Linux by definition is not plug and play, you buy a laptop and then have to do a boot off a usb to install an entire OS froma usb just to reduce your ability to do things, that just isnt optimal for most people who use laptops. Linux is great on a PC but windows and macOS is far superior for "Plug and play"

you must try other distros then, using some very secure yet portable distros (kali,tails,ubuntu,qubes) liveboot, it ran on my system without a hitch, knowing my hardware.
