If anybody wants faster streamdeck support lets all vote for the feature request i posted today. I get they want to make profiles better but the streamdeck support is the next update we NEED 😄
Not any official support that I'm aware of
Here's the feature request: https://discord.com/channels/299040363123965952/1225985575400771654
Hello everyone! I was wondering why does the SteelSeries Sonar Microphone Levels keeps dropping every now and then. Any tips to fix this?
Have you any filters applied?
I only have one in Sonar the AI Noise Cancelling
I have a similar issue that my mic drops for a few seconds - I thought it was a hardware error, but maybe it is the AI Noice Cancelling - not sure
This is also weird that the actual mic picks up the voice but the virtual mic does not when no application that uses the voice and I need to reopen the steel series
When I use the Arctic Nova Pro Wireless wireless, I keep hearing a chitchat and the microphone sounds like a machine. What should I do?
For any Sonar volume you can add a dedicated shortcut, then you can assign the same on Stream Deck buttons, so that when you push on a stream deck button it replicates the volume shortcut you need
it might be the AI noise cancelling, if your mic is picking noise then the effects cancels it. However, if you mic is picking voice (e.g. you talking), then there should be no attenuation
When I start my pc my default microphone is just the microphone but I use my stream mic because I need to rough my stream deck to my mic so I have to manually set my mic every time
SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar when the current device turns off, or becomes unavailable. For example, Sonar can detect when a Nova headset is disabled, and automatically switch your Sonar output to your speakers.
This functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.
You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.
That really dosent do anything...as soon as you turn the PC off it comesback.
we know you have that issue. but not everyone has that issue. for most the priority list or at least disabling switching on reboot works.
used to be so reliable now always breaks and doesn't load 🤬
New to sonar so im not sure if the setting exists but is there a way to switch my mic input from stereo to mono. Cus it only records to the left ear for recordings and what not?
When I try to mute the side that can hear it dosn't mute it still plays in obs
Can someone please help me on this
If I am correct stream is what stream hears but then the audios overlap maki9ing me sound like a robot and the game sound werid
if y'all could do me a favour and not change my settings without asking that'd be great 😂
Thought I was going nuts before I noticed AI Noise Cancellation got turned on for Chat (and this was before it had an in-app popup).
How do I use the "game" audio type as my audio type for CS2? I can change the preset but cant select the audio type in CS2
Not sure if I got you right. To route CS2 to Game you can try the windows audio mixer.
put gaming as your default device in windows audio settings
then cs goes there
and if you want spotify to go in media you need to drag it in sonar
Why not starting CS and assigning it to Game in the windows audio settings?
you mean in sonar?
I think it resets sometimes
imo thats the easiest way and how ive been using it
No, I mean in the Windows Audio settings. Basically the same procedure you advised for Spotify 🙂
I dont know how you can assign apps to different output "devices" in windows audio settings 🤔 I only know you can do that in sonar
Yes you can. You can see the input and output device for each app, right below the default channels 😉
this?
Yes!
hi i downloaded sonar today and my mic is the same and the quality is not good how
You should set your mic as input and Sonar mic as input for all apps you want to use the mic (Discord, Games, etc). You could also use Sonar Stream as input, but this will use all of the other sonar sources as input
wait im sending you my setting of sonar and my mic settings mp
why my mic isn't clear
im setting up sonar, but i get voiceback on my own voice, and cant figure out how not to hear my self,
Sonar or Sonar for Streamers?!
If you are talking about Sonar for Streamers, the monitoring of the microphone (the headphones symbol) should be either muted or disabled)
@zenith juniperI figured it out, i had a brain boop and had it setup all wrong, but its fixed now
But its was for streamer mode, but there was no sound on stream, but its fixed now.,
Great to hear that 🙂
any indonesians here? cuz i'm not really good at english 😔😔
Translation: I asked him/her if we should try using a translation service.
try turning down Sidetone
I fixed it. I had the stream setting output set to my headset and not sonar stream. I figured it out after a while, I must have hit the wrong output 😂😅
How do I use sonar for streaming
That is a VERY general question. Maybe you start with checking YouTube for a tutorial and get back here with specific questions?
Maybe start here https://youtu.be/ch6tbHZfO-k?si=YlPS_y4YymDO6dXd

Can anyone help me? How do I set the MEDIA in obs? I already tried but if i mute media in sonar, obs continues to play the music
basically I want to use twitch VOD
in Media
I am not sure, I got you right. Can you share your OBS Audio settings? How is the music integrated into the stream? How do you play the music?
I didn’t understand the VOD part at all
Does anyone know how to put a noise gate on mic monitor ? i like to hear my voice but i cant stand hearing whats going on in my house. I know its working on say streaming, but not when im listening to my voice.
*mic monitoring
do you mean the mic monitoring via sidetone or via personal mix in streamer mode?
well, that's the thing i have mine setup so i can hear my voice i.e sidetone but i think noise gate is working on personal and streamer mode but just not in my sidetone if that makes sense?
its annoying hearing dog barking and family caughing in the background
etc
yeah it makes sense, but it is like that for a reason. there isn't a noise gate or any processing on sidetone is because adding any would introduce a delay (since the audio would need to be processed before making it to your ears.)
i think the best thing to do is to turn down the sidetone a bit, maybe turn down the other to match
GoXLR is also a hardware based solution. You can't really do it in software
I wish we had one more virtual output for twitch vod track
instead of it coming out as one audio track on dual streaming
You could do it by adding the other audio devices as well and combine it in OBS?
i need help i set my game source to streamer mode but it is not showing my audio source in obs
Sonar is great for audio routing and mixing but needs a selectable mono option on the mic channel so XLR inputs can be monitored and sent to stream in stereo. My current work around is to setup a separate mic channel in OBS using the sonar virtual mic input and then selecting the mono option on that channel in OBS. It works but I lose the ability to control and monitor my audio in the Sonar mixer. If anyone has another recommendation, I would appreciate it. Regards. -8bt
it REALLY sounds like you would just be better with voicemeeter, you seem to know your audio better than most, also all of the things you have requested are a feature of voicemeeter... check it out, it's free
Okay. I started with voicemeeter but figured I would give Sonar a shot hoping for better intergration but as it stands, the volume rocker on my keyboard does not seem to be able to be set to control the master channel in Sonar either. I might have to switch back. I appreciate the reply.
Well I actually use voicemeeter and sonar together to be able to play my guitar through discord and it comes through in studio quality with no latency so I can only imagine what you need is just more control over different channels
An interesting idea. I will give that a shot because I really like the smart volume, spatial audio and auto noise gate in sonar. So maybe I just route those signals to voicemeeter then go from there. I also play guitar and bass through a focusrite scarlett so having a studio quality channel I could send to stream would be ideal. Thanks for the info.
yup
Hey guys quick question: My mic works fine for stream itself, but ingame my mic is pretty much just static while being the same source. Any idea why this happens?
Can someone help me figure out why the "stream" desktop audio isnt picking up in streamlabs
Can someone help me fix the stream audio option isnt picking anything up on twitch
Hey Weefiii, just to reiterate, you use the Sonar Stream Output in Streamlabs but the sound does not transmit to Twitch?
We could start with taking a look at the transitions:
- When you listen in on what the audience should here, are you able to hear the sound as expected?
- When you take a look at the sound device in Streamlabs, does it look like, that something is transmitted?
- When you record in Streamlabs (not sure if you can, I am using OBS myself) is there any sound?
has anyone figure how to bypass the lock on resizing GG? I hate that I cant use it on my vertical monitor. making me consider dropping the software, tbh
Hey Lady’s and Gentleman’s , someone can help me I can’t figure out why when I’m capturing my screen , the sound of the game is very quiet and the chat sound very loud you can barely hear the game . Someone have a guide or some settings that I may try , I’m using like artic nova 1
How are you capturing your screen?
lol same. it is the little things isn't it?
First add the eq and effects you want to each sonar channel. Max the volume on each channel and then mute each channel except for your mic channel. In OBS or your preferred software disable desktop audio and all other audio inputs, create a separate audio track for each channel by adding an audio output capture device for each.
Create an audio input capture device for your mic (set this to sonar mic) Set the game as sonar gaming. set the chat as sonar chat. copy and paste these devices into all your scenes. you will now be able to control these volumes/effects independently and adjust live without having to change scenes or end up going to a black screen or heaven forbid show your desktop! lol.
If you use spotify or another media app do the same for that and assign to sonar media channel. go into advanced audio settings turn on monitor and output for all your channels. you will now hear what your stream hears. I recommend getting your mic sounding how you want it and then turning off the monitoring, simply because there can be a short delay and I find it difficult to talk with an echo in my head. You can also check or uncheck tracks 1, 2, and 3 on each track to choose to include the audio in either your stream, vod track, or capture track. I recommend turning off tracks 4, 5, and 6 as you most likely won't use them.
Also Sonar's compressor and other effects should be all you need but I recommend adding a limiter in your stream software to each track. Set it to -2db and 60ms simply for the sake of protecting your viewers' ears and speakers from an unexpectedly loud audio input.
In OBS it is also possible to go into positive decibals. you just have to click on the plus sign in advance audio properties. I usually hagve mine boosted to +6 so it cuts through the music and game sounds better and has a little punch to it. I usually set game to about -15db and music to same or -20db. Ill then have discord around -5db because no one should be louder than you on your own stream.
Gonna be home like in an hour or soo
I’m using streamlabs
Perhaps can I hit you then ?
I dont use streamlabs but I assume it has similoar capabilites to OBS since they work together with a plugin. sure ill be chillin. might have to rtun some errands in a bit but ill keep an eye on the discord
Yea I have kinda traffic jam so it could be more than that
no worries i dont have much ghoing on today soi you'll catch me at some poiint
Thanks a lot
not a problem
is there anyway to set my GG app to stop auto defaulting to my tv for audio? i have to switch it EVERY day
yo mate im here
hey just got home
been messing around but to be frank i dont have a clue :))
what ar eyou stuck on
SteelSeries Sonar has “Device Fallback” that will automatically switch the outputs on Sonar.
Fallback can be triggered when a device is unavailable (such as when booting your PC or unplugging a device), or it can switch outputs if it detects if a Nova headset is turned off, and automatically switch to speakers.
This fallback functionality can be adjusted or turned off by going into the settings in GG. You can find it under Settings > Sonar > Backup Device Switch.
You can also adjust the order in which devices fall back to. This can be adjusted in the same options menu. Simply scroll down to see the full list of devices.
move your TV further down in the priority list. (see above)
Hey people,
was just wondering if there is a good way to submit a bug report / feature request for Sonar for Streamers anywhere?
I've run into an issue where Sonar is locked to a sample rate of 96khz, and there is no way to change it. By itself not much of an issue, but when Streaming it's a huge CPU hog, as the streaming software has to convert all incoming audio streams to the same sample rate and most devices don't output 96khz (including SteelSeries headsets, btw). Not sure why it's locked to studio quality audio when the hardware doesn't even support it, but it'd be nice to be able to change it.
In my experiments with OBS I was able to reduce my CPU usage by as much as 20% - while idling no less - with Sonar removed as an audio source. It is the only virtual or physical audio adapter in my system not currently capable of outputting 48khz.
This is technically neither a Sonar bug, nor specifically related to Sonar for Streamers, but it is a problem specifically when using Sonar in conjunction with streaming software, so I guess this is the place? 🙂 Either way, picking the sample rate is definitely something I would like to see at least for the Streamers side of Sonar.
Right, I just realized some of the audio adapters are locked, while other are not. I guess I can work with that for now. My request still stands, is there a good way to make a feature request for allowing streamers to globally set their sample rates?
Hey @signal moth :)
Use #1070392859125104660 for those and contact #official-support with bug reports
Cheers, I’ll do that! Didn’t see the channel before
hiii Is there a way to add the capture card to sonar? since it seems like its a separate input? I'm not finding any help with this anywhere?

anyone able to help me set up my goxlr and sonar with my nova pro wirelss headset
does anyone might know how to fix why the audio becomes choppy when i play audio through my mic ?
id like to play audio through my mic for friends to hear, but it gets choppy and interferes with my mic as well
trying to use sonar to remove discord chat from tyiktok live any help im so lost
Did you apply any filters for your mic?
hello need some help ,Dual PC capture card razer ripsaw HD ,What happens is that the audio is going together on the same track to the streaming pc,I want to separate the audio from the micro ,audio from the games ,is it possible ??
what i'm looking for is in pc streaming in OBS to have the tracks all separated
No experience with dual setup, but can’t you just setup the audio devices in OBS as well?
ANYONE know how the heck to get rid of prism?
yes, but i took all of them off and its still choppy
discords cancellation filter and sonar gg's
I had a similar issue. Do you think you can use the stream device for discord?
if you mean the stream mix input channel, then yes i can
I was wondering if you can use that as input for stream. Might have some side effects though. There is a software from Logitech that lets you bundle up outputs easily, maybe that is a possible solution? I wanted to try that myself
i was already using the stream input because it wouldnt work without it, and it was still choppy. thanks for letting me know about the logitech software, ill check it out
I just tried it myself and it didn't work unfortunately. So, I am a bit at a loss here, I am sorry.
damn, its all good ill figure out how to manage, thank you for the assistance though
If you are chatting in Discord you can invite a bot to your VC called Pancake. It will actually join the voice channel and then you and anyone in the channel can add songs to the queue via commands. It uses Spotify API and then streams the song from youtube I believe. It is a neat little bot. Might be a good alternative to accomplish what you want.
The music will go to your stream though if you have chat audio included so just be aware of that when going live or saving VODs.
i need help my mic keeps echoing on OBS
Just checking: Have you added the Stream as well as the Mic Device in OBS? The Stream Output does already contain the Mic
Anyone know if we are ever going to get steam deck support?
well steam decks run linux so probably not for a while
unless you mean a stream deck and not steam deck
Yes sorry auto correct on the phone lol. A stream deck is what I meant!
i think there's a third party app, no word on official support https://github.com/MrAyianaLex/streamdeck-steelseries-sonar
Sweet will check this out and would love to see them add official support. Would get me off of Elgato’s stuff so fast lol
when i open my editing program it doesnt show up in sonar when i play the vid, and it only appears when i switch from normal to "streamer mode" and then back. any fix for it? (i use wondershare filmora to edit)
Discord keeps moving back and forth between chat and gaming, is this a known issues or does it need to be run in a certain way?
Have you set the output in Discord to Chat? That might fix the issue
Does anyone know why I can't control my mic settings in SteelSeries GG on my personal side? When I set Discord to use my GG mic, I can't mute it or change any settings. It only works if I set it to my stream mic side.
how can i make it so that i cant hear myself on streamer mode?
Disable hearing the microphone in the person al mix
check your outputs under "master" to make sure that personal and stream mix are going to the correct devices
No, the stream output is supposed to go to either the "SteelSeries - Stream" device, or a line-out on your PC that goes to another streaming PC. If you have both set to output to your headset, of course you are going to hear the stream output with the mic in it.
hey any1 have a fix for not being able to see or route apps to be routed in sonar
what apps in partcular are you not seeing?
likely your answer is say for example your using xbox party chat and you dont see your output app anywhere or move it from say game to chat then. you need to go to xbox party audio settings and make sure your ouput is set to steel series sonar "chat" not say your speakers or headset because then it wont show atall. if its set to output to steel series sonar "media" you wont be able to drag it from media to chat to switch it because its being told nativley by the host app that it belongs in media
Anything examples chrome, Spotify, discord, game.exe,
@stark ether
In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:
-
Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output
-
Open the Windows sound device by going to Settings > Sound > App Volume and Device Preferences. From this settings menu you can use the dropdown to route any app.
If you are having issues with routing not working or apps moving back to another device after dragging them, you may need to check the app itself for any sound output settings. Some apps like Discord, Spotify, and Apple Music may need to have their outputs changed within their app settings rather than done through Sonar.
I do my best to go through the entire process from downloading so setting up and assigning inputs and outputs for casual users as well as the full setup for streamers and how to add it to your streaming software plus a bonus how to do audio ducking
Hey good afternoon. I’m having a weird issue with my audio keeps glitching. I think it causes some lags for all my other applications. Trying to stream the Xbox live.
Hey y'all, im having interesting behavior with Sonar. I have Firefox set as "Media", and as you can see I have it disabled for Stream audio, however in the other screenshot in OBS you can see my Desktop Audio is picking up the sound despite the audio source being set as "Sonar - Stream". Also, even if I disable the Media channel in Sonar from my "personal mix", I still hear the audio myself. Any ideas why this is?
check what devices are set for personal and stream mix under the "master" settings
Stream mix is Sonar - Stream, the others are my headset (Arctis Nova Pro)...seems correct, right?
yes that is setup correct
I do my best to go through the entire process from downloading so setting up and assigning inputs and outputs for casual users as well as the full setup for streamers and how to add it to your streaming software plus a bonus how to do audio ducking
this is my full setup video that goes over everything with sonar, including streamer mode and how to link to streaming software plus a little extra
ill check it out, thanks!
anyone got sonar to work with the loupdeck or might there be a plugin in the works?
are you talking about for muting sound management purposes? or for playing sound bytes?
Managing volume
i havnt set mine up, dont believe there is an integrated option in loupdeck but if you set up shortcuts/hotkeys in sonar then create custome keyboard shortcut in loupdeck. name it, give icon if you want. then you could have all channels and options (mute, vol up down, ect.) setup
im trying to utilize the AI noise cancellation or noise reduction but neither are workiing?
for the alias microphone
Is the solar function strictly for pc users?
The Sonar software is only for Windows 10 and newer, yes
Thank you for your response
You're welcome ☺️
Heyya! Just a small streamer passing by.
Just wanna ask if there's any option that i can record the audio output on Discord>Sonar>OBS? When i tried to livestream yesterday it didnt pick up my discord Audio. Does anyone knows to fix this?
Configure Discord Audio Settings:
Open Discord and go to User Settings > Voice & Video.
Set the Output Device to the audio device you want to use (e.g., your default speakers or headphones).
Configure Sonar Settings:
Open Sonar (or whatever virtual audio software you are using).
Ensure Sonar is set to route the Discord audio to a virtual audio cable/device.
Add Virtual Audio Cable in OBS:
Install a virtual audio cable software like VB-Audio Virtual Cable if you haven't already.
In Sonar, route the Discord audio output to the virtual audio cable.
Set Up OBS to Capture Audio:
Open OBS and go to Settings > Audio.
Set one of the Desktop Audio devices to the virtual audio cable (e.g., Cable Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)).
Alternatively, you can add a new audio source:
Go to your OBS scene and click the + button under Sources.
Select Audio Input Capture or Audio Output Capture depending on your configuration.
Name the new source (e.g., "Discord Audio").
Select the virtual audio cable device (e.g., Cable Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)).
Test Your Setup:
Start a Discord call or play audio in Discord.
Check OBS to see if the audio levels are moving for the audio source you set up.
If you see the levels moving, the audio is being captured successfully.
Monitor and Adjust Audio Levels:
Make sure to monitor your stream and adjust audio levels as needed in OBS to ensure a balanced audio mix.
Anyone having issues of Sonar randomly closing out your sound devices? The only way for me to get them back up and running is running the windows fix tool. It happens almost every time my steelseries headset is turned off or sleeps.
my obs isnt seeing the sounds at all... i can swithc it and it will see all other audio but not sonar i can see sonar my self and i am hearing though it but obs gets 0 soudns from it not even my mic.
any suggestions
New to Sonar for Streamers so sorry if this is a dumb question. I use OBS to stream and Sound Alerts and StreamElements for various sound effects. Is there a way that I add Sound Alerts/StreamElements to Sonar or would they still be added as browser sources in OBS?
I have maybe a silly question. So in OBS, I use Sonar's individual channels as audio sources so that I can separate them to different tracks in recording. Do the sliders for stream mix also apply the different volume if I use the channels individually, or does that volume only apply to using the stream mix? Trying to track down a related issue. Thanks!
You would still let OBS run them. They will need to be set for "Monitor only" if your OBS monitoring device is one that's already captured by OBS (like desktop audio using the stream mix). Or if you have separated audio sources, use "Monitor and output"
Can someone help with best settings for warzone
Okay guys, this is probably the millionth time someone has asked this question. Why isn't sonar talking to discord and vice versa?
Why isn't siege going over to game?
In order for apps to output to the other devices in Sonar, you'll need to route the apps to the specified device. Routing can be done in one of two ways:
-
Use the routing drag and drop interface underneath the audio outputs to simply move any apps playing sounds to the required output

Try through windows or if you can through the game settings
And don't cross post, it's spammy :)
yo can i ask u something?
Yes?
hello guys anyone can help me my apex pro mini no longer lights up rgb
Anyone know how to use the sonar or a video on it to teach me I just started streaming and have gotten one of them but I am not sure how to utilise it best. Any advice is appreciated.
it's been many months, and still sonar backup device switch does not work correctly.
backup device switch does not work in streamer mode. it says so right in the settings.
Why? It makes no sense for that to be unsupported.
Especially as a programmer. Assigning a ASIO, DS or WASAPI device index would be the same in each mode
And UI/UX wise, why not disable the UI being interactive if in streamer mode? A lot of this doesn't make sense.
If the sonar module were OSS, I would work on this myself.
i imagine it's a design choice more than anything else. the audio setup for streams are often very deliberate, so having a system to change outputs automatically might cause some issues.
as a theoretical example: fallback can trigger if your headset is disconnected. lets say you walked away from your desk during your stream to take a break, but you walked too far and you lost connection. fallback would trigger and then suddenly your audio is blasting through your speakers, which would cause some echoing and possibly some feedback. Or fallback would trigger and switches mics, and suddenly you're streaming a conversation you thought was private.
This app is awful, because of the amount of features that aren't full features
^
that sounds like the most massive cope for lack of impl.
If in streamer mode it could show a popup message confirming that it will adjust the primary personal mix to what is in the list.
That's what #1070392859125104660 is for :)
It's at the point where I'm making my own apps to control GG, to give features that last 10%, don't see them implementing anything to existing features that's actually useful anytime soon
And the fact that I'm having to remake parts of the app, to make my apps work, because I can't access them through GG is rather annoying.
For example, for my Auto Switch Game Config app I made, I had to code to see which apps were running in the foreground, and then match a user input game .exe or window title to an actual runnign app.
When Engine already has the ability to see what games a user is playing, and has the ability to switch configs, they just refuse to add it to Sonar for some reason.
My code is hundreds of lines, because of how much I had to remake, without remaking parts of the app, the actual code to update the game config when a matching game is running is a single line.
If they're too lazy to add a single line of code to the app to make a feature actually useful, they're not going to do much else that's useful.
Don't get me wrong; as a OSS dev myself, mad respect for this being free. But when it is used to obtain a email for marketing and/or advertising in-application, the expectations raise a little.
@potent mural most of the stuff is done through http requests, so if you can figure that stuff out, you can make apps that do a decent amount of stuff
But do they use it for marketing or advertising? I've received 3 surveys over 3 years
I've received multiple emails from steelseries
I use a specific email for nothing but that account and I haven't
You probably signed up for it elsewhere?
Pro tip: you can add a plus to a Gmail address to make a new alias for it
Like name+ss@gmail.com
I have, and I've clicked unsubscribe multiple times
@potent mural
If you can figure out what
%7B0.0.0.00000000%7D.%7B425b33da-a138-47a1-97d2-7fe88ce30b74%7D/%7B0.0.0.00000000%7D.%7B079996df-9ca3-4ef7-9cca-31fd0554c5b4%7D
Means, and how to encode/decode it, I can make an app to switch things for you.
Ok, I figured it out
so mitmproxy and RE from there?
curl -X PUT http://127.0.0.1:49704//fallbackSettings/includeDeviceInAll/%7B0.0.0.00000000%7D.%7B425b33da-a138-47a1-97d2-7fe88ce30b74%7D/%7B0.0.0.00000000%7D.%7B079996df-9ca3-4ef7-9cca-31fd0554c5b4%7D -H "Host: localhost:49704"
Should (Haven't tested it yet) would put the fallback devices in the same order as I currently have them.
curl -X PUT http://127.0.0.1:49704/volumeSettings/classic/game/Volume/1.00 -H "Content-Length: 0" -H "Host: localhost:49704"
Puts game volume to 100% and that works and has been tested.
I would just need ability to set the personal mix to the first index
the rest I can handle in c#
i'll look into it someday
bit caught up in things today
It's just in the format of
%7B0.0.0.00000000%7D. device 1 UUID / %7B0.0.0.00000000%7D. device 2 UUID
Etc etc.
cheers
go a bit nicer on steelseries tho, it is still free software at the end of the day
hard to convince a company to invest employee time into such
unfortunate, but logistics do be like that
curl -X PUT http://127.0.0.1:49704/streamRedirections/monitoring/deviceId/%7B0.0.0.00000000%7D.%7B079996df-9ca3-4ef7-9cca-31fd0554c5b4%7D -H "Host: localhost:49704"
This is how you'd change the personal mix (Obvs your device UUID) would be different
thanks ❤️
Can confirm it works, I just tested it.
The UUID is the same as what would show in Windows too
For instance I did this in powershell:
Get-PnpDevice -Class "AudioEndpoint" | Select-Object FriendlyName, InstanceId
and it gives the UUID under instanceID.
The fact that I figured this out in like 15 minutes and have it working means they can easily add it

free software lacks profit, and it already as-is achieves the goal of being not abandoned, promotes their hardware and collects possible future marketing outlets
which is why i think they made this software to begin with.
Well looking into this, I found out how to change any and every setting in the app, so I can now makes apps add to my existing apps to do things people want.
RE is likely all we have as such
you could make a OSS tool to add the fan-wanted features with a donations button on it?
might be a way of getting something back for the effort you've made
I've already made an app that auto switches Sonar game config, based on apps/games that are open, not sure if I should add to that, or if I should make seperate apps for different things.
"GGPlus" as a whole toolbox of addon features could be a good way to handle it
anywho, we're quite off topic, but thank you for the RE work!
I have it semi functional at the moment,
UI all works, just need to change the code to update the devices when a device connects/disconnects.
And need to add code to get the correct port for GG as it changes.
Filtered it to not show Sonar Virtual audio devices or devices that are disabled
Hello, probably a question already others have asked but I dont find a perfect fitting answer.
I want to split audio channels so when I have spotify playing live on stream, its not recorded in my VODs. Is it possible to create and send multiple audio channels through sonar? I've used voicemeeter banana before but maybe its even possible with sonar
Turn the audio channel you have Spotify in off for stream sound, add an audio capture device, only add the audio channel with Spotify in, and then add thay audio capture to a different audio channel in OBS
@vernal tiger
Since downloading this app, people in discord haven't stayed at a normal level. Once they start talking they'll sound really far away or loud then quiet. Is there a feature causing this?
probably sonar
Any idea how i'd go fixing it>?
Ah, was hoping to keep in on as it's helpful when streaming
its incredibly unnecessary imo
I mean I'm using it so I can listen to music, I can then vary the volume for viewers compared to myself. Allowing viewers to hear other sounds. It's useful for me.
turn off noise cancelling on the chat device in sonar
Awesome, I'll give it a shot thank you
anybody elses sonar no longers working for OBS and discord?
says theres routing issues?
And it's incredibly unhelpful to tell people to disable it when they want to use it
best hardware to use... now sonar is working great id love a mixer on the desk to adjust all the levels infront of me? anyone recomend something?
sonar doesn't have a proper API but it does have keybinds, so really anything that allows custom bindings (streamdeck, loupedeck, beacn mixer) would work.
Sonar uses Post requests so an app can be made to do anything with it
sorry, i should say a proper public API. it's possible that things can just change and break any unofficial apps.
can we use sonar with headsets with microphone ?
Guys when ever put my mic on sonar mic than when i talk you only hear a stuttering noise
test it with discord
i did
i tested with voice mod
than i tested it with a dc dm call with my alt account
still didnt work
yo guys is it possible to set this up with duel streams? like gaming and streaming pc and have my gaming pc listen to spotify and have my streaming pc not pick up spotify audio?
Yes. Sonar creates two sub mixed, personal and stream. Just turn off the stream mix and it won't go to your stream.
So i am hearing my own mic and my voice get played back in my headset, what do i do to remove it? i cannot stand having to hear myself while i stream

Thank u
is there a feature to turn stero to mono
i have a mic and a interface that is running strait into sonar so the mic is only on the leftg
check in windows settings
hello i messed up sonar allot trying to get the audio from the elgato
tride to fallow a tuber and yea thats where i missed up
Who, me?
Nah theres no way to force the audio to mono. It has to be downmixed to mono in post unfortunately. That’s just how interfaces work, would be nice to have a mono toggle on the interface though!
Can anyone help me with some audio issues?
Specifically with the ‘steelseries sonar - gaming’ not having audio. All other mixes have audio when I route to them
Volume bar fluctuates in desktop settings
And all devices are correct, if anybody has a solution or recommendation 🤙
I usually find myself streaming/screensharing to friends and though the volume on my earbuds or headphones (non steelseries devices) is fine on my end, it ends up being much lower to the viewer.
Is there is a way to raise the volume only for one end?
First off make sure Sonar is in streamer mode, that way you can adjust volumes of what ever you streaming to, next make sure whatever you’re streaming or sharing to is using SteelSeries sonar as its audio outputs
Only thing I can think of
does anyone have a seeting for automatically valorant clip
anyone have a mic preset that makes your voice very clear ?
Anyone have idea how disable listening by microfon i do everythink and i cant disable that
check the software and turn off sidetone
hey id like to ask how to setup steelseries so that it only captures my game audio and not my spotify
this is because whenever i get a clip the spotify audio is playing back and it reduces the quality of my montage
Move Spotify to a channel in Sonar that is not being broadcasted to your stream.
i don't see any issue from the screenshot? the ℹ️ icon just is a notice that the app has it's own settings, not that something is wrong
Sometimes at random, that turns in to the triangle "error". I am not sure if this is a confirmed issue, but nothing changes on my end, and that happens.
can anyone help me please
my mic doesnt record in clips anymore
it doesnt even show up
I have a problem because it's rgb and if I set a color and move the mouse, the color doesn't appear until I move it again. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I currently have a double sound incoming does someone know how to fix?
I use the Steelseries GG Software Sonar with VoiceMod, and it sounds like a have a weird high pitch buzzing sound at the back of me
I use voicemod as well and I found out how to make it sound better. It's easier to be in a call with someone who can help you determine which sound settings work best for your mic. You know, just saying that sounds better or worse to steer you in the right direction. What I haven't figured out though is how to route voicemod itself through the streaming side of Sonar to make it so the audience can hear soundboard buttons and the voice changer.
It works dont worry
I just reinstalled the whole steelseries gg software, and the weird sound vanished i have no clue why or what it was
Hello guys, has anyone been able to set up a duel PC with steel series arctics nova pro?
basically i can get the sound from two computers but not at once.
so my discord and stuff on 1 PC and gaming on the other, i cannot get my game sound if on USB 2 but i cannot get discord if im in USB 1.
i have watched many set ups on this but nothing is helping
you'd need to have one of the outputs going in through the line-in with a 3.5mm cable. the base station doesn't support audio over both USB inputs at the same time
I have a problem. The problem is that when I speak, the microphone volume automatically decreases. I hope to solve it. It seems to be for your photography.
thank you for your response. i since have fixed that problem i had yes you were correct you need another cable.
but adding that cable changes the sound dramatically and mic issues. to me these are small issues and if anyone can spare some time i can go through into greater details
I'm having issues with sonar
I honestly can't stand it, i'm always having issues perhaps maybe someone here may help me
for starters this chat mix is all the way to the right, if I can't move it. not even on the dial on my steelseries headset works. I can't hear any audio because of it.
and can't use my mouse either its locked, tells me to use the dial on my headset but nothing happens when i use the dial on my headset
any1 know how to fix that
I've had this issue too. I can't remember if I unplugged the headset and plugged it back or if I just restarted the headset (I use the Nova 7 Wireless), but one of those tricks fixes it.
yo this is random but i just got this headset a few months ago and idk what im doing lol ima noob 😆 and ive been streaming as well, new to that too lol anyone wanna help plzzzzz
youtube is not helpful for me lol and neither is google im about to give up and stay on default settings lol
Does anyone know why, during a Discord stream, both the game sound and the chat sound are heard, and everyone hears themselves twice?
So the TL;DR is I started using sonar to audio balance for streaming, and I was able to half ass it originally, but after not streaming for about a month the settings got messed up. Is there a general tutorial on how to properly use/set up?
look for the "also stream pc audio" check maybe this is the culprit
should look something like this when starting a stream:
Hello everyone - I have a 2pc game / stream setup using SteelSeries gg sonar on gaming pc and Elgato wave link on streaming pc
I have a SteelSeries nova pro headset pluged into gaming pc (USB). i have line out on the SteelSeries mixamp going to line in on the stream pc (3.5m) so stream can hear game sound and game chat. I also have line out on stream pc going to aux on SS mixamp (3.5m) so i can hear discord and music in headset. I would like to leave the mic mute button open on the headset and have a key bind (soon to have foot pedal) only allow voice when while holding a key bind (Push to talk) so stream can hear headset mic audio only. Is there a way to mute the headset mic on my gaming pc with out having to use the mic mute button on the headset? So far everything i have tried if i leave the mic mute button open it just bleeds through no matter what options i select on sonar. Thank you in advanced
Does anyone know why, when using sonar for streamers, my audio constantly comes in/out as if it's automatically muting itself?
its randomly lowering itself down to near zero, despite my ingame volume being on 100.
ingame example*
by lowering volume, do you mean you can see the sliders in the app being moved up/down as you play, or just that it sounds like the volume is changing but you don't see anything changing in the app?
no, the sliders don't move at all, but the actual green audiobars pretty much go to zero
as if the app suddenly faded into the distance, regardless of the music/combat/dialogue
and it only re-fixes if i alt tab
it was also happening on league of legends
i'd describe it as if it was trying to noise filter it, and then realising it's meant to be playing
check the Game device in sonar and maybe try turning off things like spatial or smart volume?
the chat device does have AI noise cancelling that you should also turn off, it can mess with the volume
theyre both identical currently
the issue isn't consistent its seemingly random
and the chat setting*
*with second part of chat
do you get the same problem with streamer mode off?
i do not, no
out of curiosity, what do you have setup for your devices?
personal was set to chat, and stream is stream
set to chat? do you have an arctis pro wireless?
yes i do
that's why. the chat output does have noise filter that CANNOT be turned off. you should set the output to game instead
Howdy, anyone know if there is a way to set my mic input to mono on GG
My mic is being recorded on left channel only :)
can someone help me with this Sonar Streamer mode, my game audio isn't working

anyone else's spatial audio broken? i wanna know if its just my headset cause the Front Right and Front Center are swapped, Side Right audio is extremely muffled, the Subwoofer is only on the left, the rear left and right are also switched.
guys every time i go into steelseries gg sonar tab, it says error and a message that I cant enter it.
same thing for me here too! I cant seem to get it to work
I just deleted it and downloaded it from their website and it worked
Already requested it via the apps feedback button prior
Great :)
yak you around?
can anyone help me with Sonar? for some reason it suddenly stopped detecting my microphone, no previous issues but now teamspeak and dicord no longer seem to pick it up
help!
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
You can always set it manually? So set the mic in Sonar automatically and set the standard windows input to the sonar mic.
guys i reset my sonar and it does completely work but the sound settings that are on my sonar are saved but it sounds worse and different.
my mic sounds worse than before
could anyone help me rn
I cant fix this.. I get this issue all the time.
Anyone that got a clue how to fix it?
Do it through Windows
Hmm, does backup device switching not work in Streaming Mode? (Win11, Arctis Pro + Arena 7, Sonar 72.0.0)
yes, it literally says it's not available in streamer mode
This did not work :/
The 72.0.0 update is broken, download the 71.1.0 version.
Broken how? I'm using it without any issues
Update doesn't work for a lot of people.
I've downloaded it multople times and each time same thing, I had to revert back to the version I mentioend because otherwise it just doesn't work.
That's not my definition of broken but aight, there's def a few having issues
(which they are working on)
hi all
that is literally the definition of broken???? having been fractured or damaged and no longer in one piece or in working order.
The update does not work, hence, it is broken.
Broken as in not working for everyone but it literally doesn't matter :)
My definition that is
Is it possible to setup steelseries stream with geforce shadowplay? It doesnt work for me somehow
Do you know If I can downgrade it? Or do I have to download it manually from the web again?
You'd have to look for a link online, I did find one but I don't want to share it because of security reasons. I don't want to be held responsible. I will say that it's for Sonar specifically. I'm only having issue with sound, not with anything else. The app also does update to the newest one and I have to downgrade every 24 hrs it seems.
This is the error that comes up with the 72.0.0. It is infact, broken.

HI can anyone help me? I can't update my apex pro tkl so I can't install it
hello, i recently got a headset, to use for my discord chat only, as i have a 2400 watt sound system for my audio, iv implemented this headset for only discord chat, now my issue is my stream does not hear them anymore, and only i can,how can i make it go to stream and my headset, i using a dual pc set up
i used to use an aux cable mic only to my controller, it worked fine, then i added my headset, lost all stream chat, forgot to mention, i use discord on my game pc, and had steam audio no problems, but since i added this headset its not the same?
Is it possible to set up streamer mode to allow game/discord capture with nvidia shadowplay? trying to figure this out is doing my head in.
i want to record gameplay and discord chat aswell.
The closest i got was setting my mic input to "Steelseries Stream Mix" within nvidia settings, but then my gameplay audio was doubled in clips.
Currently running into what I'll call a missing feature. I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett Solo to interface with sonar and am only getting one channel out of it. I'm using a mono mic and it only comes through the left ear of the mix.
cant find the setting to make the mic mono
You can suggest missing features in #1070392859125104660 😄
Thanks
yw :)

Sonar game not working i put Iracing through it and nothing no sound
hey yall, i just downloaded sonar. im still kinda confused on how it works though for seperating audio. so, for example, if im playing a game and i have a clipping software (not moments), how can i make sure that my music does not go through the clip, but my game and mic audio does
Make sure you're recording multitrack audio in whatever app you're using
u need to uninstall GG sonar and reinstall it
sonar needs to be able to capture vertual cam in OBS
and abilities to have a vertical capture as well
who have nitro
Discord sells it?
i want to nitro
If you're looking for the GG Nitro promo then you're too late unfortunately
The SteelSeries x Discord Nitro promotion has ended.
The promotion has been run multiple times, so it may return in the future!
It’s recommended to sign up for the newsletter so you get informed the next time it’s available.
?
is sonar down? mine won't load
Try running the GG installer again without uninstalling first
need any sort of info to answer that
I'm not sure if what I'm trying to do is possible. I want to take the sound from one of my browser sources in OBS and loop it back into a microphone input so that I can use the output of that microphone as the input to different app. Essentially I want to play one of my OBS browser sources directly to a different app as an input. Specifically as the input to the AtheneAlerts.ai Chrome extension so that it can be heard by an AI co-streamer.
VB Audio Cable, or output+monitor in OBS & manually route to your extension, or loop everything through the stream mix in sonar & add stream mix as input in obs, add to separate audio track & monitor+output back to whatever audio line your chrome extension is listening for
I was wondering if there was a option to always see apps that have been previously used in the specific output column (basically if you used that app one you have access to move it around as you please after if the application is running, if the application is not running I get what's happening cause your using the windows sound mixer I believe), as my obs browser sources always tend to disappear, and be able to change the name within sonar of apps like obs browser sources, that would be very very helpful
This is almost exactly what I did. I used monitor plugin for OBS (pure gold) and routed output of that one source to the sonar mic input, and used sonar mic as the input to the google chrome extension that the AI monitors. Works like a charm. Thanks for answering my question 🙂
I'm glad I could be of some assistance! You actually clued me into a new OBS plugin I'd not heard of. I just upgraded to PC this past June & still finding my footing as far as all the software I use for content creation. Especially OBS...SO MANY PLUGINS 🤣 🤣
I hadn't heard of it either. I found it by googling around for a solution for what I'm doing. There was no wholesale solution, but after tacking together different technologies it works like a dream. I can now integrate my ai co-streamer with youtube chat, and man you wouldn't know that she wasn't reading it right off the screen. It's freaking awesome.
Does anyone have good Sonar settings for Mic for a Shure MV7??
Any advice for how to stop this notification that pops up every time I toggle the mute/unmute button for my mic?
Or be able to set it to always pop up on my secondary monitor so it won't cover up part of the game I'm playing.
settings > sonar > overlays
i don't think you can change the monitor but you can toggle them on/off or change the position
thank you, worked perfectly!
hi, i'm trying to get sonar to work but none of the applications are showing up even tho they're making a sound, any idea why ?
it's especialy oper gx and youtube muisc that are not working
im having the same issue, discords the only thing that works for me
dang, same 😦
I can not hear my voice chat in BO6 using sonar. someone help please!
Hi does anyone have a good audio profile for Bo6?
Use the built in one? They added one recently
Has it been added to the arctis app?
It's in Sonar
You can see updates to the Arctis app here https://discord.com/channels/299040363123965952/1304534980092891177
I had a feedback loop of other users mics when capturing the whole screen for discord, In windows sounds mixer I have disabled discord output for my headset itself, my microphone output, and since I'm using stream mode the stream output but does that mess with other outputs for OBS or anything that won't capture because I think it would
Monitoring outputs in OBS seems fine tbh
guys how do i reset sonar , my sonar is all messed up , dont work nothing , i cant remove the apps that i dont want to use in sonar...

bc im losing my mind alr trying to fix it
Has anyone else experienced an issue where only chat will work but "game" or "media" doesn't work?
The moment I route my spotify audio to media or game there is no sound. Even when I go to 'test sound' in windows I don't hear anything when looking at "game" or "media"
If anyone knows a fix for this please let me know. Thanks
ended up using an older version of sonar and it works just fine. I assume the most recent iteration of sonar is likely broken.
can you send me in my dm what version you downloaded because i need my media sonar xD
which version did u use?
@keen dirge

Does anyone know why the mic quality in SteelSeries Sonar has drop drastically after 74.0 version?
I did not change anything but i noticed that after updating to 75.0 (and 76.0) mic quality is drastically reduced
How do streamers separate the game prox chat to go to kick and not tiktok for example
ok anyone have a issue with Sonar not picking up on OBS? It worked for me yesterday after i loaded Sonar for the first time, but today when i turn on OBS it will not come up in the apps section. I have tried it several times, any ideas?
I have an issue with Sonar not loading up after my computer turns on from the Sleep mode. (using Windows 11)
The only way to fix it is to restart the app itself. Has anyone here experienced anything similar and knows how to fix this?
Cheers
Having a issue with while in game and discord there is a clicking sound like static in my ears and on stream anyone know how to fix this?
how can i use this with voice mod????
i just need help with the whole steelseries in general please it has been messed up a few days now
Hey guys i wanna know why when i set steelseries sonar to chat for xbox app
it doesn't work
Hello everyone, I have a short question for you experts 😄 I would like to use a second stream mix for OBS. one for the stream incl. music and the other mix without music for VOD or platforms like YouTube. Currently I have inserted the stream mix (without music / media) into OBS and combined it with a separate audio input for music / media, which is not on the VOD track. Unfortunately, the volume for the media input cannot be changed to OBS via sonar in streamer mode and remains at 100%. So I have the question if someone has a different idea or implements it differently so that everything can be controlled via sonar for streamer? Thank you for the ideas 🙂 Greeting
hello! can someone assist me? I have a huge latency when i sing over the music that i play from my browser when using the sonar
Sonar uses digital signal processing on your PC so it introduces latency
That is normal
Does anyone know why when i go to get up a shortcut key to mute/unmute mic the software doeswnt accept the key binding. i click left conttrol in the slot it pops up but then nothing happens and it doesnt stay in the spot. any help would be great thanks!
so there's no way to decrease it?
is there a way to at least match the latency of the music as well HAHA
Theoretically you could put some kind of DSP filter on the music too, but it wouldn’t introduce latency 1-to-1 so I don’t think it would work.
The way live artists get around this is using hardware with on-board DSP.
For you this would mean a USB mic with on-board DSP, or an XLR mic into an audio interface with on-board DSP.
where can i get customer service or whatever? i think the program is making my mic sound robotic every day and i continuously have to unplug my mic or switch and unplug that one

Hey,my sonar wants to update i do everything it said but not do the update?anybody?:)
Hey guys! I am using Steelseries sonar stream mix which is directly put into my mic/aux audio channel on OBS, i was wondering if there's a way that i can not have music playing in VODS when using the stream mix? i know it would be possible if i put each channel directly into OBS, but id like to just have it as 'Steelseries Sonar - Stream' and thats it.
Good evening, I would like to know if a Stream Deck plugin is available.
there's no official plugin. there might be a third party one
Hello, does anyone use Sonar for Tiktok Live Studio? I wanted to integrate it into Tiktok Live Studio, which works fine, but as soon as I do a guest live, I either get feedback or a robot voice. Can someone help me set this up? Sonar is operated in streaming mode
How can I hear my Apex Pro TKL keyboard sound clearly and distinctly in my clips through my microphone and everything?
Anyone else with the Arctis Nova 5x have a Compressed Mic when streaming through Xbox Twitch App?
What is the best Equilzer setting for PS5 Black ops 6
same here. any feedback?
Hey @potent mural @smoky steppe , I know this is an old conversation, but is there a relatively simple way to setup a workaround for this, possibly to set a hotkey to switch the personal mix output? I don't have coding experience but it seems like you guys may have found a workaround?
Can someone help me? My problem is that when I want to do a guest live via Tiktok Live Studio, either the guests hear each other twice or my voice comes through twice (robot voice) in combination with Steelseries Sonar
Nope, I did have something but deleted it
Bummer, thanks anyways
Hey, everybody, I've got a problem. I am using Sonar to customize my microphone. And while streaming the entire Discord screen, for some reason my SteelseriesGG microphone is captured and my voice is duplicated. On the stream and in the channel itself. Tried to turn on the streamer mod, but nothing changed.
With the headset volume at max while streaming the Mic channel seems to pick up vocals from Media and Game channels. like watching a video Media channel or playing a game Game channel that has talking voices are transmitted over the Mic channel. Lowering the headset volume seems to reduces this effect. Im wondering what can be done to fix this issue?
Does anyone use Sonar GG with Stream Deck +?

ANY ONE HAVE SONAR DELTA FORCE GAME
WHY ARE WE SHOUTING?
How can I make loud and quality sound in games?
Hi all, I use SteelSeries Sonar for my microphone and I set the level to 100%, but then sometimes Sonar will automatically lower the percentage at random times. I really need to figure out why this is happening, and how to force sonar to stay set at 100% as I am an esports caster and it is affecting my streams
Hey @real crown what kind of mic are you using and is the volume changed in Sonar or maybe on the input volume?
I am using an SM7B, and it is definitely changing on Sonar as I see this level percentage decrease automatically at certain times
On Both Channels? Stream and Output?
I'm confused there, how can I see both channels?
Look at this screen - in the upper right you can see a slider saying "streamer mode"
Oh I see! Well I never use the streamer mode slider! I normally just leave it off, so I guess as far as I know it's only happening on the output channel
I haven't experienced that behaviour on my installation. However, I played around with my settings and found, that the level you are referring to is also set in the Windows System Sound settings so if I change it there, it will also change in Sonar and vice versa. Therefore, my guess is that there is some setting in your system that will scale down that volume when <EVENT> happens. I can't exclude that Sonar is doing this, but as said, I haven't experienced that before and I am suspecting it is another setting or application in your system that is modifying your input (or maybe you are doing it, maybe in Discord or so and accidentally also affecting your sonar config). I hope that helps
im using sonar and when i show my screen on discord my voice is duplicated
Thoughts: What input device do you feed into sonar and which one goes into discord? Where is the duplicated voice audible? Headphones or stream?
A microphone goes into sonar, a virtual sonar microphone goes into discord and the sound on the stream is duplicated, the sound of my microphone and the sound of everyone who speaks
this might sound stupid and i cant tell if it is, however i have tried connecting the sc3 audio mixer to sonar as a personal mix and although audio is going through it, the sonar functions are basically useless as the audio level cant be controlled from it nor does the eq work?
So, the virtual microphone is the Sonar mic? What is the Discord output?
I just checked my settings and my output goes to Sonar Chat (which will then go into Stream). My hunch would be, that you include your Discord output (and mic, possibly) in your streaming software as inputs in addition to stream and thats why its duplicated?
i found fix

Fixing Echo on Discord Screen Share with SteelSeries Sonar | Quick and Easy Guide
In this video, I’ll show you a quick and easy fix for resolving echo issues on Discord screen share when using system audio with SteelSeries Sonar. If you're tired of that annoying echo disrupting your calls, this guide is for you.
Special thanks to tad239669 on ...
Thank you for your help! I'm trying with just streamer mode for the moment and if I see the same issue, I will check my system settings 🙂
Interesting. I didn't knew that was a thing. Thank you!
i have a problem with my mic
when i talk its coming through the game tab instead of through the mic tab, and now i cant auto set to defaults, nor can i move aroud svchost
when i turn on streamer mode it makes me hear myself how can i fix this?
Having issues with Sonar, everything is routed and I have been using it for 1 years but all of a sudden it isn't controlling any of the volumes of anything routed. I can hit the mute on sonar and move the audio up or down and nothing changes. I have not added any new applications or changed anything that would affect it. Ex Aux is at 50% volume but its stuck at like 10%. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and its still doing the same thing.
Also unable to stream as its giving double audio now, I disabled sonar and the double audio stopped, started sonar again and the double audio started again
Is there a fix or a recent update thats causing a bug?
its getting worse
Is this set to the right microphone?
The headphone on the mic settings should be turned to off
ye
Just a hunch: Are your windows settings set the right way?
Yeah
Ok, try this: Go to your Windows Sound Mixer Options and find the Steelseries Icon: Check if the Mic is set the right way there. Because what you want to have is that the Mic is going into Sonar using the windows setting and then you would use the Steelseries Mic to feed it into anything else
Hm, but if it is not working at all, I wonder if it is used at all. Because when you stream and you hear double audio, I would think that in that regard you are hearing Steelseries Stream + your Windows config. That was my thinking here.
I have no idea, I havent changed a single thing. It's like Sonar started acting up this week and causing audio issues.
The double audio is during stream as I have my setttings to Monitor Only in obs. But than its also not controlling any volumes so I cant turn anything up or down.
That is really strange; It sounds to me that you are listening to a different device than the Sonar configured one. So, if I had an issue like this, I would re check my Windows Soundmixer Settings, specifically Default Input and Output device, Input and Output device of Sonar and anything that could also interfere. Within Sonar, I would check the devices configured in Master, that the right devices will be set. With this, you hopefully find something that should lead to Sonar working again. Afterwards, I would check the OBS settings.
I am also completely at a loss what your "Unknown" devices are. Apart from that, I don't know whats going on I'm afraid
Yeah all of that has been checked and it's all designated correctly
Those unknown devices pop in and off sonar without any audio happening on my computer
Never had them ever pop before today
Tested everything by themselves and the issue only appears when sonar is reintroduced
anyones else alias pro mic flickering or static noise when app in on?
Sonar is acting VERY weird for me right now. When I mute an audio source in sonar is doubles its output in OBS (will send video)
when this happens it DOES cut off the audio on my end
might need to remux that video as an mp4 for easier viewing
also screenshots of your audio outputs in sonar and inputs in OBS helps a ton to track down doubling
there ^
I am aware of the streamer mode, trying to avoid using it if I am able to!
that's fair, i don't use streamer mode either, but i'm checking my setup and i'm not seeing the doubling. can you send a screenshot of your audio inputs in the OBS settings?
not inherently the problem, since i also have media/aux setup as sources rather than audio devices
ok, nvm. set desktop audio to media and it still has the same issue
do you have any filters setup on the audio sources?
if you right click on the audio sources you can check them for filters. i know some people setup audio filters for their mic so maybe some got set on the sonar outputs? idk
i should mention real quick that i'm also trying out the "muting in sonar" thing and while i'm not seeing the doubling, i'm also noticing that it doesn't mute in OBS, it just mutes the output to my headset
ok, weird
I do not have any audio filters
may just have to mute it via obs 🤷♂️
sucks but oh well
that's what i prefer anyways since I can just have my one OBS window open and mess with the audio there, rather than having to tab over into Sonar just to mess with sliders
what app is that?
it's OBS, I just have the toggle on to display the volume bars vertically instead of horizontally
Ahh
is anyone having sonar and streamlabs obs issues lately? I last streamed on thursday and everything was fine, my computer updated over the weekend, and now the sonar stream channel isn't even registering in streamlabs obs. The only thing that I changed was my camera settings, which was just changing the resolution from 720p 30 to 1080p 60.
I don't even know if this is a sonar issue or a streamlabs obs issue, tbh. anyone else running into an issue like this?
I'm having an issue where the "chat" audio channel has stopped working for somereason, when last week it was okay for me. I assumed it was because I'm trying to use Voicemetere though

Hi guys !
I have one question for you !
Is it posssible to use a Fifine SC3 Audio Mixer with Sonar app ?
I don't get audio in obs with sonar using "SteelSeries Sonar - Stream"
it worked 3 days ago, no changes made to anything
please provide a fix or at least an answer/response on how to fix this!
I'm having the same issue with this too. I have an IT ticket open with Steelseries about this. today is day 4....
reading your post above this has to be a sonar related issue as I am using OBS and not streamlabs
I'd love if you could tag me when you get a response to your ticket
it happened in OBS Studio too. I tested it out after Streamlabs told me to do so. I'll definitely fill you in on the end fix for this issue.
Guys why Discord don't allow to sonar to do changes?
@spice sable have you put a ticket in with steelseries about this? In my ticket, I was told that they'll be working with their devs to do some internal testing. The more tickets about this the better (I think at least).
I've sent them the following info:
- How OBS audio was set up on my end
- OBS version
- screenshot of sonar settings and routings
- GG logs
- install logs
- GUID
- any event logs with errors for steelseries
- my processor and windows specs
- and a screenshot showing that all of the drivers on my PC weren't corrupted
I only did a #1047622297382567936 ticket here
if you go to the steelseries support site, you can put in a ticket there
I installed the new windows update -> still nothing.
I uninstalled Steelseries GG and reinstalled it, screenshotting my settings beforehand. Then I set it up again in the same way. It works
i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling sonar...and the same issues are happening 😭
that's 💩. I hope you find a fix soon 😦
hello guys can someone help me I have a problem with my steelseries arctis nova 1 headset microphone, it's a problem with the application because I bought the product 4 days ago before installing the steelseries application everything worked fine but when I installed it and configured it with the presets the microphone starts to bug or not work
In think you need to change it in either the Discord Settings (likely) or the Windows SoundMixer settings
Can someone help me? The program is bugged. I'm trying to change the sonar settings, but nothing changes.
For example, when I change this setting, it doesn't change anything on my microphone.
I have a problem. When I turn on OBS, Discord, or Telegram, the microphone doesn't work. Apparently, Sonar GG isn't sending the signal. For everything to start working, I need to run a microphone test in Sonar itself. Then the signal starts passing through to other applications.
I mean, I might just be old (I am) but I'm a big fan of not doing copyright violations in streams
With that beiong said a tutorial like this might help you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTUkVVaGPyA
In this video, we discuss how Steel Series Sonar can be the solution you are looking for when considering a virtual audio mixer for your stream or content. Separate your audio from OBS, Discord, Spotify, Google Chrome, Twitch, and More so that you have full control of your audio. Also, this includes a streaming channel similar to how Elgato Wav...
Setting up audio for new streamers is complicated, and confusing, but after hours of work, your mic sounds great, your game is clear, and music, well it’s amazing, you’ve done it!... except your viewers keep screaming at you to fix your audio.
Today, we’re going to be setting up a tool called Sonar For Streamers, that works with OBS or Streaml...
or this
thanks alot ~🙏🙏

Sonar keeps switching my playback to my monitor instead of speakers, any idea how to fix it
