I think it’s fine to skip some episodes. I can’t give it away without spoiling, but for instance, there are two episodes that feature them sitting under the blazing heat. S3 is episodic enough that you could skip a bit and not miss anything substantial. That said, the Egypt arc doesn’t hit as hard if you aren’t attached to the crusaders, and you’re not going to develop that attachment without watching the first half.
