Close the game and upload:
- exceptionLog.txt file that you can find on your root installation folder (next to the .exe, default Steam path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rain World). - If you are playing with custom regions via Custom Regions Support you should also send customWorldLog.txt.
- If you are using BepInEx, you should also send LogOutput.log which you can find in the BepInEx folder:
Rain World\BepInEx
To send the files, drag and drop them into the Discord window. Do not copy and paste the contents of the files.
Check if an exceptionLog is generated.
(The consoleLog looks normal. Maybe the LogOutput can help.) In any case, does this happen as well when you disable all community mods?
(If not then you can find the mod that causes this by enabling one at a time.)
I haven't tried that, might try it tomorrow.. thank you for the tips
ill see if it works (hopefully)
okay.. tried it today with onnnly the 5 mods that came with rwdp, the expeditio mode still doesnt work and now i can find an exceptionlog file.. what do i do?
According to the exceptionLog the menu tries to select a slugcat that doesn't exist. Can you go to the folder %AppData%\..\LocalLow\Videocult\Rain World and drag&drop the file expCore in here (there are three of them; one for each save file; check the options menu in-game if you are unsure what save file you are on;).
(It should also work if you simply delete these files. Make a backup if you want to try that.)
alright found the file, this is save file where the bug is
Try this. I changed SLUG:Guide to SLUG:White. It should select Survivor now.
copied it to replace the old one, the menu now works again!! thank you so much!!

, one last thing is there any way i could prevent this to happen again in the future?
The question is if this was the issue. Looking at the screenshots that you posted, you had the Guide enabled. Not sure how you would select that custom slugcat in Expedition. Maybe you used a mod to do that and that mod was disabled?
In any case, don't select custom slugcats when you disable(?) or change mods. The same applies for custom regions and the Safari menu. So far the base game is not robust enough to deal with these types of situations. (I guess it is possible to fix these things by creating a mod that does that. Maybe drop a feature request to the mod that lets you select custom slugcats in Expedition. Maybe it already does that given that it seemed to be disabled(?).)
yeah i had this mod called "expedition for mod cats" and tried to play "the guide" (although didn't uninstall the mods midway) Somehow maybe that made this bug.. anyways that noted now thanks again!!
