as far as progressing out of the area goes if you are persistent and keep trying and learning from each death you will make it through
you can always backtrack to a more familiar area and explore elsewhere or come back later if you need to too

Always assume you are missing a key point of knowledge if you are dying repeatedly at the same part. I see you've died several times to the tentacle plants at the bottom - have you spent any time observing their behavior to figure out how they detect you, or react to certain actions? At what point does it take notice of you, what happens if you approach it more carefully or disturb it with a weapon or other object? (This area is pretty dark but not impossible to see in - turn up your screen brightness all the way if you haven't already.)
Until you've found a way to consistently get past them (there are multiple ways), do not worry about death, focus first on experimentation.
