he manages to take enough blood to just barely attach to Jonathan's head, but apparently he thrashes in pain all night long splashing in the word and convulsing painfully since his head was not meant to be on Jonathan's body, although eventually he got a loose attachment to it
while adrift at sea, DIO promises to ensure Erina and baby Lisa Lisa's survival, since Erina is his only supply of blood for him to live
he even goes out of the way to catch fish and cook it with his laser eyes for her to eat
Erina even mentions "The ability that killed my husband was now saving my life."
of course there were time were Erina wouldn't do exactly what DIO wanted and this caused her to suffer as a result, as he would constantly drown her to get her to listen to him, and he would constantly trap her in the secret compartment so she couldn't move
of course Erina was wondering how he did some of the things in did during the day, as she kept talking about him having some "weird ability"
now
eventually she decides to take action after escaping DIO for a bit and then randomly in the wreckage finding Jonathan's severed head, having not rotted at all, and not even zombified somehow
this is where Erina makes her way back to the coffin and takes action
so using her knowledge as a nurse
