Confused about the Watcher's ability (spoilers)

So I just got the ||Ripplespace|| ability and it seems it completely replaces the invisibility. It's a bummer for me because "the watcher" who interacted with the world from the shadows is more of a "the runner" now, running from purple sea slugs unable to interact with his surroundings. I can't use his ability and enjoy the scenery, watch the creatures nor listen to the soundtrack, as it all gets rippled up. I like the ability on paper, but as a replacement it just feels bad.
Is there any way to downgrade other than dying and getting my ripple level down? Does it get better in any way?
I am in ||Signal Spires|| right now and I feel like I can't take in the beautiful scenery like I could've done if not for thisability. I feel disincentivized to have fun in three out of four ways rain world was fun to me...

I don’t think there’s a way to not ripplespace if you’re at max level

I hate how it replaces the music too

I mean dying once is a pretty simple way to not contend with it

There's no consequence to willingly axing your ripple level given that there is no karma-based progression system

I too have the same quarrels with it ... can't take in the world around me with it ...
