yeah idk about josuke, but regardless of whether joshuu’s stand was inherited or not, he was only able to use it after being bit. i think the same goes for all higashikatas, because norisuke or daiya said that they developed stands because they live near the wall eyes. to apply this to the theory, it would mean that every member had been bit by iwasuke at some point in their lives, the most recent member to go through this being joshuu.
now that i think about it, there is no way joshuu’s stand was inherited, and the iwasuke theory still works for him
because all the higashikata members were already born before the big earthquake
except maybe tsurugi, but i forget how many years ago it happened
and for josuke, maybe it was an external force which somehow “triggered” his stand fusion to work. we dont know how fusing bodies affects the stands of the persons respectively, in this case josefumi and kira, but iwasuke biting josuke mightve have “binded” the two stands together
