Yeah, late part 5 has more angular noses and the ears jut out more, while in early part 6, there's more simplistic faces and rounder heads

For me B&W is more impressive since you see the raw skill of araki as an artist and that just satisfies my inner artist, and it sort of has its charm.
However, colored is better especially in this part due to how they make use of blues/purples to make the setting more surreal, and they also clarify weird action scenes.

I find Jojolion's pacing to be...strange to say the least. I'm up to roughly chapter 60 (i don't remember right now) which i read without any large breaks so it's not because of long stops or anything, but it seems really stilted. It wants to be like part 4, being really episodic from time to time just having fun with itself, but then it also wants to be a super tense mystery. We could be right in the middle of a plot point developing, but then it just halts for a while to go and do something completely unrelated to the plot only to get back on track whenever Araki feel like it

not to mention that it introduces so many ideas constantly only to throw them away almost immediately. I can't feel like i have any reason to be invested in anything because the second I do, the story pushes it to the way side and stops developing that potentially interesting idea for the sake of introducing something else. The Higashikata family are prime examples of this

Jojolion is divided in two completely different parts in terms of pacing, pre-damo which is a mystery type story focused on uncovering the truth about morioh, peering into this mysterious fruit business and so on
And then post-damo which is a more traditional and familiar pace where the focus is taking down the fruit mafia and reaching the new branch
