i've finished reading The Climber and as an avid fan of sports manga and the like, it's really refreshing to see a manga about a loner from start to finish

#

of course, as social beings, he relied on people along the way but in doing what he loves, he excels at it while being completely alone, only him and the mountain

#

the manga shows his story and him being put together with others countless times but they all end in disaster, it's only when he's truly and purely alone does he find true joy

#

The art also helps carry the entire thing

#

the realism in it helps convey the mature and deep sense of the manga, makes it feel like it's truly real

#

which it kinda is, since the manga is based on the novel based on a true person

#

overall, i give it a solid 77/80, really great read, i was hooked on it from the very first chapter, stays very true to it's other title Kokou No Hito(Solitary Person)
