I thought it was hermit purple, maybe a slight variation after seeing the vines with thorns she has.

It is speculated that Dio had Jonathan's stand which was hermit purple and we have seen him use it.

This would mean that both Jonathan and Joseph would have the same stand so it's not a stretch to think that Holly would also have it.

Yeah but the problem with that. Is that the manga directly states that things like the Ripple are shortcuts to achieving a stand. Once the ripple clan gains a stand it will always be the same type as Hermit Purple. Because hermit is achieved thru the mastery of Hamon.
