I won't deny the creativity on display (especially for the last sequence) but it's like... too much quality quantity for me imo
I would rather have much more tastefully directed fight sequences than just pure animation flex
the non-stop action animation reminds me of those stickman fights on youtube were the action never really stops, because there isn't a point to stop nor is there any real story being told but even still for the sake of retaining some coolness and allowing viewers to take everything, they will stop eventually
unlike those though. the action here doesn't really stop until after the sequence (they'll do a bit of set up for the next one) and the scale of animation is higher than those rudimentary stick fights ever could

Narnia Isekai is a bit tough cuz you'd actually have to make a living breathing fantasy setting and have your characters be part of it, without losing their individuality of course, but not have the world be molded to them

Jumbo watched. Loved this movie! It’s an Indonesian animated kids movie and it’s REALLY good. It’s about Don, an orphaned underachiever who is trying to put on the best play ever… with the help of a ghost. What I love is that most of the central characters aren’t one dimensional. Like you want to root for Don but damn was he self centered. The bully also has a hard life and the MC crossed paths with them during a bad time. The bad guy even had a background where you can see why they chose to do it, but still root for his downfall due to their choices. Biggest laugh I had was when ||Don ran off with the bad guy’s controlling device, stopped, then turned to the still chasing bad guy and asked how to use it|| LMAO! Wish I could show this to my kids while it’s in the theatres but ah well.
As a side note my favorite character was a random organizer simply called Panitia Datar (Monotone Organizer). True to her nickname whatever is going on her voice is always the same tone. Even when someone coughed money right on her face heh.
Dunno if non indos can watch it anytime soon but I highly recommend it as an animation fan!

Devil May Cry Netflix anime beat.
DISCLAIMER: all I know about Devil May Cry is watching my brother play the first and third game.
It’s dumb and bad.
Good stuff: Dante’s a good lead (of what we see of him), the first two episodes had my favorite fight scenes. The soundtrack was great even if it’s sometimes not fitting and… there’s a lot of dumping licensed music here. Which I suppose is true to form. There was one song where all I can hear is the Weird Al polka version of it haha. Not bad, in fact it made it better. Lady’s fine, though she seems different what I remember seeing. Episode 6 changing animation style was cool… though… but later.
The bad: god the story took a nosedive. They also sideline Dante a lot haha, DESPITE the story being actually being about how important he is to the safety of the world. Now I don’t know the actual lore of the game… but I really, REALLY doubt this heavy handed and godawfully done allegory to the war on Iraq was part of it LMAO! I wouldn’t even be this irritated if they did it well, but they did not. Holy crap they did not. The final scene had me laughing with how goddamn stupid it is. Setting the story aside, The action and combat scenes also lack any true hype moments like the studio’s previous work Castlevania had. It’s so weird when the best fights are humans against humans (well, half devil vs humans). HOW DO YOU SCREW UP THE DEVIL TRIGGER AND FINAL FIGHTS HOLY CRAP! Also I’m all for comedic relief… but Enzo ain’t it. Dumbass needs to shut up once in a while and don’t open their yap every single moment. Going back to ep 6, while it is cool… after seeing it, I had the sneaking suspicion that this was originally a different story, and they just slapped on the Devil May Cry name on it and added DMC characters to it when they got the license.
I will not be watching the second season of this trash.

They adapt the lore in a cohesive way and at the very least are serviceable movies for both main demographics that would go to see them, plus they've come a long way since the initial trailer for the first movie
It's impressive, especially for a video game adaption, I haven't seen a franchise with the amount of craft and continued support that the Sonic movies have had.
