, but it keep disconnecting (starting to blink and not responding). When I change port on the Hub it works for a few minutes but then disconnectes again.

@dawn sandal if you have the opportunity (which is more difficult now because everything is closed) I recommend visiting any local computer stores, best buy, etc you might have near you and see if they have keyboards on display for you to try out. Everyone likes a different kind of switch. It's based on personal preference so you may or may not like the feel of the switches in the Apex 5

I personally use the pro + dac. It's a great sounding headset and you can use hires audio and studio quality sound I can't comment on differences of sound with or without it so I'm of no use but it's so very personal with these things. All I can say is experiment with the settings and stuff to find what suits you. It's all trial and error but surround sound can make it easier to locate distance and direction I find, but play about and experiment with audio settings..

@worn oxide if you really want the absolute best sound and are willing to play with the settings and dial in the right EQ for your ears then go with the pro + game dac to take advantage of high res audio and the other features the dac provides. If you're just looking for a relatively simple plug and play headset with minor EQ tweaking go with just the Arctis Pro

Yep, you'll be happy with either one honestly. You might not be able to hear a big difference between dac and no dac. Some people can hear it more than others, but unless you're listening to dac and no dac at the same time for a comparison you probably won't recognize a difference. If you can't hear a difference between the 7.1 presets or with 7.1 on vs off then you probably won't be able to tell a difference between high res audio with the dac vs just having the Arctis Pro by itself
If you're just looking for a solid pair of gaming headphones and don't want to play around with audio settings too much I'd just go with the Pro by itself or even look at the Arctis 7s to save a bit of money

@worn oxide the changes you make in SSE do affect the sound it's just that your ears might not be able to discern the differences when you make changes. If that's the case then an Arctis Pro is probably a waste of money and you'd be better off with the 5s or 7s and just tweaking the EQ to something you prefer for hearing footsteps

I am having an issue where my Rival 650 wireless is flashing colors extremely quickly, like a light show. It's very distracting and jolting to the eyes. It happens constantly, the only time it stops flashing is when I explicitly disable illumination. My profiles are a mix of color shit with a ~10 second speed or "steady". Not sure what to do, mouse is fully charged and I have restarted mouse, cpu, and engine many times. Mouse is tracking just fine with no latency - the lighting is just overwhelming

So essentially it's sound picked up by the mic and transmitted to the earpiece. It's kind of like live feedback, so you can adjust your voice volume if youre deafening yourself chances are your deafening everyone else. On top of that, it also allows you to get sound from reality. For example if the doorbell rings, phone rings or your mum is screaming at you that dinner is ready. All that kinda stuff.

well i bought a new arctis pro , i installed the engine software .. and ive got a msg about DTS "additional software for this device is requierd - click here to install from the main window" i clicked it and it download something and say its done . but nothing happened
he also said i need to restart my headphone , i tried to disconnect them and connect back but still the DTS option is off

in my opinion. if you got the money go for the pro wireless. but i have the arctis 7 and the sound quality is amazing with deep bass and great surround sound option in the application. they cost around $130 brand new and they are so worth the price.

Not sure on the headset thing but I'm sure someone will know or you can put a support ticket through the SS website..
The DAC is just a digital to analogue converter so I'd say yes the sound quality is better with a DAC but also you can use it for notifications too like on discord.
And you can adjust between chat and game volume.
And you can only get Hi Res audio with the DAC. Afaik

Tbh I wouldn't review a mouse before using it at least a month. You can't tell if it gets slow or jumpy or uncomfortable in such a short time
