As the Monk, ST>OE gate doesn't get marked with the proper symbol on the map.

Purely a visual bug since the game does properly remove the Karma requirement after going through the gate for the first time. The map just doesn't show the circular Monk symbol, which isn't normal and doesn't happen with any other gate.
