I wanted to share one of my carcanos, this 1915 Brescia-made M1891 Carcano Moschetto. I haven't had this in the collection for a long time and was a recent addition, but it's one I quickly fell in love with.
This carcano has a lot of the characteristics that it was a carcano made and used during WWI, minus the date of manufacture. It has the first bayonet locking style in tact, it has VG inspection marks on most of the metal parts, which was common on WWI Carcano Carbines. It also has a beautiful 1915 Brescia cartouche on the side of the buttstock, alongside matching numbers. I did forget to take a picture though unfortunately. What I like about it the most is the handguard metal retainer. Most of the ones you see have the metal top that retains the handguard welded on, whereas this one is a two piece, which was a field modification. Absolutely a sweet shooter. Glad to have it.
