Caught up with Dandadan. Unlike Kaiju No. 8, which I immediately read and caught up with right after the first ep and was disappointed it never reached it’s full potential, Dandadan blew away my expectations. Dandadan is a battle shonen about a girl and boy who, due to circumstances, became abducted by aliens and cursed by a ghost. Respectively. It’s a bizarre adventure with a ton of heart that knows how to make you laugh (and its sense of humor resonates perfectly with me), knows how to tug on your heartstrings at key dramatic moments, and is all around awesome with badass fight scenes, cool moments, and everything is wrapped in phenomenal, gorgeous, and often surreal art that I am amazed the mangaka can do on a weekly basis.
So yeah one of my all time favorite Shounens and comes highly recommended by me. I can’t wait for several key moments to get animated haha. As of right now 169 chapters are out and the anime only animated the first chapter… and it was so good I got caught up in two days. Read it y’all.
