are you getting an exception error when it starts shaking? the game does that when something in the sleep menu doesnt initialize properly
Close the game and upload the 'exceptionLog.txt' file that you can find in your root installation folder (next to the RW .exe).
The file may not always exist - if it does not, this is useful to know.
Standard Steam path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rain World
To send the file, drag and drop it into the Discord window. Do not copy and paste the contents of the file.

if youre using steam, id try verifying the game files to make sure everything there is fine, it shouldnt affect your saves

But chances are if they didn't update after rainworld did, theyre broken XP
