So my 650 Wireless stopped working wirelessly.
I opened a ticket and told them that the mouse works fine when the wire is plugged in but when I pull it out it starts flashing orange.
They told me to download a recovery tool and run it, which I did. That didn't work, it was still not working correctly.
They asked me to send a few photos of it, which I did and now they're issuing me an RMA.
That's great and all but in the email, they told me I have to snap the buttons off the mouse and take a photo of the buttons broken???
Why on earth would I smash up the mouse when it works fine on wired mode???
I've never seen such an odd request... and the mouse is within warranty so I feel very uneasy about breaking it myself. I don't break PC things... the firmware just stopped working in it for no reason...

@cinder yacht if they arent super fragile, regular water and some soap/dish washer fluid or whatever and give em the bath.
Then just make sure before re-adding the keycaps to the correct position, to clean them of any water/rinse them out. (so electronics dont go kaboom/bye bye)

however, DO NOT clean them in alcohol or whatever, it damages the plastic.

@hexed shore I believe there's some write protection built in to the app and bootloader on the mouse, but it's the firmware engineers who would know the full details offhand
and most of our firmware development is very low-level
not quite bare metal, but awfully close to it for some products

it is written in the small booklet or isnt that : on every surface, you must reset the mouse liftoff distance by holding down dpi switch and not moving it whilst its flashing

Mmm...I suggest you to sent it back under RMA. Being harder to press means that something is wrong into the switch and the contact might not last as long as you expect (not even a year in some cases)...
It is surely a defective unit and is not usual for that mouse to behave in the way you are experiencing.

The Arctis 5 has 2 playback outputs that will show up on Windows. You need to make sure that your game audio is using the Arctis 5 game output and your chat program is using the Arctis 5 chat output.
