I’m a junior backend developer with less than a year of experience working with Laravel, and I recently subscribed to Laracasts. Should I follow the general learning path suggested by the platform, or focus on specific content to improve faster and better meet my current work demands?

hello @rain cloud , personally speaking it's good if you follow the course first however, it's even better if you start making own project using existing website with difficulties you set yourself, for an example:
I set my own porjects based by difficulties

  • Easy: 1 Page Article like Wikipedia
  • Medium : Either Dropbox or Facebook/Twitter
  • Hard: Amazon

Couldn't agree more on parts of this, certainly do the course - the biggest takeaway which I also agree with is the Amazon part.. I mean I do think facebook is a lot more difficult than dropbox or twitter.. but the Amazon part is key, because most want a shopping site - the general public (including your future clients) assume that's an incredibly easy thing, it really isn't as easy as folks think - that'll be the biggest awakening on your journey - websites/apps that appear simple are actually a lot more complicated than folks think - but that in the end is the reason AI won't be taking jobs any time soon, go for it and good luck! 🙂
